Re: Forget The PS4, Koei Tecmo Reckons Switch 2 Is Closer To Xbox Series S

Strumpan

It's probably somewhere in between. The OG Switch was plenty more powerful than the 11 years old PS3, but quite far from the 4 years old PS4. Switch 2 is in a similar space between the 12 years old PS4 and the 6 years old PS5, probably closer to PS4 than PS5. I think the PS4 is more relevant today than the PS3 was when the Switch 1 launched, so I'm fine with this, they probably hit a good spot with regards to price, battery life and power.

Re: Opinion: A Few Too Many Questions & Unwelcome Surprises Are Taking The Shine Off The Switch 2 Reveal

@Grimley141 There is definitely an element of that in the criticism, but I've seen quite a lot of either "this is bad because I won't buy at that price" or "this is bad because the steep price will make the console flop" and these are things that could mean Nintendo will make less of a profit than with a lower price point. For a company to be profitable, it has to be good at predicting the market value of its products.

Re: Opinion: I Didn't Realise How Much I'd Missed 'Traditional' Zelda Dungeons

Strumpan

That's an interesting opinion, because to me, what I miss the most in this game IS clever puzzles like in the old Zelda games. All dungeons (all the way to the end) have been a breeze and all puzzles were super easy. I loved feeling clever about finally solving that intricate puzzle in the Zelda dungeons after being stuck for hours. This felt very lacking. Apart from the puzzles, I loved everything about the game, but yeah, a bit disappointed.

Re: Switch On Track To Surpass PS2's Lifetime Sales In The US

Strumpan

@Dr_Lugae No, the last official number is 150 millions, from 2011, two years before they stopped production of the PS2. The number 155 millions is a good estimate from early 2012, and it probably sold a few more millions after that. Which would mean that Ryan's 160 millions is probably a pretty good figure (rounded up obviously), even if it wasn't meant as an official statement.

Re: Review: Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (Switch) - Even Better Than The Stellar Original

If allowing to save anywhere was a better option, they could have implemented it in the original, it's not like that is some kind of innovation. Spaced out save points is a feature that brings tension. I don't really like calling the removal of features a "quality of life" improvement. Sure, you can argue that it's a better design choice, but they didn't work hard to implement it.
