Just in case it had slipped your mind, here's your friendly reminder that a lovely physical Zelda game is out today!
Yes, Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda's physical release with all DLC included is now available. If you haven't already bought the game digitally, this is a fantastic way to get all of its content in one lovely package.
It's safe to say that we loved this one when we played it for review – and that was before all the DLC arrived. Here's what we said:
By allowing a talented indie developer to play in the universe, Nintendo has gained a fantastic entry in the franchise that feels like a celebration – specifically of its music, a part of the series destined to take a back seat as the majesty of Hyrule is increasingly conveyed through the scale of its world rather than melodies from the days when the 'kingdom' was really a walled garden. Cadence of Hyrule is not just a brilliant game, it's a brilliant Zelda game - one that you won't want to miss.
Let us know if you've treated yourself to a copy – or if you're planning on doing just that – with a comment below. This might just be the perfect starter before the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity main course next month.

Wow.... just take my damm debit card nintendo.. every pay there is always something i need
I need to stop buying ganes prior to physical releases
Trying to hold off on Hades.
Glad I waited for this instead of rushing to buy it last year. Better to wait for the game as a physical cartridge with all DLC on it!
Arrived in the post today. Dog chewed graphic novel that arrived but this was intact. Phew!
@Mrd8202 There will most definitely be a physical for that at some point. I hope not for a while though, so most patches can be on the cart.
I waited on this one because I knew there had to be a physical. Im getting it from Amazon today.
Has it been confirmed that the dlc is on the cart, or is it a separate free download?
This and Hyrule Warriors AoC are really going to mess with my system. Do I stick to alphabetical order and display them under C for Cadence and H for Hyrule (like any proper geek), or next to the Zelda games they belong with (like a true Zelda fan)? I'm so torn.
Getting it? I got it right here!
Still baffled by the lack of extra save slots, had to delete a completed file to play the Skull Kid expansion. This is ridiculous. And before anyone comes saying “just make another profile”, there are achievements tied to each user, which takes a lot of time and effort to unlock.
Came today, just as I read this to be exact!
Yep. Was waiting for an eshop sale, but held off when this was announced. Can't wait.
@LillianC14 Do you know if the dlc is on the cart?
Picking mine up in 20 minutes - whoop!
@ToadBrigade the DLC is in the cartridge, I believe.
Picking up my preorder tonight! And my Hardcore Mecha cartridge from Amazon Japan arrived on Monday, while I'm still trying to progress in Y's Origin and keep my pumpkins growing in Animal Crossing. And Hyrule Warriors looming next month! It's game overload lately!! @[email protected];;
Even so, I loved the original Crypt of the Necrodancer so I'm really looking forward to Cadence. I held off for this physical release and I'm thrilled it has all the DLC on it.
Had it pre-ordered since a couple of months back, it was sent yesterday. Hoped it would have arrived today, but nope. Now I have to wait until Monday. Sometimes I hate that Nintendo games releases on Fridays. Very much looking forward to this game!
But I have a lot of other games to play. Got the LRG version of Turok and the Japanese physical release of Okami the other day. Great games!
Mine has been delivered. Looking forward to playing it when I get home from work 😎
DLC is not on the cartridge! What a crap move by Nintendo!!!
Yes! Although I already have the digital version, I cant pass this up. This one and hyrule warriors are my favourite zelda games because of the replay value they offer.
@michael-the-great
But it is on the cartrigde. Otherwise, where is it?
I picked my copy today and opened it, nothing was inside the box. Anyway, two things proved disappointing: box is completely white inside, not even the usual artwork; game doesn't give any gold points.
@JasmineDragon Librarian here! H for Hyrule and C for Cadence is how we'll be shelving the games when they arrive and get through processing.
if the dlc is not on the cart, maybe that should be stated on the box itself without unnecessary confusion
Yep wanted the box.
Picked up my preorder earlier. It's still addictive
@SuperCharlie78 I just picked mine up from BestBuy and the inside art isn't white, its just a repeat of the outside art without the logo though. I also was able to redeem the gold coins, not sure what happened with your copy. And @DarkLloyd the DLC is definitely on the cart, not sure why so many ppl think its not
Here's the problem with the physical copy release (no, it's not the box art): It's been placed at such an awful time for players. Around the same time, you have The Crown Tundra, and in LESS THAN A MONTH, Age of Calamity is coming out. For a rogue-like game that can take a sheer amount of skill to play, how do you expect someone completes the game plus the DLC within less than a month before AoC comes out?
Is the dlc on the card or is it a code in the box?
@Mrd8202
Sometimes it’s hard to know if a physical will come out at all.
I bought Sonic Mania & Cadence before physical, but luckily I didn’t buy any Ori yet, definitely need those physical.
@JasmineDragon
I display all my game series’s in timeline order with non-cannon games at the back.
My Zelda games go: Start, Child timeline, Adult timeline, Downfall timeline, Breath of the Wild timeline, spinoff’s. So Cadence & Hyrule Warriors (original) would be at the back and Age of Calamity would Go before Breath of the Wild.
@SuperCharlie78
For some regions it has inside art and gives gold points
