If you haven't heard about Bowsette by now, where have you been? The character has become a superstar on the internet over the past week when an illustrator located in Malaysia tweeted a comic featuring the Peach and Bowser mashup inspired by an item set to appear in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
Since then, fandom for the fan-made character has reached an all-time high. It's now got to the point where Nintendo has even acknowledged it in the way it knows best. When asked by J-Cast News about the creation, to the surprise of no one, a Nintendo spokesperson made the following statement:
Concerning the drawings and other things uploaded to the Internet, we have no comment.
So there you have it, in classic Nintendo fashion, it's likely going to let this current craze for the fan-made character pass by - similar to how it remained silent about the recent subjects surrounding Toad.
Can you blame Nintendo, though? The top comment underneath the recent Super Mario Odyssey costume reveal was a request for a Bowsette outfit. A prominent adult entertainment website has also released a statement about the Bowsette craze - revealing searches for the fan-made character have increased:
On Monday, September 24th searches for "Bowsette" increased by 2900 %. The curiousity for users only grew larger yesterday with an increase of 5849%.
Keeping in mind Nintendo is a family-friendly company, it seems unlikely it will ever turn this into an actual thing. Still, that won't stop the community from creating more characters. There's now even a "Boosette" trying to steal the spotlight.
What do you make of all of this? Are you a fan of Bowsette? Are you at all surprised by what Nintendo has said regarding this latest internet trend? Have you been searching for her fanart...and videos online? Tell us below.

What a shame, I was hoping Reggie could give us some insight.
Peachette was a mistake
Just in case: Bowsette is actually Bowser with the Super Crown.
You're welcome, Waifu Hunter.
No surprise here, Nintendo knows the "bomb" that exploded by this fan art / fan character and also knows the potential that it can bring to their games; but it is more than obvious that for both "safe" and legal reasons, Nintendo would prefer not to say anything or pretend that it does not know anything
Eh, Bowsette will always be real in our hearts.
Also, stop telling me what to do Nintendolife.
Yes, I have been looking at massive amounts of pornography of this fan character. You wanted my thoughts, right?
@Anti-Matter
Can we move LGBT references to lv 0, which is where I presume heterosexual references would be?
It's hard to tell the rabbid memers from the people seriously thinking Nintendo would embrace this heavily fetishized character. Can't wait until this twitter bubble bursts and my timeline isn't full of this stuff anymore. Lol
You can't stop Bowsette, just accept her into your life.
I mean, I don’t know what Nintendo expected when they designed Peachette. You opened this can of worms, now lie in it.
This anti-Bowsette movement is much, MUCH more toxic than the fandom.
Please atleast a costume in mario...
So, Bowsette mod for BotW? Anyone?
@Fandabidozi @justin233
Ow....
If LGBT references = Lv 0, so Lv 3 = Mild LGBT relationship.
Maybe... just maybe, Nintendo don't actually want to sexualise their characters designed for a game intended for the whole family to play. The game is about fighting bad guys and avoiding traps, none of these characters have much more of a backstory than that.
In a way it's not that different than the internet's need to make Sesame Street's Bert and Ernie gay. The programme is made for preschoolers. Maybe they don't need to worry about sexual politics at that age and just enjoy the funny puppets.
The excuse of "family friendly" is bs, cuz if that was the case they wouldn't have games like Saints Row, Doom, Wolfenstein and many others.
I'm pretty sure if people keep pushing hard enough for it could happen, however people has to send them pictures or not hentai.
@Fist_of_Belial
All I got to say is she's really adorable.
@Aerona It will, and don't forget Boosette! She's super cute too.
@Greator we call the anti-Bowsette movement "plebs"
@AlternateButtons Wait a second... If the excuse is that they don't want to do anything with bowsette because of the NSFW material out there... That would mean they would have to remove every character they have as well. You know, there's rule 34 of everything out there, that's the rule itself.
I really want that Samus Aran print behind you Alex!
And this is just the beginning.
