@amongtheworms Kids these days, I tell ya. I may have lost five toenails, a spleen, and my immortal soul, but it got me what I needed to catch all 150 Pokémon and get that certificate you could print out using a Game Boy Printer. Totally worth it!
The saddest part is you know someone's going to buy one of these not knowing any better, show up at the event, and suddenly find themselves in BIG trouble.
What, you all didn't do it this way on the playground as kids? "Cool, you have the Blastoise I want and I have your Charizard! Let's trade!! First, you set eight of your duplicate Pikachus on fire, I'll throw away my entire binder, then we'll each go home, find our parents' most expensive jewelry, give it all to the guy down at the grocery store where we bought the packs, and then we should be able to...hey, where are you going?"
Heck, we didn't even make it to the later stages, playing co-op is so trying that we decided by the end of World 1 we'd have more fun taking turns playing single player.
Never played The Sims 1, and I bounced off 3 and 4 almost immediately when I tried them out, but whoa, I was INCREDIBLY addicted to The Sims 2. I would buy it for the Switch 2 (or PS5 even) in a heartbeat!
There wasn't one even vaguely close to me, I passed on applying. It might have been to cool to go, but I'll have my hands on it by the end of the year (and for many years after that, hopefully) so it all works out.
It's certainly a lovely steelbook, but not lovely enough for me to double dip when I already own a physical 4K copy (which we just watched last night for the first time in well over a year, very weird timing). I am tempted to buy it, though, just to support the dying breed that is physical media. We want to pick up Wicked when it comes out in a couple weeks, but with every store around us having shuttered their physical movie section we're likely going to have to order it online.
Ending Majora's Mask just doesn't feel right without beating all four temple bosses and doing the Anju and Kafei quest in its entirety during the final cycle.
My 6 Year Old: "Can we get the new Donkey Kong?" Me: "I don't know...I've played it before and it's really hard. I don't know if you're ready for it." My 6 Year Old: "I could play it!" Me: "I kinda want it too...if we get it, I'm not helping you with it, you have to keep trying on your own." My 6 Year Old: "That's okay!" (Buys DKCR HD, 6 Year Old plays it for no more than three minutes) My 6 Year Old: "This is too hard, will you help me with this part?" Me: "No." My 6 Year Old: "Can I have Detective Pikachu back in my Switch?"
I may not be making money at it, but the bright side is that I know when I rush to open packs of the new Pokémon TCG Pocket set next week I won't end up sprawled on the floor of a Target with a single bent Eevee card clasped in my hand, struggling to stay conscious from the pain of a broken collarbone. It's the little things.
I'd go into a new Banjo with an open mind, but...yeah. Banjo-Kazooie is actually my favorite N64 game, but I can't say I really enjoy any of the others. Tooie was fun when it first came out, but over the years I've found it to be too sprawling and unfocused in its execution. And Nuts and Bolts, game design merits aside, deviated so far away from anything that came before that it's really hard to think of it as a true Banjo game. Grunty's Revenge was alright, though. Not super great, but alright!
Popping my head out of the water finally, hi there, hello, I'm trans. Why did I come out now when people like me are the current bad guys of society? Beats me. But anywho, I owned TTYD for the Gamecube but never really played it (couldn't get into it), but it was all the buzz about Vivian's identity that finally got me to play it on the Switch. It clicked this time and I loved it (as a whole), and I felt they handled Vivian's identity wonderfully. Not that anyone knew who I was, but I actually dressed as her for Halloween this past year, and it was probably the first time I ever felt connected to a costume in any way. It was incredibly nice in a sea of haunting politicized fear mongering to see a simple, very much blink-and-you'll-miss-it reference to who I am done well. As others have said here, as we move forward into the new frontier of whatever awaits us these next few years, please remember that trans people are people, not a politician's boogeyman. We have families and loves and jobs and just want to exist. And play TTYD. I don't know much about GLAAD as an organization, but Nintendo deserves at least a little recognition for at the minimum not sanitizing a couple lines of dialogue in a game where a plumber exposes corruption at a shady fight club in the sky.

I bought this, played it for a couple days, then proceeded to completely forget about it. I should jump back in!

Re: Random: Italian Site Lists Switch 2 Pre-Orders For Just 15€ More Than Switch OLED RRP
I don't believe that price is true...but my intense desire to believe it is almost overpowering.
