Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 9th)

Rykdrew

Nintendo Switch

  • Vampire Survivors : a lot of runs!
  • Chaos Code : trying to complete all missions

Steam

  • F1 2023 : I´m having a blast. The "Breaking Point - Part 2" story is just PERFECT.
  • Guilty Gear Strive : more ranked matches and trying to beat de Last Boss - Stage 9 (secret boss). It´s near impossible...oh God...the most difficult boss in a fighting game i´ve ever seen...It feels like I'm facing Psycho Mantis, Metal Gear Solid, in a fighting game. He knows everything I'm going to do. EVER.

It's harder than the last boss in the classic Eternal Champions 2 Challenge from the Dark Side (Sega CD), on hard mode. And look, the last boss of Eternal Champions 2 needs to be defeated 9 (nine!!) times in a row, in completely different versions, with a single energy bar (and each transformation has a move that kills you in 1 hit)

Switch

Vampire Survivors I have 190/190 achievements on Steam. On Switch it´s only 137 achievements i see...but i´ll make them all.

Steam

Slay the Spire trying to make ascencion 18-19-20 (ironclaw). I have the other characters ascencion 20...and this game deserve 100%.

Guilty Gear Strive fighting ranked in top level.

Forza Horizon 4 This game is just perfect. Its on my TOP-3 all time. And i play games since 1981.

My sister came here from the USA. Will be here for 2 weeks. So we'll play her favorites.... there's going to be a lot of people around this weekend, so it's just going to be multiplayer games like:

  • Nintendo Switch Sports
  • Taiko no Tatsujin (with 2 drums)
  • Mario Party Superstars
  • Just Dance
  • Warioware Get it Together

Re: NASCAR Arcade Rush Is Starting Its Engine On Switch Next Month

Rykdrew

@GrailUK No, please, Cruis'n Blast is one of the worst racing games in history.

Repeated tracks (with different skins), few tracks, no progression, no artificial intelligence, with random aspects, horrible graphics. It's a game that loses in content and quality to indie racing games that cost $5.

Re: Review: Red Dead Redemption - A Fine But No-Frills Switch Port, For A Fistful Of Dollars

Rykdrew

$60 NINTENDO PORTS:

  • Pikmin 3 (10 - 20 hours content)
  • New Mario Bros U (5 - 15 hours content)
  • Donkey Kong Tropical Breeze (10 - 25 hours content)
  • Pokken Tournament (10 - 30 hours content)
  • Super Mario 3d World (10 - 20 hours content)

and...NOW....

Red Dead Redemption (+DLC) port (100 - 150 hours content) for $50

I don't remember anyone (besides myself) criticizing the price of these Nintendo games. Does Nintendo have "poetic freedom" in this matter? I think it's hypocritical.

I think no port deserve $50 - $60 price tag, whether from Nintendo or any other company, the same.

Re: Video: The N64 Kart Racer That Deserves To Be On Switch

Rykdrew

Diddy Kong Racing (1997)...I´ve never liked this game...

On N64 era...this game was in "slow motion" for me....not fast enough, so much boring game..like 99% of the N64 racing games, including Mario Kart 64.

I really did not like racing games on N64 (except for Xtreme G 1 and F-zero X)...because the speed sensation...low frame rate....and graphic style. N64 was poor.

I played for 10 hours and never played this game again. It's on my list of abandoned games that I didn't enjoy.

In 1999, 2 years after Diddy Kong Racing, I was playing Test Drive Le Mans, Ferrari F355 Challenge, Sega Rally (1998), on Dreamcast. You can't even compare the monstrous difference in quality.

In 1997, I'd rather keep playing Super Mario Kart and Top Gear on the SNES than racing games on the N64.
I also preferred playing on Sega Saturn, Sega Rally 1, Need for Speed, Andretii Racing, Daytona, Tokyo highway battle, so much better quality and fun.

Switch:

  • Binding of Isaac Rebirth (coop with my Wife. She has 310 hours in this game in her switch profile, and 700+ hours in her steam profile, and play better than me)

Game Pass Ultimate:

  • Dirt 5 (I´m in love with this game)

Steam:

  • Street Fighter 6 (Best Street Fighter game ever and my game of the year by far)

Re: Nintendo Has Released A Day-One Update For Everybody 1-2-Switch!

Rykdrew

I just watched a video with all minigames.

Unfortunatly....BORING!

Only 17.....about 20 seconds mini games.

The original 1 + 2 switch had 28 mini games and it was not enough.

The new one is only 17 mini-games? 2 of them are quiz....and only 6 or 7 languages. My friends won´t understand because my language is not included. Any little party game on Steam has 15 ...20 language translation. But Nintendo must be a small company...

I cannot see my friends playing this game. They will continue to play Just Dance and Nintendo Switch Sports...in parties.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

Rykdrew

@Vyacheslav333

@Vyacheslav333 I play games since 1981 and Fighting games since 90´s.

I played international Street Fighter championships, since World Cyber Gaming (1996), where I was sponsored by Samsung.

I also participated in SALEX, in South America, where I was runner-up in Street Fighter and competed in a final at the Monza Circuit (Formula 1), at a Capcom Club event (I was sponsored by Walmart).

This is all very old, before EVO existed!

I have a lot of fighting games.

On steam I have absolutely ALL fighting games ever created.

I have over 3000 hours on Tekken 7 to get an idea.

But like you, I don't have time to play unfortunately.

I didn't know that Chaos Code will have a sequel! I will look forward to this! Thanks for the info!

90% of my time playing games is playing fighting games. The other styles of games don't amuse me that much.

But, I promise to take it easy on you if we play online

I'm old but I still know how to play LOL

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

Rykdrew

@Vyacheslav333 On Nintendo Switch I can recommend a great fighting game from Aksys!

Chaos Code!

Its cheap and its a GREAT game!

On Switch I play:

  • Persona 4 Arena Ultimxa
  • Dragonball Fighter Z
  • Chaos Code
  • Street Fighter 30th collection
  • Smash Bros Ultimate

If you wanna play some day!

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

Rykdrew

@Vyacheslav333 I´m a fighting gamer too. But Nintendo Switch is not the best option to play fighting games. I recommend you play them on Steam. Online is free and there are A LOT OF PEOPLE playing ALL fighting games! Much more options than any console!

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

Rykdrew

Amazing Direct.

My games here:

  • Vampire Survivors
  • Mario Kart 8 Booster Pack 5
  • Warioware: Move it

Mario RPG and new Mario 2d seems good. But i won´t pay $60 for them. I only would buy it for ~ $29...i don´t think these games are worth that much. I'm not willing to pay more than that for them. Many of these Nintendo adventure games last a few hours for me. I prefer pay for Dead Cells, Rogue Legacy 2...

I´ll buy:

  • Warioware: Move it (Switch)
  • Persona 5 Tactica (Steam / Steam Deck)
  • New Sonic (Steam / Stem Deck)
  • Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 (Steam / Steam Deck)