There's the entirety cast of characters that are awaiting the treatment.
@ChompyMage speaking of:
@Nincompoop I don't think you get the point of Bowsette.
This is another LGBTQ thing.
Fantastic.
@aesz Probably a huge lack of interaction with actual women. Plus it's still a dude, so it's gay if a guy is into it.
Why is no one interested and making art out of peachette? I think she looks really cool!
@Nincompoop Actually the crown makes the wearer look just like peach except for a few minor differences. For example, if it worked the way you say it should with bowser, then peachette would have looked much different since toadette looks like a mushroom.
Like cats playing with a dangling piece of string.
Wabowsetteigi for Smash!
I hope this does not give Nintendo any ideas. I prefer things not to be sexualized or push some agendas.
@MonkeyKing If it means I'm gay for being into it, no regrets man. Signed and sealed. It wouldn't matter anyway, since being straight or gay is the same level of cool (aka normal).
Also, it doesn't take lack of interaction with actual women for stuff like this to appear. This is called creativity, and it has nothing to do with any outside hyperbole. Artists are a diverse breed, and they're as different as everyone else.
I guess bowsette could work if bowser kidnap peach and give her some evil drink to make her fight mario.
Erm...can we not use bloody porn sites to gauge public interest in something. It's well creepy.
geez, it is just a made-up character...get a job
@Fist_of_Belial lol, should be fixed by now.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to when this fad is over. The over-sexualized fanart is just weird to me.
@BlackenedHalo I fail to see how "get a job" has any relevance to this whatsoever? I mean, surely the majority of us are working or studying.
What incredible relevance does your comment have to this post whatsoever?
Chain Chompette is my waifu. I dont know how to post imgs here, or I would. Is it bb code?
@Blizzia people would not have been bothered by such a "thing" if they had something more important to take care of
This isn't the first genderbent Mario character the fans have made. It unfortunately won't be the last. It's just silly how they took Toadette's Peach Crown and applied it to Bowser, Boo, etc. Nothing Nintendo really has to pay attention to, outside of their usual habit of occasionally referencing memes in a cheeky manner.
Official Bowsette is super not going to happen simply because the design is actually as older than the super crown. I first saw it on the Nintendo Universe FB group months ago in some censored fanart featuring, Let's keep this clean, multiple shades of grey.
@abe_hikura Was there really? I mean, that'd certainly explain a few things...let's just say there are already some products that seem way too intricate to have been done up in the very short span of time this meme has been popular. (Plus I'm sure I saw sketches months ago)
Never thought I’d see so many boobs in a NL comment section.
@BlackenedHalo Yes, they would? Do you work 24 hours a day? No, you don't. Don't be a moron. Everybody has some level of free time, and they'd easily see this just by jumping on Twitter for 5 minutes.
@RC_Russ98 Remember when non-sexual and sexual things could co-exist without everybody flying into a keyboard warrior rage? I do.
Let fans do what they want, clearly this is something people like, otherwise it wouldn't have become as widespread as it is.
New Super Mario Bros was a mistake.
@RC_Russ98 Just get her in a non-kids game? She'd be very welcome and fit in completely in Smash for example.
dang you nintendo, she doesn't need to have huge tits and be hypersexualized in the game. just make her an echo fighter in smash for starters. this is how you please fans, with stupid memes, like fortnite did with thanking the bus driver
@RC_Russ98 i dont remember any such games
@Blizzia yes but if they had more important things to do, they would have never made a "case" like this about an unimportant character which is not even real
Stop reporting about this weirdness maybe?
@aesz
That's what I find myself wondering every day. I really need to get rid of social media and limit the websites I visit.
Bowsette fans: "Hey nintendo look we created a new character called bowsette and think the design is really good"
Nintendo: "uhmm okayy..."
I love that they have no comment. Surely they'd be saying something more a long the lines of how they love the creativity of their fans, etc, etc, but no. Just no comment. This makes me quite suspicious that something very similar might be on the horizon.
