Re: Review: Kunitsu-Gami: Path Of The Goddess (Switch 2) - Tower Defence With A Twist In Capcom's Gorgeous, Yokai-Slaying Hybrid

SirLink

I'm not into the tower defense genre (I've been hating MH Rise rampage missions indeed), but I'm still looking forward to play this game since I heard it's probably the closest thing to Okami we'll ever get. Also, I love Japanese folklore and the works based on the yokai world, so the environment is perfect.
I hope this game is going to make me change my mind about the tower defense genre and that I find the gameplay enjoyable. It shouldn't even take too long to beat, and that's a pro for me.
Something tells me this game deserves a proper physical edition.

Re: Mario Kart World Guide - All Courses, Cups, Missions, Collectibles, Tips & Tricks

SirLink

Man, the speed might seem a bit slow but the game's surely still challenging! Today I managed to get 3 stars out of all the 100cc cups and almost went crazy. Thank you very much for the advises, they'll surely turn very useful when I get to the P-switch challenges, I already tried to beat some of them in free roam mode but no luck so far.
Anyway, the textures are amazing, whoever made them really deserves a special mention. I'm playing this game mainly in portable mode just to enjoy the screen's super refresh rate, since my TVs are a bit suckish.

Re: Review: Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour - Surprising, Delightful, And You Know Where It Belongs

SirLink

It's a very well-made tour, understandable to anyone, of any age, and some of the minigames are really challenging. It's fun, informative and interesting, and it shares knowledge about some details that we would probably never hear about otherwise.

Complaining about having to pay for it is fine for those who have never been in the Nintendo world, but for those who are already used to spending absurd amounts of money on games without saying a word (yes, dear reader, I'm talking about YOU who are reading this) frankly it sounds ridiculous and just an excuse to complain about everything.

Sure, Nintendo hasn't missed an opportunity to advertise the accessories by making some minigames playable exclusively with them, but no one is forced to play them.

Re: YouTube Is Working With Nintendo To Make Its App Available On Switch 2

SirLink

I LOVE having youtube on my Switch and I really hope they manage to port it on Switch 2 too. It's really handy even for watching stuff on the go without having to discharge my mobile or as a sleep aid.
Actually, it would be an amazing achievement if they managed to make it work without having to close another game first. In this way you could snoop on some video walkthrough and then get back to your game when you have some problem advancing through it.

Re: Review: The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - The Best Way To Play, But 'Zelda Notes' Sucks

SirLink

I took this upgrade as a good excuse to restart it from scratch today and I'm loving it, both in docked and portable modes. For some reason I don't know, I find that the framerate improvements somehow boost its "Miyazaki effect". I'm still sure the texture resolution could have been made more consistent tho, but there's time to improve that too.

Anyway, so far, I've been ignoring this Zelda Notes thingy, afterall it's annoying to look at two screens when they both aren't right in front of you. Moreover, I hate when games drain your phone battery.

So I'll either keep ignoring this thingy or just load it onto my tablet, but I have some doubts about the latter.

Re: Poll: Switch 2 Battery Reportedly Lasting Under Two Hours With Mario Kart - How Is Yours Holding Up?

SirLink

I still have a decent test to do, so I'll try some use cases tonight.
I can't pretend to be surprised though lol
As I said in a comment a while back, I was expecting about this amount of battery life. What I wasn't expecting though, is this substantial drain in sleep mode, which I find a bit excessive. So, I wonder if those who noticed this issue enabled network downloads in sleep mode (I'm sure I saw a setting like that somewhere). If not, I'm pretty sure Nintendo will fix this soon anyway.

Re: Switch 2 eShop "Top-Selling" Games At Launch Revealed

SirLink

@Overzeal

The game is not a paid tutorial, it’s a minigame collection and museum

Exactly! But people don't seem to get it. They seem to mistakenly associate a low price with a worthless product, yet they complain when they see the prices inflated to 70-80 € lol

Re: Switch 2 eShop "Top-Selling" Games At Launch Revealed

SirLink

1. Mario Kart World (bundled code)
2. Welcome Tour (yes, believe it or not it's worth its price)
3. BotW and TotK Switch 2 Edition upgrades (got them free with the NSO subscription for now)
4. Hogwarts Legacy Switch 2 Edition upgrade (10€ more)
5. No Man's Sky Switch 2 Edition upgrade (free)

I already planned to get Kunitsu-gami later on and Kirby and the Forgotten Land Switch 2 edition upgrade on release, but Metroid Prime 4 has an absolute priority.

