No Indie World Showcase would be complete without a couple of games surprise-launching right after the show, so here's There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension to give you some fresh and immediate entertainment.
While the Indie Showcase didn't do the best job of telling us what it's all about, There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension is a comedy-focused point-and-click adventure that "takes you on a journey you never asked to go on". That journey just so happens to be full of "silly and unexpected" video game universes, and the trailer above does a pretty good job of showing just how bonkers the entire thing seems to be.
Equally fitting is this official feature list:
Features:
- A Point&Click comedy adventure.
- Incredible 3D graphics that are flat. Completely flat. And very pixelated.
- Almost fully voiced. (May contain traces of foreign accents here and there.)
- Solve riddles that require you to think "Outside the box".
- Hint system included because you can't think "Outside the box"...
- Shorter than an MMORPG, which leaves you plenty of time to finish some REAL good games.
- Discover the Top 10 best walls. The fourth one will surprise you!
- Motion sickness free, which is pretty remarkable for a non-VR experience.
- Contains tons of bugs... but it’s supposed to be like that.
- And lots of other surprises!
Oh, and these screenshots:
If you want to give this one a whirl, it's available on the eShop right now for $12.99. If you're looking for something a little different, you've certainly found it.

This could be great. Fingers crossed.
I've heard a lot of good things
Just bought! Overwhelmingly positive on Steam, highly rated on Metacritic! Should be great!
Was really funny.
The game was so much fun.
@geox30 Yeah, this. Bought lol
Played on PC. If it looks appealing then it's probably up your alley. Very funny, very clever, and surprisingly moving story.
If it's got a down side is that a lot of its jokes depend on you either knowing video game development, or knowing the game genres it's playing with. It's not too bad - even non-fans have played a Zelda or seen a Lucasarts style adventure game, the two kinds of games it most remixes. And most of us know the vague outlines of the indiepocolypse to get the story, even if you've never written a line of code. Still, some people might find that offputting.
But other than that, the puzzles are clever remixes without making you consult a walk through constantly, and the jokes are legit funny. Really enjoyed it.
I wonder if it's related to the "There is no Game" flash game, probably.
@Saturn589 I was wondering the same thing. This looks very different though. I really enjoyed the flash one, considering it was free.
I bought this on my phone just a week ago. It’s great, but I would have waited if I knew it was coming to Switch!
@GrailUK it’s absolutely amazing. You should definitely check it out!!!
Coooool I was intrigued by the trailer, and also very hesitant, like this can’t be good can it!? Based on the above comments, I guess it could!
@Blooper987 Oh, nice! I will do
I love that feature list. That is hilarious!
I read the features in Game's voice. This one kind of sticks with you after you're done.
Unfortunately, I watched a playthrough and now I wish I didn't. The exploration and discovery is the best part. If I can somehow forget enough of the game, then I can try it. The tricky part is that every situation is so unique, my brain is still remembering a lot. So it might not happen, ever.
this was the only good part of a rubbish indie world imo
Played it on PC, was pretty funny!
Watched a Let's Play of this, no idea if I'll get it myself...but I could tell it's really good.
Seeing how some of the story is based on true events. It's nice to see they have it on here as well.
Heh, this is the first time I've seen a video game where the user yourself is the main antagonist since "Teen Titans" on GameCube.
So I got to the part with the Flying Squirrel OS, and it was making these absurdly obnoxious noises incessantly. It was irritating to the point that I had to quit the game. Also, the windows of the OS were being opened and buttons clicked only by hovering over them, without hitting any buttons! I wasn't sure if the game was glitching or what. It was really strange. Has anyone else experienced this??
This one the Aggie Award (Adventure Gamers) for Best Adventure Game of the Year.
