Re: Memory Pak: Making Contact With The "Ungoogleable" Game I Couldn't Quite Remember

SpeedRunRocks

Mostly old educational PC stuff from elementary school computer class in the 90s, but I'm pretty sure I remember all of it.

Spelunx
Odell Down Under
Kid Pix
The 'Munchers' series
The 'Super Solvers' series
The 'Trail' series

But the MECC educational giant floppy disk jams for green screen Apple ii, those I would have to dig around a bit to come up with a title.

Oh dang, I just remembered Glider! Now that's a tasty jam.

I have a Sharp Twin Famicom Turbo and a few gems. It's pretty rad:
Battletoads (with easier difficulty)
Crisis Force
Duck Tales 2
Gun Nac
Turtles Manhattan Project
Yume Penguin Monogatari

It's a big, important weekend I guess! The two most influential parts of my childhood--the Famicom and Metallica Kill Em All--turn 40, and I'm laying drums down for a record. It's all coming together...

Check out the band Electric Assault!

Re: Square Enix's Dragon Quest Series Has Now Sold Over 88 Million Units Worldwide

I largely ignored the series until I got hooked by the XI S demo. The cutscenes are the best looking graphics I've seen the Switch pull off! It's awesome that Mario RPG is getting the same treatment.

Anyway, I played through the full game, but stopped short of all the post-game stuff. It was essentially a 300-floppy-disk-deep 1980s computer text and menu navigation adventure when you strip away the awesome visuals.

It was badass, but 80 hours at that point was enough for me. Stoked for XII!
