Re: Nintendo Removes Variable Refresh Rate TV Mention On Switch 2 Websites

Rykdrew

@Jester676 My compare is: Steam Deck Oled 512GB (better screen than Switch Oled) versus Rog Ally X (the exactly same Switch 2 screen).

Obs: Steam Deck Oled 512gb version has better Oled Screen quality than Steam Deck Oled 1TB model. I know..it has non sense, but Steam Deck Oled 512gb is a truly special product.

I can see the comparison between Switch Oled, Steam Deck Oled 512gb and Rog Ally X everyday here at home.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (26th April)

Rykdrew

On Steam:

  • The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion - i paid $40 - equivalent on Steam, Day-1). Best. Game. Ever in my 4000+ games collection.
  • Persona 3 Reload - I paid yesterday for $34 - equivalent, on Steam) - Absolute incredible massive game. AAA

On Switch:

  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - i am not interested in buying Switch 2 and Mario Kart World. For now, i prefer the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe battle mode with my wife. If the Switch 2 Mario Kart does not captivate me, i won' t buy Switch 2. This is the only strong Nintendo game for me, today.

Probably I'm buying Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on Steam for $30 - equivalent, day-2. What masterpiece of a game....thanks for this massive AAA launch game is not a $80 Nintendo game (i would never pay this value for any game).

Re: Opinion: Steam Deck Fans Are Seriously Underestimating The Switch 2

Rykdrew

@KayFiOS steam deck oled has better screen than Rog Ally x (the exactly same Switch 2 screen, 120hz vrr mini led 1080p). Steam deck oled 512gb has the best handheld screen ever. Better than the Steam Deck 1tb Mate Oled screen.

When i put the Steam Deck Oled on my Oled TV, i put Steam Deck on a Dock with eGPU. So i plug my RTX 4090 and play the games better than PS5 by far.

In 2026..i can sell the 4090 and buy 5090.
In 2027 i can sell 5090 and buy the future 6090..

steam Deck Oled in dock mode can be as powerful as you want if you just have powerful GPUs in your home, like me.

But..Rog Ally x > Steam Deck Oled.

Steam Deck 2 = 2026
Rog Ally 2 = Fall 2025

Re: Opinion: Steam Deck Fans Are Seriously Underestimating The Switch 2

Rykdrew

You dont need to buy a dock to play Steam Deck on TV.

Probably we will have Steam Deck 2 in 2026.

We'll have a new Rog Ally fall this year.

Rog Ally x > Steam Deck Oled

But Steam Deck Oled has the best screen image. Better than 120hz vrr mini led 1080p Rog Ally x.

Steam is other thing. A think Steam > all videogames. Steam is for gamers that want the highest quality possible, paying the cheaper prices on games, and paying nothing to play the best online quality ever.

Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Is Out Now, But Switch 2 Is Unconfirmed

Rykdrew

@Varkster 3. "Oblivion (remastered) is not going to include all DLC, in fact DLC packs are being released alongside it in a deluxe edition which costs above the base price."

I paid $40 - equivalent (in my country) for Deluxe version (all DLC, artbook & new exclusive content) on Steam, today ( Day 1 ). I would never pay $60 - $80 for it or any other game.

And i played 1000+ hours on Skyrim. So Oblivion will be 1000+ hours. Thanks that Oblivion is not a Nintendo game, otherwise the price would be $100 LOL (and i would never buy it, no matter what).

Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Is Out Now, But Switch 2 Is Unconfirmed

Rykdrew

I'm playing on my Rog Ally x. Oh my **** god. Best. Game. Ever.

Delicious to play. Another 1000 hours +, playing another Elder Scrolls the right way: on PC/Steam Deck/ Rog Ally, with a lot of future wonderful mods.

No videogame can beat it. skyrim with mods on PC is another level. Another game. I was playing Skyrim with Elden Ring gameplay, for example, and another level graphics. Fantastic!

Re: Mario Kart World Brings Back Another Fan-Favourite Mode

Rykdrew

@Chron but on teaser, this mode looks empty...without walls..only open world. Its terrible. The walls are necessary for more strategy with items (when itens hit the walls and come back). And much more intense than open worlds.