Re: Random: One GameStop Apparently Stapled Receipts To Brand New Switch 2 Boxes, And Guess What Happened...

SirLink

Fortunately nothing like this happened here, but GS still managed to make me dislike them anyway.
I was talking to the shop assistant to get my Switch 2 and this guy says that he would have added a "4 year warranty" (something that's usually 10-20€ more in any shop here and that's really useless in most cases, as we have 2 year warranty by law) and their "superfabulous screen protection film", although I was already buying a Nintendo's casse which already contained one.

Well, when he told me about the total, it was 90€ more! They wanted 60€ for the warranty and 30€ FOR A SCREEN FILM ("but, you know, it's our special one"). So I said "thanks, but no thanks, just gimme the console and the case please", paid for them and left disgusted.

Re: Video: The First Full Switch 2 Hardware Teardown Is Here

SirLink

@Zufolobelisk lol I happened to take apart hardware that costed 4-5 times the price of a Switch 2 and do some soldering on the boards too. It really isn't rocket science, although it requires some practice and dedication. I personally wouldn't do anything on what's still under warranty unless there are really good reasons, but it's always good to see people trying to make it easier for others to intervene on hardware they bought. It really should be a matter of etiquette to not make consumer hardware that's incredibly difficult to repair.

Re: Feature: Farewell, Nintendo Switch - It's Finally Time To Bid Our Old Friend 'Adieu'

SirLink

I'm getting a Switch 2 on the 5th of this month, but it's not time to say goodbye to my Switch just yet.
I tried to get rid of it by trading in my old OLED, but after a couple weeks I ended up buying a 2nd hand TotK edition lol.
In fact, I predict that the new console won't have the battery life that many are expecting, and since it's a pretty expensive toy, I'd rather keep it at home and take the OLED out with me. Not to mention that backwards compatibility is still a bit of an enigma at the moment.

Re: Witcher 3 Celebrates 10 Years, Announces Mod Support For Consoles

SirLink

What an amazing game! It was a pleasure to play it on both PC and Switch on the go, despite the general complaints about the detail loss which I never listened to. In fact, this was what convinced me to get a Switch back then, despite being a bit disappointed that the 3DS was not a priority anymore for Nintendo, since I didn't have enough spare time to play this game at home.
To be honest, I still haven't had the chance to play the mods, I only stopped after beating the DLCs, so this announce is very welcome.
That said, I also hope we'll get an enhanced edition for Switch 2 too at some point, because it fully deserves to reach the new console.

Re: Poll: With One Week To Go, What Are Your Switch 2 Launch-Day Plans?

SirLink

I have 2 days off work + the whole week end to play with the new console.
On D1 I'm going to get the bundled Mario Kart World + the Welcome Tour. No reason for me to get the Switch 2 editions of the Zelda's since I'll get them with NSO anyway. I don't see anything else worth a D1 buy. I might get Hitman and Kunitsu Gami later on tho.
About the accessories, I'm not ashamed to say that I already ordered 2 mouse supports for the joycons and a 3rd party carrying case from a famous Chinese website, since Nintendo's one is priced insanely.
Oh yeah, I also got a 256GB Sandisk microSD express from Amazon.

Re: Nintendo Gives Us A Closer Look At Switch 2's "All-In-One" Carrying Case

SirLink

Crazy price for a useless gadget. Even I bought a 3rd party "all-in-one" carrying case for my OLED for less than 15€ in a local shop here and, despite being perfect, I ended up on never using it.

If you really really need something like this, just wait for 3rd party ones. You don't need Nintendo's officially approval, manufacturers do just for the sake of not getting annoyed by Nintendo as it happened to Genki.

Meanwhile, on the Genki website you can spot gadgets compatible to "Glitch" and "Glitch 2" LOL
