Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 9th)

Rykdrew

On Switch:

  • Mario Strikers: Battle League - Online matches (trainning for the new season championship clubs vs clubs online)
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Balloon Battle Mode - me and my wife play it almost everyday. Last night we did a 16 rounds championship. She won: 135 points. I was second: 109 points. The best CPU was 39. Playing normal difficulty. Tonight will be my revenge!
  • Advance Wars 1 + 2 - playing slowly..I´m on Mission 5 (first game)
  • Metroid Fusion (NSO - GBA) - Its almost finished. I´m playing it before starting Metroid Dread.

Re: Talking Point: What Are The Worst Parts Of Your Favourite Games?

Rykdrew

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Every corner is too easy to do....the driving experience is too poor. Crash Team Racing is so much better and more complex to master the driving experience.

Unfortunatly, Mario Kart is the best multiplayer experience (battle mode, not racing)....I would like the driving gameplay was more like Crash Team Racing.

I´d like the racing experience was better like Crash Team Racing.

Today, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Battle Mode is the best piece of game here.

Re: Video: Where Does Mario Kart Go From Here?

Rykdrew

Everyone who plays Mario Kart 8…play it very well today. So…Nintendo needs to make next Mario Kart harder to drive. We need more challenge driving the cars. Put a harder driving mode.

And…much more battle courses. battle is better than the kart racing……mario kart racing is too easy and boring.

If Nintendo games, including Mario Kart…go easier..and easier…i’m out.

  • Metroid Dread ($30) - love 2d Metroid. i feel its a $30, not $60, game.

Re: Super Mario RPG Switch Leaked Online Ahead Of Next Week's Release

Rykdrew

@K31 it is never meant to be hard is a terrible choice by Nitnendo. Put new challenge setting. Not Dark Souls level, normal-people level is just great. But the game has only child-level challenge. Its terrible for people don´t like to play a game only to see graphic animation and design. I don´t care about it.

I care about a challenge that motivates me to play, that makes sense for me to use my time to have fun facing some adversity. Playing a super easy game, already knowing, with 100% certainty, that I will win without any minimal effort, makes me not want to turn on the video game. Then I prefer to do something other than play.

I am in other city this weekend. Only switch:

  • World of Solitaire: fantastic solitaire game. So much added value, game modes, achievements, you can unblock musics and card stamps (using an evolution system). Touchscreen. Love this game. I have 25 hours in and 52%.
  • Windjammers 2: perfect game, single or multi.
  • Super Mario Strikers: Battle League (demo). I bought the game but still not arrived (i paid $15 new)

Re: Review: Star Ocean: The Second Story R - One Of The Very Best RPGs Of The Year

Rykdrew

CONS: "Default difficulty is too easy"

But this Star Ocean "too easy" is HARDER than 100% Super Mario Wonder.

Why isn't this same attribute a CON for Super Mario Wonder?

And..C´mon, you can choose harder difficulties in Star Ocean. Not in Super Mario Wonder.

Star Ocean 2 is the only jRPG what I liked to date. I don´t like this kind of game...but Star Ocean 2 is GREAT.

Re: Review: WarioWare: Move It! - A Fine Return For Wario's Wii-Era, Motion-Based Mayhem

Rykdrew

My favorite Nintendo Franchise.

One of the only games made by Nintendo that actually brings me genuine fun and I don't have to work hard to have fun.

I hope, from the bottom of my heart, that Nintendo translates this game into more languages, because children in my country don't know how to read English or Japanese. And I like to let them play alone in my gamer room to free up the adults for hotter, adults-only parties.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 28th)

Rykdrew

@TotalHenshin "People matter more than console loyalties."

This sentence is perfect. And I say more: this so-called “loyalty” limits every human being, whatever the topic of interest. I prefer not to be loyal to any brand, because it doesn't make sense for me to be loyal to a brand. What I'm loyal to is my fun, wherever it may be.

A writer is not good or bad, better or worse, if he only plays Nintendo branded games or plays a little bit of everything. I trust more the one who plays everything, on all consoles, because that way he has something to compare with. I prefer this writer profile to one who lives in a bubble of idolatry.

Re: Review: Gato Roboto - A Charming Metroidvania Which We Wish Hung Around Longer

Rykdrew

Nintendo Life Review:

"Our only real gripe with Gato Roboto is its overall difficulty. Most players will fly through the game in just a few short hours with ease. The only grief you’ll likely face is from the boss battles which, although punishing at times, are nevertheless thrilling and amusing in equal measure. Still, at such a reasonable price, it still feels like a no-brainer. "

"Only its difficulty leaves a bit to be desired at times - anybody with a lick of experience will likely breeze through it in no time, and we wish it lasted a little longer."

This phrase fits perfectly in $60 Super Mario Wonder.

Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Is The Fastest-Selling Mario Game Ever In Europe

Rykdrew

@Jhena This is why I find Super Mario Wonder so boring. I have no fun, because you can just close your eyes, press the D-pad forward, and hit the jump button randomly. And in 30 seconds you passed the level. Serious. Test this, close your eyes, press forward and press the jump button. You will beat many levels without making any effort.

The game is based on showing the player cute animations, and it really is all very cute, but as a game, with substance, a basic level of challenge to bring some fun, I didn't find this. I thought it was a beautiful game graphically, but completely without substance to make it 100%. Very easy indeed. It's Kirby Star Allies from the Mario franchise.

Many people are happy because they took their 6 hours to do 100%. And the game brought that satisfaction of being able to do 100%. Something that few people can do in Ori, Rayman Legends and Crash Bandicoot. So it gives you that false sense of achievement. But, for those who have a little experience with games, it seems like a waste of time. Because it doesn't give any satisfaction, because it's too easy.

Re: Talking Point: Along With Joy-Con Drift, What Does Nintendo Have To 'Fix' With 'Switch 2'?

Rykdrew

1. URGENT: being able to observe friends who ARE ONLINE, but NOT PLAYING, that is, who are idle, and be able to INVITE them to play. You need to have more ways of communicating with your friends to arrange a game.

There might be an online panel where you put your intention, like "I want to play Smash Bros online". Then any friends who want can click on this message and immediately join my game.

2. Online lag-free.

Steam online is so much better than Switch online (any game, any time)

Re: The King Of Fighters XIII Global Match Gets A New Trailer Ahead Of Launch

Rykdrew

This game is so advanced. I play on Steam. Its one of the best King of Fighters ever. I think only 2002 Unlimited - steam version and 98 Final Edition - Steam version, are better than XIII.

But playing it on Switch controller must be so difficult. The level of precision in commands here is relentless.

I have a joycom with dpad from Hori that works very well in games like persona 4 Ultimax, Chaos Code, Dragonball FighterZ, and others...so...it's possible that I buy this game for Switch too. For Steam I just have KOF XIII (one of the most difficult games to get 100% of achievements)
