This is clearly optimised for Switch - probably didn't make financial sense to have a massively improved Switch 2 version / upgrade. Still trying to include Switch 1 owners with releases at this stage in fairness. I suspect they might port the later TR games to Switch 2 at a later date. I reckon it could run those very well.

A good delay is eventually game, whereas a bad forever is game rush.

For me, World is above the Wii and DS entries.

I actually missed out on Double Dash, but I know it is beloved. Looking forward to playing it on Switch 2 GC.

I decided to start a new file in Shantae Half Genie Hero and am really enjoying it again!

Also plugging away at Xenoblade Chronicles X / 3 and a bit of Hades.

I want to wait to hear if Switch 2 will be backwards compatible, but we may know that by the time the game launches. If so, Day one for sure!

@Samalik Yes, true. Still a kind of self-censorship though. Which I agree is not ideal in general, but I think it's not worth the amount of outcry in this particular case.

It's not censorship if the company / artist / developer etc makes the change of their own choosing. They were simply being judicious launching the game in certain markets. The decision wasn't imposed on them by a third party. That would be censorship. This is editing.

I agree that Link and Zelda would be better off played by unknown actors, however a famous actor for Ganondorf / other villian would work I think

Great article. Coincidentally, I hooked up my Wii U again a few weeks ago, started a new game of X and haven't been able to put it down. I've been chipping away at 3 but the last few weeks I've found myself playing X a LOT more. I love 2 and 3 but Mira is hard to beat in terms of design and aesthetics.

Was hoping for a 'Neither' option to be honest!!

@Yosher I felt exactly the same about the first game! You should definitely consider playing 2 next.

X is really great too and would highly recommend it, but these games are so long you might be waiting a while to play 3!

I think the real issue here is being ignored. When Toadette uses the crown she becomes Peachette.

TOAD-ette --> PEACH-ette

The '-ette' is derived from Toadette. There is no '-ette' in Bowser.

By this logic:

Bowser --> Peachser.

Wouldn't EA be probably more interested in the attach rate for FIFA on Switch at the moment, rather than raw sales? You can't really compare the install base of the Switch to the other current gen consoles quite yet.

Ugh... I would much rather the original soundtrack, it matches the tech/graphics of the time. CD stuff sounds really out of place.

I agree on weird treatment in Ireland, I have no idea why Nintendo UK won't ship anything to the Republic. Seems like something that shouldn't be an issue nowadays.

It was pretty rough in stores during the Wii u era, Gamestop shoved everything Nintendo into the furthest corner of the store. It has improved a bit with the Switch, but even in Dublin they still don't get a huge amount of stock in each store - I didn't trust my chances of getting a Switch day one without preordering.

The main image looks very realistic, however all the other stuff seems fake as hell. The writing is bad and seems like something a fan would write. There are typos. Well we'll know soon enough.

Have the Wii U version. It's decent. Not sure if I'd double dip though. It's not a bad brawler. A little repetitive.

How is this news to anyone? I think they've well proven by now that their Digital Event / Treehouse live stream format works just as well, if not even better, than a live press conference.

So they saw the 8 bit version that the Zelda team used while making Breath of the Wild and decided to rip it off, but make it worse.

If you're looking for exposure and support, and eventually money, try making your own game.