@Anti-Matter So Straight relationship is Lvl 3 too right?? Why is there any difference??
Man never thought you of all people would think this way.
@RC_Russ98 Seems the current generation don't believe in privacy lol
@Blizzia Not using gay as insult or anything, just pointing out that it being a guy is what makes it weird. Also you're using creativity extremely loosely here. Anytime there is an idea of a new female first thing that comes to an artist head is al hentai. It happened with the Ms. Chalace from Cuphead. How about some actual creativity for once, not just pure cringe.
@MonkeyKing Your interpretation of what is and isn't creativity doesn't fly with reality mate. It doesn't matter if it is hentai or not. Also, interestingly, I first started seeing hentai of it after she was boosted to "social media superstar" status. Most of the first ones were fun comics, cool illustrations and other harmless art.
It's not weird at all, doesn't matter if it is a guy or girl. That'd imply being gay is strange, which it isn't.
@Shendow I think you're conflating their job as a platform holder vs their job as a first party developer. Just because they allow M-rated games on their platform does not mean they can't keep their first party franchises family-friendly. That's an absurd argument to make.
Nobody seems to have examined the graph on the link. The latest number of searches appears to be 60. So the 5849% increase is actually not so impressive. Remember that going from 1 to 2 is a 100% increase. Lies, damn lies, and...
@Blizzia Well creativity is subjective, so techinically neither of us are right or wrong there. I'm not saying gay is strange, I mostly use that angle to get people to get defensive about the whole thing. I first saw it in like 3 comics that I didn't understand when I first saw it. Now that I understand it, I think it's just stupid. Clearly I'm not the only one who thinks that, and you aren't the only one who thinks otherwise. It's really whatever in the end because this will just end up blowing over since Nintendo doesn't even care about it, and people will move on to next waifu fad.
@MonkeyKing Well no need to abuse gay to get people defensive. That's just hostile and stupid.
It doesn't matter whether Nintendo cares about it, since it's something the fans have made. It blowing over or not depends entirely on them. Going by other "fads" throughout the times when it comes to Nintendo, chances are this one might stick like several other things.
I think it's harmless.
There's dirty stuff about absolutely everything nowadays. I haven't looked for any porn so I haven't seen any. It's really that simple. If you go looking for something on the internet, you will find it.
Also Nintendo let Birdo be transexual in Capitan Rainbow so what's the big deal guys?
Nintendo can't comment on it. There is too much smut. I teach English in Japan, there is a character in a popular English textbook Ellen Baker, some of you might have seen her online. She got super popular and a lot of smut got drawn. The artist who created her had to publicly ask people to stop doing that because the company that made the book was gonna fire him/pull his contract.
Japan might have this racist image in the west, of being a bunch of perverts who are really open with sex. But that's a load of crap. In Japan couples don't even like holding hands in public very much. A kiss is a huge deal in regular TV and even in most anime. A simple kiss. I've watched seasonal anime for almost 15 years. I can count on one hand, the number of times an anime I have seen has even implied sex happened. Sure you get the panty shots and the big boobs and the risque images, but the furthest it almost ever goes, is a kiss, usually at the end in the big climax.
Smut in Japan exists in this bubble, everyone knows it's there, but they don't talk about it outside of the bubble. Nintendo has worked hard to hold onto it's family friendly image. They can't touch Bowsette with a ten meter pole.
I think the real issue here is being ignored. When Toadette uses the crown she becomes Peachette.
TOAD-ette --> PEACH-ette
The '-ette' is derived from Toadette. There is no '-ette' in Bowser.
By this logic:
Bowser --> Peachser.
Much catchier.
The name is Peachser. Sorry!!!!!
@Heavyarms55
‘usually at the end in the big climax.’
Ooooh Matron!
@Fandabidozi I should have used different wording there... lol
Well of course it's descended into porn. I give you two words.. TIG BITTIES.
@Steel76 wow mad respect bro
@Blizzia Hey if people get offended by being called gay, that's on them, they need to lighten up, and it isn't hostile either. Some people find that funny that someone will take it so seriously from someone over the internet.
