Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo's Game Design Prowess Solve Discoverability Problems On Switch eShop?

SuperCharlie78

@JHDK
Yeah, it is.
It does a great job to give games exposure in any possible way:

  • everybody can get their news channel. If gamers are interested they can submit, if they're not, well, luckily they can ignore games;
  • The "Discover" tab is great, in which it has the game of the day and the offer of the day to give game exposure, again. The game of the day can surprise you more often than not with choices that go in that very direction. But the writer here wants games like Brain Training or Ni No Kuni to be more visible, oh boy...
  • New releases and coming soon sections are fine, you simply can go so far with around 3000 games available;
  • you can sort games by publisher, genres, price (maybe, I'm not sure), it's not that you have to scroll the new releases and that's it;
  • the wishlist is fine too. Just wishlist a game and look at the list periodically and you'll see what games are on offer;

the music... Oh the music, the legendary music which is capable of giving indie games visibility! And Mario going around and enter the paintings with thousands of games icons to find more, what a fancy and lenghty way to scroll into games lists!

Re: Video: Nintendo Switch Lite Treated To The Flashiest Of New Trailers

SuperCharlie78

I simply don't need it, why would I? I'm perfectly fine with the OG model, no issues at all (well, besides the red/blue joycon with that infamous drifting, of course). In fact, I'm more interested in the first Switch revision with that sweet extended battery life.
This is about me, though. Regarding my 4 children, mhhhhhh. Oh Nintendo, you sure want my money badly, don't you?

Re: Review: Untitled Goose Game - Short But Most Definitely Sweet

SuperCharlie78

@Mamabear same with Sayonara Wild Hearts, which I got yesterday. Although that one is a more intense affair maybe. I'm sadly skipping the goose because I feel I don't get enough value for money. I'm not short on games though, no problem. I simply can't justify 15€ for 2 hours of content with little replayability. I don't like wasting 15€ for the cinema, neither. But I happily spend 15€ for a big burger and a pint of beer in the pub... Mhhh

Re: Soapbox: Sorry Nintendo, Joy-Con Drift Means I Won't Buy Switch Lite At Launch

SuperCharlie78

The joycon drift is real guys, but it's unlikely the Switch Lite will suffer from this, given the amount of drifting joycon Nintendo has got sent back.
Do you know what causes the drifting? @Damo
It's the stick that scratches on some graphite which they put on the base of the mechanism, producing some graphite powder that, when it lands onto the electrical contacts, causes the drifting issue.
That's why they say some contact cleaner spray helps to fix the issue, at least temporarily.

Re: Video: 17 Nintendo Switch Games Coming This Month

My wallet: "Can I have some mercy, please?"
Me: "HAHAHAHA"

There are also 2 interesting shmups coming, Pawarumi and Raiden V. I say it because I'm a bit obsessed by them recently.
Rolling Gunner released a few weeks ago, Psyvariar Delta had a stealth release last week, now these two.
Meanwhile, I'm playing the excellent Steredenn

Re: Talking Point: The Changing Definition Of ‘The Nintendo Difference’

SuperCharlie78

Nintendo: you love it like crazy, you hate it at the same time.
They do exactly what the article points out, but they keep making great games. I think at this point it should be pretty clear that they'll never change, no matter how much we complain.
You say it, Maker 2 is going to be a blast nevertheless, you'll buy it proving they're right, basically.

Re: Feature: The Ever-Changing World Of Nintendo Switch Menu Icons

SuperCharlie78

Icons are more important on Switch than other systems because, with the minimalist home menu screen, they are front and centre.

More, I as a gamer am a little compulsive and icons represent my Switch games collection. S****y icon=no buy. With dozens of good games on the system I can well select them also by their icon

If it had zero importance, why would Nintendo release those guidelines? In fact, all Nintendo icons respect them and are gorgeous as a result.

No title? S****y icon, no buy

But what really annoys the most, as the lovely guys on Resetera point out, is the fact all games have a RIGHT icon on the website, a correct one in line with the guidelines, but frustratingly end up with a generic, bad one with no title
