Re: Talking Point: What We Love And Hate About The Nintendo Switch Online Smartphone App

SuperCharlie78

the app is Nintendo being Nintendo.
They deliver some of the best games in the industry, but when it comes to online funcionalities, they're absolutely inadequate.

Please let's remember the year 2005, when the Xbox 360 was bundled with a headset and you could start a voice chat CROSS GAMES, with no issues regarding the audio of the game you were playing. You called a friend, started to chat, while the two were playing totally different games, just to prepare for some coop or anithing to do together.
And what if you wanted to invite some other friends to the battle? Naturally, you did this with the INVITE A FRIEND feature. Your friend would see a pop up message from you, "Charlie wants you to play Halo", just click, accept and the system itself, after saying he must change the game disc, would THROW HIM DIRECTLY INTO THE LOBBY.

Now let's consider the Nintendo Switch Online whole system, where you can't even send a private text message to your friends...

Oh Nintendo, I love you so much, but sometimes I think you really deserve to fail hard

Re: The Nintendo Switch Mobile App Has Been Updated To Support Voice Chat On More Games

SuperCharlie78

@Balta666
Actually, Splatoon 2 is currently the (way more) complicated of them all. You have to follow several steps in order to reach your friends (and only them) via voice chat. With the other games, you start the smartphone app, say you want to voice chat and you can do it with everyone in the current lobby.
It's likely they'll simplify Splatoon 2 voice chat system with the upcoming October update

Re: Cosmic Star Heroine Dev Explains Its "Frustrating" Experience Working With Nintendo

SuperCharlie78

@Stu13 yes, maybe the pre-order discount came later. I remember not finding the trailer, though. This is a shame, actually

But again, I doubt they "bombed" because of that.

And yeah, there are 20 releases per week, but things are even worse on other platforms. Probably they should have promoted the game themselves and with some exclusive content, especially this being a 2 years old port

Re: Cosmic Star Heroine Dev Explains Its "Frustrating" Experience Working With Nintendo

SuperCharlie78

It's not that with an updated and better eShop UI you'd get Cosmic Star Heroine in your face every time you get there.

This is when you go on sale or post in your news channel (did Nintendo refuse to give them a channel in the news section?)

I just read this on Gonintendo, they also say the Switch version sold 2/3rds of the PS4 one, which is fine I think, considering there are 80 millions PS4 and 20 millions Switch in the world currently. So this should've been 25% of PS4 sales, 66% is good.

As for me, I was on the fence and almost bought this game when it released, but the review from this very site kept me away from it. I'm enjoying Octopath so I should be fine with CSH? Mhhh I highly doubt

Re: Review: Okami HD (Switch eShop)

SuperCharlie78

This will be the third time I purchase this game.
I love It to the point I also bought the official artbook and the gorgeous OST. Oh and I bought Okamiden collector's edition directly from the Japanese Capcom store, too.

Re: Review: Iconoclasts (Switch eShop)

SuperCharlie78

the amount of good games is embarassing, frankly

I'm involved with Aces and Octopath at the moment, let alone other games waiting. I'm forced to pass on this, Salt&Sanctuary and Dead Cells, unfortunately. There's simply not enough time to play all the good Switch games, and this is going to get even worse with the insane amount of games releasing weekly. Oh...

Re: Fans Are Calling Out Nintendo And Camelot For "Lazy" Mario Tennis Aces

SuperCharlie78

@denis09

Yeah, I agree.
We also must say the gameplay here is stellar, no less. It's easy to pick, (very) hard to master.
This is not enough for some players, I can't blame them and it's the reason why I give it a 7 at best.

Not that I like this trend, far from it, but there's room for improvement here, they must balance some characters and add options that are lacking atm. Better than nothing I think. Question is: will they support the game this way? I think they won't, but let's see

Re: Fans Are Calling Out Nintendo And Camelot For "Lazy" Mario Tennis Aces

SuperCharlie78

@Moroboshi876

I understand. But this is up to you. Play matches, lose a lot and learn something every time.

This is because the gameplay mechanics are almost too deep and it takes time to master them all. Focus on one character at a time and learn how to manage their strenghts and weaknesses, then try to study your opponent during the very first points

Re: Fans Are Calling Out Nintendo And Camelot For "Lazy" Mario Tennis Aces

SuperCharlie78

Both Kirby and Mario Tennis are very cheap games. The adventure mode is disappointing and not for the lack of gem models...

That said I'm enjoying the online multiplayer a lot, the tournament system is brilliant and you get a sense of progressive difficulty like in a real tournament, more or less.

You just have to skip Bowser Jr. which is OP, and well completely ignore Toad and Toadette, you're not going far with them.

I'm quite good with Peach lately, 3 tournaments and a 76% win rate in july.

I don't expect Camelot to read these complaints and patch the game by nerfing and buffing characters. I'd like to be proved wrong though

Re: Nintendo Switch Now Has Over 700 Games

SuperCharlie78

I simply cannot hold all these games, despite the fact I'm a 10+ gaming hours per week player.
Now Hollow Knight, next week Just Shapes and Mario Tennis, oh and the Octo expansion available now... And the new Octopath demo, and all the games waiting on my micro SD. Then there is my eShop wishlist, which is embarassing to say the least

Re: Review: Ikaruga (Switch eShop)

SuperCharlie78

@JJ286
Please consider this is a shoot em up, and it's hard, I mean really hard.
That said I think this is a real masterpiece and even if you aren't that good at shmups, as you can read in this excellent review, you can still enjoy the game by playing it on easy difficulty and with infinite continues. Even this way you should enjoy it visually. Not to mention the ridiculously good OST, which I'd say is worth the asking price alone.
If you are keen to master this game by improving your skills, then you're in for a treat.