It will go through the entire cast, and hopefully we won't see it in official game. They could literally just give Peach bigger boobs since that's the main reason people even care about this.
@MonkeyKing Of course it's on them if they're offended, but there's no need to use it as an offensive tool
And it has nothing to do with the bigger boobs. The design is really nice.
@Blizzia Meh there's nothing wrong with using it that way, not like I'm saying anything bad about people who are actually gay anyway.
A shell, horns, sharper teeth, black dress, and bigger boobs. The main attraction to it is still the bigger boobs, and there's no denying that.
Bowsette can be a thing, Nintendo. Just take the design posted above, and make the bust smaller (like it should be, she is a Peach clone thing remember?) and less revealing. There you go.
@AllHailQueenBoo Thank you!
@RC_Russ98 -or you could like people on the internet draw and share whatever the heck they want and stop being a nanny.
@Shigmin
Why Peacher ?
Bowser + Peach = Beach (Spell it like female dog due to her new nasty attitudes)
@Shigmin Nope. Bowsette is catchier because it follows the naming convention of Toadette becoming Peachette.
Plus Peachser is harder to say and doesn't roll off the tongue as well.
Of course they can’t comment, this isn’t Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball.
Also, my Ignore button is getting a workout. Lots of people ‘offended’ when they could just go on with their day. I think the drawing was cool, then I moved on.
@Bunkerneath You're talking about a man who is boycotting Smash Bros Ultimate because Nintendo depicted Luigi's death in the Direct. He's ultra conservative.
@MegaVel91
@MonkeyKing I disagree on the design. It's what it becomes when combined, not its individual parts, that makes it grand.
@MegaVel91 Personally I just call her Princess Bowser, sounds better than Bowsette imo xD
@RC_Russ98 like Custer's Revenge, Beat em and Eat em for Atari? Gotcha in the Arcade from Atari? The reward for beating Metroid really fast was getting to play the game with Samus in a skin tight bikini which was a Nintendo "family friendly" game? Don't even give me "that was fine, graphics were primitive then". No, they were state of the art. Just like today with Bayonetta showing up in Nintendo's stable of characters on consoles and Smash.
Its always been in games and every media. Just whether or not people acknowledge it.
edit few more examples for you:
Birdo the transex dinosaur upon whom the player embarks on a quest in captain rainbow to prove she's a she by finding an object that vibrates in her home.
In Super Mario RPG if you check near Princess Peach's bed you find her ???, then told by a servant to put it back and forget what you've seen.
In multiple Zelda games Link is hit on by lecherous old women and has questionable relationships with several fish women and an eternally young child of the forest.
In Majora's Mask a couple of characters profess that they are lovers. They are a 12 year old boy and a 20ish year old woman.
Nintendo has definitely sexualized their own characters, even in the innocent 80's and 90's.
Also, Linkle has set a precedent of allowing genderbent characters in games due to fan demand. Don't pretend the blonde elf in green who is the destined hero of her dimension is not a feminized Link.
@Shigmin Keep in mind, -ette is also a common way to feminize names. Which is why the name Toadette exists in the first place. Not to mention, when it comes to the internet, the catcher name always wins.
Whelp, cosplay will be in full effect for this one this Halloween.
Not like I would have expected them to, but I'm enjoying all the artwork regardless.
@Anti-Matter Link crosscrossed first and I'm not talking about Breath of the Wild. In TriForce Heroes, he can wear Zelda's dress.
I don't think Nintendo can really complain seeing as they 'rewarded' players for getting 100% in Super Metroid by having Samus in her bra and panties. Not very PC by today's standards. Roll on Cosplay Bowsettes the world over next year mark my words haha!
I can think of 20 different Bowsette plotlines for a Super Mario game and guess what, all of them are Game of the Year material.
I don't get it, I'd never heard of any "Bowsette" meme until NL started spamming articles about it like it was something important in this past week because they ran out of NSO complaints
@Regpuppy
Yeah that's why they gave Mario nipples in a video game😑
They can still do it and make it family-friendly.
