@Scrubicius It's in the eshop, choose download demo at Monster Hunter Rise (not Sunbreak preorder), then you get to choose the old demo for Rise or the new demo for Rise Sunbreak.
@I_Go_by_Many_Names I'm so happy they decided to leave out that stupid gamifying of games on this console. I know I can technically ignore achievements, but I always have to actively decide to not fall into that trap whenever I play games on my Vita or PS4.
It's so strange they make these types of deals when it comes to video games, whereas in movies, all the musical rights are done so that as long as you have the right to the movie, you can rerelease it as often as you want and the musical rights are taken care of each time.
I believe this will be the base game without dlc, otherwise they would have advertised it with dlc. Getting it either way, I haven't bought the digital version in anticipation of this.
I've always enjoyed the online part of previous Monster Hunter games, but in World and especially in Rise it's been much worse. Not only because the old lobby system made you actually connect with other players over several quests, but also because the monsters now scale with the number of players, which makes them easier to solo. That, and the crazy amount of lightning and particle effects makes it impossible to see what is happening when 4 players plus palamutes and palicoes fight at the same time.
@BispoSnake SMT IV is one of my favourite RPGs ever. I didn't like Apocalypse very much, but Strange Journey is also really good. As for Etrian Odyssey, they're really good games, but kind of similar. I couldn't get into EO IV for some reason however, so that one is different I suppose. Maybe because it was the first one on 3ds?
To me, I really like to start with older games in a series, not for story reasons, but to understand how the gameplay mechanics have evolved. Very often, new mechanics are added to a new game in a series not necessarily to make the game better, but to change things up. There are countless examples of this, but I'll take Pikmin as an example. The addition of new types of pikmin in Pikmin 2 is really cool if you come from the first game and have already learned how to use the yellow, blue and red pikmin. New pikmin types! Cool, right? Well, if Pikmin 2 is your first game in the series you kind of feel like the purple and white pikmin are a little lame. Starting with Pikmin 1 will make you appreciate the mechanics of Pikmin 2 so much more. And this is how it works for many other game series.
A good review criticising things like framerate issues should also compare it to the original. It was so long ago I have no idea if that was a problem in the original game.
@blindsquarel You don't have to play multiplayer. The game is easier than other Monster Hunter games (even considering it's the base game without G-rank).
@Neoicelord On the one hand I wouldn't necessarily call MH an rpg. On the other hand, if animation cancelling is your favourite part of action rpg's, maybe play another game instead.
The main problem to me is I don't get to keep the games or DLC:s when I stop subscribing or the service shuts down. If I had no other way of playing Banjo Kazooie, or if the Mario Kart DLC were exclusive to NSO, it would have been interesting at least.
Oh, the fan favourite game Zelda 64, I remember that. Anyway, the video looks nice and all, as the hobby project it is. It's a bit like recreating these old games in Minecraft. Impressive, but we don't want an actual Zelda game to look like that.
Played through GTA 3 on the PS Vita. The port works perfectly and it's a really good game. (Vice City and San Andreas brought in tediousness into the formula, so I didn't bother to finish them.) The new versions remove some of the soul from the visuals.
I mean, of course this is a ***** move by Nintendo, but sadly, if their actions are close to legal, they have enough money to stay safe.
Edit: I find the censoring of words like this hilarious. Now everyone who reads it will still read the word in their own mind, so the only difference is the actual letters aren't there. It's like believing the spelled out word has some kind of magic power that the censored version doesn't.
@Williamfuchs420 World is 5, but since Rise is made by the other team, it's likely it wouldn't have been called "6" if they still used numbers. But since they don't, that doesn't really matter.
@Matty1988 I understand what you mean, but I enjoyed the backtracking in that game. I think the atmosphere and the hostility of the environment is one of the most important aspects of Metroid to me, and that was amazingly well done in Echoes.
@Dethmunk Agreed on the controls. That's why the Trilogy is the best way to play the two good games in the series (but you need to change the sensitivity to "advanced" or whatever they called the highest setting).
I don't know whay you are insinuating, but Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is the best in the series. (MP3 is obviously the worst, so things can go either way)
@Specter_of-the_OLED 1, 2 and If are already on the Japanese Nintendo Switch Online. An official translation of the first game would be a nice surprise.
It was a fantastic year for 3rd party games on the Switch, with Monster Hunter, No More Heroes and SMT. As for 1st party, Metroid Dread was the star together with WarioWare.
Yes, but as has been said already, the ability to load roms from SD will not be there from the start, even though it's a pretty safe bet it will be added via "jailbreak", as for the other Analogue machines.

Re: Atari Goes WarioWare In Microgame Collection 'Atari Mania' Out This Summer
@Vyacheslav333 Of course, I meant a sequel to NES Remix 2. Preferably with remixes of games from other Nintendo platforms as well.
Re: Atari Goes WarioWare In Microgame Collection 'Atari Mania' Out This Summer
Nintendo should put NES Remix on the Switch and also make a sequel. Btw, the "modern" graphics in the screenshots look AWFUL!

Re: Unreleased Quake Prototype For Game Boy Advance Discovered
That's extremely impressive. But it would need a NIN soundtrack to be the real thing.

Speedrunning seems a bit strange when it's not the official original game. Noone can tell if you tweaked a parameter in the code ever so slightly.

@eaglebob345 OK, I see how you mean. Personally, I don't really care if it comes out later, but I understand the issue.

@Spunky Regarding the minis games, Minis on the move is quite different from the others in the series and I like it a lot more.

Two games I just bought that were surprisingly good are Pocket card jockey and Mario & DK: Minis on the move.

Edit: Spain is the answer to your second question, so... don't know about Xbox.

Re: Reminder: The Analogue Pocket Will Be Available To Pre-Order Again Today
@Meteoroid Even if you load it with roms from an SD card, it's still the FPGA reading them, which means no emulation.
