Re: Video: Try Not To Go Bananas At This Unreal Engine 4 Recreation Of Donkey Kong 64's Opening Stage

I don't mean to detract from any hard work or talent on the part of whoever makes these - but whenever I see one of these videos - they never LOOK like Nintendo games, the art style, how the camera moves, the character animations/walk cycles etc etc.

Nintendo (or any other dev) has its own style and way of doing things. I feel like throwing Nintendo character models into Unreal/Unity/whatever is a bit of a futile exercise - their time and ability could probably be better spent on original creations.

Creativity/imagination and technical abilities are not the same thing.

Bah, I just bought Shin Megami Tensei IV two days ago. Still, I thought €19.99 was a good deal. It's a great game, if you think you might be interested you should definitely pick it up in the sale.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Asks for Fan Trust With Metroid Prime: Federation Force

I wouldn't say I'm a hardcore Metroid fan but I do own all three main Prime games, and to me FF - outside of the fact that you know it's not Samus behind the visor - looks exactly like you'd expect a 3DS Prime game to look. Can't a 'spin-off' be part of the main series canon? My attitude is don't look a gift horse in the mouth, there'll clearly be a main series Metroid game for either the Wii U or the NX, and when it releases people will forget about all the whinging, crying and frankly ignorant and insulting (to the devs) attitude that's prevailing at the moment.

Also, to detractors, maybe try waiting to see if you enjoy the game when it releases, rather than crapping all over the work of talented people that you haven't even played yet.

The funny thing about the Wii U for me is that despite the limited library, I have bought and own FAR more games for it that any other console I've owned (about 20-30, not including a lot of great Wii games I've picked up as well).

I've also probably had the most enjoyment and value out of the Wii U compared to any other console... despite all the bad press it gets. I played The Last of Us on the PS4 in my house and was pretty much done with it (don't get me wrong, it is a great console). There's a lot of great PS4 games in the house but I just don't have time to look at them purely because the Wii U is keeping me busy and totally entertained.

When Nintendo stop supporting the Wii U, it'll still be sitting in my room, next to the NX (whatever that may be), hooked up to the TV, with many fond memories and games that still get played.