I hope this thing will die as fast as that violet bird.
Yeah...no, I don't see Nintendo jumping on this bandwagon any time soon.
I get different strokes different folks but this would absolutely not fit in a Mario game. Over sexualizing a very much kid friendly game would permanently tarnish what Nintendo stands for. Like school in the summer time...no class.
All it takes to be popular is to have a very small community be vocal enough with enough people in the sphere of influence to create this echo chamber. Outside of Nintendo gamers, gaming sites, cosplay & DeviantArt, I really don’t hear anyone talking about this. To say it’s popular, maybe in Japan, but how much of Japan could really be a very small percentage in the echo chamber.
This will come and pass, like most fan made things, because the illustrations are over-sexualized along with the echo chamber fighting over it being necessary/unecessary. It’s a controversial topic whether admitted or not, and that’s enough for Nintendo to not even touch it with a 10 foot pole.
Remember how Female Link (Linkle?) was a thing for a while. Give it a few weeks and Bowsette will go the same way. And Linkle was approved by Nintendo!
Some amazing artists out there though so keep up the good work until then.
"Can you blame Nintendo, though?"
Yes, since they are the cause behind this and honestly, Bowsette (or better yet, that crown) is the best thing to come from that dookie game (Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe).
"Keeping in mind Nintendo is a family-friendly company, it seems unlikely it will ever turn this into an actual thing."
Huuuuuuh, when was Bowsette not family friendly? It's Bowser turning into Peach, right? So it's like saying Peach and or Bowser is not family friendly.
Not to mention everything Nintendo related has already been made lewd. I'd just embrace it, I mean, look at all the traffic going to that certain site mentioned in the article. That could be going towards Nintendo.
@Yorumi
I was also going to mention that, but couldn't think of enough examples to bring it up, outside of a few Pokemon, Tiny Kong and Kalypso. Good to know there's more!
@Yorumi yeah, but what you're missing there is the core audiences for those games. Starfox was already relatively niche, Metroid's audience has always skewed older, as has LoZ's. The camera feature in Smash Melee was something you had to go looking for to do that, not an intentionally included feature necessarily.
Point is, this is Nintendo's core franchise, the most family-friendly of the bunch. Even more so than Kirby, because while Kirby typically appeals to younger kids, that's not what family-friendly means. Family-friendly means it appeals to everyone in the family, which is Mario and the gang's bread and butter. There's something for everyone, and nothing objectionable to almost anyone in terms of the main cast of characters.
I'm pretty laissez-faire about this stuff usually, but it makes total sense that this is a big nope for Nintendo. While there's rule 34 stuff out there for every character under the sun, those characters didn't start out that way. On the contrary, the narrative around these fan-characters is enmeshed with the risque stuff drawn of them from the very beginning, there's no "they didn't start out that way" excuse to be had here. So, right or wrong (and, I think, in this case right), @Heavyarms55 is right – they can't touch these characters. Not right now, anyway.
As someone who plays games with their kids, I'm kind of glad. It's kind of rare these days to have an entire series of games that I know will be cool to play with my kids, ones that I don't have to play only after they're in bed or "when they're old enough," or even check out extensively before letting them play like I do with most games. That's a thing of value to me. So, to all of you saying "they should just let the fans have what they want," well...I think that's exactly what Nintendo is doing here, even if the majority of fans aren't being vocal about what they want in this particular case because it has nothing to do with Bowsette. Most would probably say "whosette?" or nothing at all.
In any case, I do think the crown is a funny gag, and chain-chompette is my favorite. You've all forsaken Bombette, though, and it's cruel.
Anyway, can we all just get back to complaining about not having SNES games included with our online subscriptions soon?
I'm dead inside. I just wake up each day for new memes like this, I ask for nothing.
@Yorumi
Haven't payed that RPG, but you said it was made by Square, even if Nintendo approved, if there were to be a backlash, it wouldn't fall hard on Nintendo.
