@AtlanteanMan To me, the large investment I put into games is time rather than money. I am full-time employed, so I earn more money in an hour than what I pay for a video game. So I see the 300+ hours I put into a game like Monster Hunter as a negative. Of course, the experience I get from the game is totally worth that investment. But it also means I see a shorter game like Bayonetta 3 as giving a much better return for the investment, so to speak.

At the reveal, I felt it looked a bit cartoony, and thought the enemies were a little "cutified", but then I did a side-by-side comparison with the original and realised the enemy models are very similar, but the low resolution in the old game made them "jaggier" and less round.

@Serpenterror Metroid Prime Trilogy om the Wii U was just the Wii version, not in HD.

@Bunkerneath In my opinion, Viola was a great character, fun to play and felt like a real human being.

It's insane that you can have a mandatory EULA for your product that states that the law doesn't apply to your product!

@Warioware When it comes to combat, I definitely preferred B3 over B2, and I really liked the Jeanne levels and the variation they brought. But yes, there are quite a few things in the game that could have been better given just a little more time and thought. I think there have been some problems during development in that they bit off a little more than they could chew. But ultimately, most of the game was pure joy to play through, and it's definitely among my top five games on the platform.

@Warioware At least when it comes to graphics, B2 is much more polished, yes. Overall I think B3 is a much better game and Viola is a great and very human character. I didn't like the design changes of the main character, but they of course make sense in a way.

That's roughly 102 cm for civilised people.

The Persona games (now on Switch) are great spinoffs from Shin Megami Tensei. They really belong on this list.

Japanese Joe has a much cooler pose, plus cherry petals. Jump kick? Come on, we've seen jump kicks before.

@Jiggies Since the word "warui" (or "walui") is the origin of the naming, one might argue that Waluigi is an even better name than Wario.

@LUIGITORNADO The Japanese word is "warui", meaning something like "bad", so "warupeach" or "walupeach" would make sense.

As long as I know for how long I can play the game before the servers shut down, and I get to pay for that time only, cloud based gaming is a good idea. Either implement it like NSO, where I pay the same every year, but have a large selection of games to choose from, or let me rent each game separately and let me pay a few dollars a year.

Finished all endings A-Z in Nier Automata, but saving some sidequests to have a goal when I want to go back in a few years time.

Why is the N64 version of RE2 here and not the GC version?

@westman98 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the only game Platinum developed between Nier Automata and Bayonetta 3 that didn't target 60 fps is Astral Chain (30 fps).

@jrt87 This happens not because the Switch is weak, but because developers bite off more than they can chew (or in many other cases because it is too much work to make a downscaled port). There have been games with a stable 60 fps for over 40 years and Bayonetta 3 is not ported from more powerful hardware.

I love the games, so yes. I really don't like the new voice actor as much as Taylor, but that's a minor issue.

The library would be fine if it was about buying games that you get to keep. If they want me to subscribe for the ability to play for as long as I keep adding money, the library would need to be much bigger, with more systems.

Preordered from SE to also get a t-shirt, but there is a 4 week delivery period, so I will probably be playing Bayonetta 3 when it arrives. Good thing it's an old game, so I can be patient.

@BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed Not only Tropical Freeze, the Wii U has both Rayman Legends and Yoshi's Woolly World which are two more platformers way better than NSMBU. But of course, TF stands above them all.

@Iconoclysm Well, the widths are roughly the same for all three, but the length of the AP is about the same as the GB, but a centimeter shorter than the 3ds xl, whereas the thickness of the AP is about the same as the 3ds xl, but a centimeter thinner than the GB. So, sure, a Gameboy case might be too thick, but I know many people use them for the AP. And since the 3ds xl is longer than the AP, I suppose such a case would also work.

I have them on the Wii U, and just played through Bayonetta 2 again. I'm going to miss being able to use headphones through the controller when B3 arrives.

@Hordak I heard good things about the Peli 1040 (Pelican 1040 in the US). You want to have foam in it as well. But otherwise, any case for the original Gameboy would probably fit.

3D televisions were a thing some years ago, so who knows?

Bayonetta 2 looks fantastic in 60 fps on the Wii U. If this game struggles, it's not because the hardware is too weak, it's because Platinum tried to pull off too advanced graphics.

@Dr_Luigi The difference is that the game is still downloaded onto your SD card (and you can make a backup) even after the servers shut down. With a cloud game, they might just close the service a month after you "bought" the game. A subscription would be a great idea, I could see myself paying for a year worth of playing a cloud-based game.

@hel105 The Vita collection with 2 and 3 plus the MSX originals is probably the best reason to own a Vita.

@Mario500 Yes, the Wii U can play Gamecube games natively (because the Wii was backwards compatible with the Gamecube), but that feature is turned off by default on the Wii U. Nintendont is a homebrew app that turns it on.

Easily one of the top 5 Switch games.

@Sunsy Also, with Nintendon't making it able to play Gamecube games natively, the Wii U has a fantastic library over the three generations it covers.

As has been said already, Nintendo is a large company, so it should be no surprise that they try to violate workers' rights. Reggie also said recently he didn't believe unions were necessary... Hopefully this can lead to some changes within the company.

This seems like a great update, quite a bit of nostalgia attached to old Luce for me. However, that random armour upgrade system is an awful idea!

@skywake I would rather have all my dowlnloaded games on one SD card and not have to swap between several, so I try to get any game over a few GB on cart.

@iaLgan I also miss classic MH, but with Sunbreak, the fast action version of MH is now fully realised and I enjoy it a lot for what it is. Much better than base Rise. Plus, I can still go back to MH3U on my Wii U or even MHGU on Switch for a more classic experience.

@Bunkerneath Yes, if they would bundle it with a Wii-style IR-pointer and sensor bar, I'd buy it instantly!

I miss being stuck at a game for months before finally figuring it out. They don't do games like that anymore (which makes sense because most people would just play another game instead).

Lots of fun playing these again! The only problem I have come across is the tiny font for the subtitles. A stupid and common mistake in Switch ports.