Bikini's ain't lewd, IMO.
Bayonetta was made before being signed onto Nintendo.
True...even though it was only used for Peach (from what I remember), who wore like granny undergarments.
Ruto was lewd? Haven't played OOT so idk much about that game.
Got a point with Cia, even if not directly Nintendo.
I dunno about Krystal, the fans most definitely made her lewd, but idk if she was originally. Again, I don't personally count bikini's as lewd, otherwise I would believe swimming trunks for guys as lewd, which I don't.
Good show. That should more or less justify Bowsette being a cannon and or Nintendo not shunning characters or concepts like her. After all, lewd sells~
@yorumi Didn't say Zelda wasn't a big franchise, and I didn't even bring up Pokemon so I'm not sure what you're referencing there. I said Zelda's audience skews older. But also, I'm not sure how Princess Ruto is at all risque – if anything, I would have referenced the Great Faries throughout the history of those games if I was trying to make the argument you're trying to make. And why not bring up some of the characters and mechanics in the Fire Emblem series, for that matter? Nintendo certainly isn't a stranger to fan-service, but it's just not smart for this particular franchise.
The point I'm making is that the Mario series, whether or not you want to admit it, is their most popular series – specifically for people who don't play a lot of games. An average person on the street may not know who Samus, Starfox, or even Zelda is, but they know Mario. At this point in the news cycle, particularly for those people who know Mario as the brand but don't play all the games or know all the characters this would be the equivalent of allowing for a news story to trend on social media where fans created a lewd version of Mickey or Minnie Mouse and then Disney went "Ok, yeah, we'll make it canon." I can see the headlines and social-media posts now: "Fans create p0rn character in the Disney universe and Disney give it the 'OK'". That's what they're sidestepping here.
It's not a side-reference or a minor character in a non-core-series game, it's an adult-theme-heavy major character (two of them, sort of) directly related to Nintendo's main mascot who has new games coming out, appears in all of their marketing, and let's not forget has a movie for kids in the works that they need non-gamer people to bring their kids to, full of good-will for a company and franchise that has a kid-friendly image. Thirst has probably ruined the potential for this character to be recognized by Nintendo anytime soon.
While I agree with you that the folks at Nintendo aren't usually total prudes (which this move doesn't make them, IMO, but I digress), it's smarter for the brand right now to let this die down on its own and make a small nod to or put their own spin on a while after it's not center-stage on gaming Twitter.
I mean Sakurai needs more vilains for Smash... right?
@Yorumi
Hmm...maybe I have incredible "tolerance" or something to lewd stuff, but that doesn't look it to me =/
I suppose, again, no knowledge of that game, I only played X and apparently that one was censored.
Right? Krystal alone is like one of the top 5 most drawn characters for that. Though I still don't fully follow what you meant by "can't have it both ways" >.>...
I think that episode is banned in the West, but I do know of that episode, he looked pretty good. To bad that was the only time Pokemon did something like that, maybe there's a connection here as to why Nintendo has been shafting Birdo...
@Yorumi first off, I said “Nintendo gamers”. So outside of that, you have the rest of the gaming community, some of whom May have heard/seen it. I’ve talked to several people & friends who haven’t heard nor seen this. Also not talking about video games in general, we’re on the subject of a specific user-created character, there are plenty of non-gaming sites that post about video games.
Actually, Bowsette doesn't seem much crazier than what's already in Nintendo games. But if Nintendo starts basing their games on memes, it's all over. Any times I see memes showing what the fans want, I just think, "Please Nintendo, for the love of all things good and holy, don't give the fans what they want!"
Gosh, these people need girlfriends..........
@Yorumi
And I agree with that.
Memes now originating/proliferating on Twitter and other social media rather than just 4chan makes the internet a weirder place than before. They blow up much faster now.
Wait a minute...Nintendo's NOT going to make a Mario related teenager borderline Hentai erotica, S&M like character that's nothing but an exaggerated T & A Dominatrix ???
That, That, That's just...completely unexpected, what could Nintendo be thinking ESPECIALLY in these days ?!?!
they may allow other companies like Monolith Soft (Xenoblade series) & Rockstar (GTA series), but characters NINTENDO directly designs ??? not a chance !!!
Had never even heard of this character until now. Just looks like another fetish-fueled deviantart character to me, don't really see the big deal. It's not even really a creative design as all they really did was put horns on Peach and change her outfit. As someone who isn't a total prude, I hate to be the bearer of bad-news but.... this character design has quite literally existed for YEARS in fetish art, hentai, etc.. It's only recently that I've ever seen a name for it. The concept of making Peach look like Bowser is definitely not new.
Obviously Nintendo isn't going anywhere near it, anyone who actually thought otherwise is kidding themselves. While Nintendo is no stranger to sexual character designs, big breasts, etc, they usually treat any kind of fan-character like this with the same wooden responses. I can only imagine how much Birdo art they get bombarded with....

@Onion look at the fan art on this page...
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/09/gallery_bowsette_is_now_a_thing_thanks_to_a_near-endless_supply_of_nintendo_fan_art#comment4704795
you will see why Nintendo is not going to make it happen, she would have to be dumbed down so much, she would end up looking like an S&M evil Princess Zelda (she does look more like Zelda than Peach, and those big elf-ears don't help that)
I don't understand why people can illustrate or pitch ideas for a family friendly Bowsette. Drop the skanky outfit, drop the huge knockers, and come up with a logical concept
At least Eggette is more dignified, and an accident.
I think shes' ok, it was a nice idea from the fans. It would be cool if she and even Boosette became a real thing in Mario games.
Alas, that's not gonna happen and we all know it.
@Borshi
Bowsette & Booette or Boosette could only exist in a game where the protagonists are female, because human MALE characters like Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi beating down and/or killing a female human character (especially in this "Me Too Movement days") would look REALLY bad !!! besides, in over 35 years of saving the various women and kingdoms, what's the ONLY reward he's ever gotten ??? a kiss on the cheek, I mean seriously, if he saw saw Bowsette or Boosette, he'd try and get WITH them rather than beat them up !!! LOL
@jhewitt3476
"Mario Bros. Heroines: Super Crown Frenzy" lol
At the end of Odyssey it seemed Mario was about to get a little something more, but Bowser ruined the moment.
@Deku-Scrub
(Direct Starts)
REGGIE: BOWSETTE. IS. NOT. GOD. DAMN. CANON!
(Direct Ends)
@AllHailQueenBoo Queen Boo is nice but Queen Bowsette is mightier XD
@MarioFan02 Chill Out dude...
in a way, neither is the "Super Mario" series either, remember, "Jump Man", later renamed Mario, was a Donkey Kong character, and nowhere near the Mushroom kingdom, at some point, all characters created start out as non-cannon, they eventually become "cannon" when they are accepted as such, so she could be no less cannon than Yoshi, Bowser Jr., Wario, ect.
@Borshi Yah, "Missed It By THAT Much !!!" is how it always ends up with poor Mario.
Link is even WORSE, poor kid, I don't even think he has even gotten so much as a kiss on the cheek, in fact, they take all his belongings away and expects him to gather all that shnizzit over and over again every time, how dumb is that ???
(yes, I know every LoZ game is a different time in the world of Hyrule, but that is NOT the point)
@jhewitt3476 It was a joke.
Good gosh, these people... At least my absence of life to meandering through the shallow universe of escapism through video games is slightly less significant than then the people who advocate for this malarkey...
@Illusion linked is not a feminized link, she's her own character. We have proof of this in the game. She doesn't bear the triforce of courage, why? Because only link's soul ever could. Remember lore wise link, and Zelda are constantly reborn with a new form of demise. There can never be a female link because of this. But thTs not a bad thing, Zelda isn't just a dainty damsel, look at her shiek disguise, or BoW Zelda.