I need to see more. Today, i did not like it.

The best way to do it is creating bigger but closed arenas.

Re: "Stay Tuned" For Next Mainline Mario, Says Nintendo's Bowser

Rykdrew

@Willo567 i buy sony games on Steam. So much cheaper. Astrobot will go to PC, we can bet.

For me Steam > any videogame.

I play steam on tv, home cinema, pc, ipad pro, steam deck oled and rog ally x.

Steam is the way to go.

Steam + Nintendo is great for me.

But, today you can buy the PS5 Astrobot for 47,00...not Nintendo' s new forever $80.

Re: Nintendo Direct: Mario Kart World: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?

Rykdrew

4 - poor

  • only 28 courses? (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was 48 courses - day one, for $60)
  • i dont like free roam
  • i did not like Balloon Battle mode with too huge open worlds. I prefer confined arenas, with more chaos and fast strategy and fast thinking, more intense battles. This mode is the most important for me, because i play it 95% of my Mario Kart - Time. My wife also did not like it, and i always play with her. So....
  • Teaser showed 4 player split screen in 30fps only. Terrible.
  • Old courses, between these only 28 courses? Really? It must be all 28 new courses, for $80.

The nice:

  • camera during 4 players split screen.
  • new gimmicks

Forza Horizon has a lot of more content for...hmmm...i paid $17 equivalent, on steam

Mario Kart is the only game i am interested in Switch 2. So...i can buy the deluxe version on Switch 3 and continue playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch 1, the only Nintendo IP i still play...

Re: Mario Kart World Brings Back Another Fan-Favourite Mode

Rykdrew

95% of my Mario Kart 8 playtime is Balloon Battle mode.

Unfortunatly i did not like this Mario Kart World balloon battle teaser.

The arenas are huge. The arenas need to be smaller because the strategy through the chaos. Giant arenas, like Crash Team Racing and this Mario Kart World teaser, are boring.

I need to see more about this mode.

Its the "X" if i will buy Switch 2 or keep playing switch 1 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

If i dont like Mario Kart World, i wont buy Switch 2. Thats the only Nintendo game i really like.

I need to have fun. No matter if the game is new or old. I play 1999 Unreal Tournament and i have more fun than any FPS modern games. So, i dont buy modern FPS games.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (12th April)

Rykdrew

On Switch:

  • Rogue Legacy 2: going to 4th boss. I need to kill 2 more mini bosses to fight this Boss. Great game. Insane replayability for $14, Baby. So much fun. Its better than my $60 Metroid Dread (poor game in content).

On Steam:

  • Dead or Alive 6: i have 100% achievements in this one. But its so much fun. I need to finish all Nico' s Challenge. And now i have the kast 4 characters (DLC), $0,80-equivalent each one on this Steam Sale.

Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Donkey Kong Bananza Are In

Rykdrew

For a $70 game, everything will depend on the number of hours of gameplay, the replayability.

No matter how much it "entertains", there are many games that are entertaining and cost less.

So, FOR ME, the watchword now is replayability.

For $70, I need to play this game for at least 50 hours.

For comparison:

  • I played Mario Odyssey for 15 hours. Because after that, it stopped entertaining me. I got Mario Odyssey for free (it was a gift).
  • I played Crash Bandicoot 4: It´s about Time for 50 hours on Steam. I paid $13 equivalent in this game.

Re: Ex-PlayStation Boss Comments On Switch 2's "Hefty" Price Hikes

Rykdrew

I have a 2 years old daughter, and a 1 month little boy.

I won´t never show Nintendo to them. I don´t want they spend $80+ with games on future. (i know, future inflation, etc...but i talk about value equivalence).

I will teach financial math to them early. And no matter if you have a fat wallet, you need to respect the money.

I respect my wallet.

I won´t never pay $80 for a game. I´ve never did it. I won´t never do it.

My 12 years old daughter´s most played game is Viva Pinata (xbox)

I hope it wll be the same with the little sis and little bro. GREAT cheap games.

$19 Big Little Planet on Steam - kind of game.

It doesn't have to be Nintendo games. It doesn't have to be games on launch.

There are many wonderful games for kids on Steam.

I don't want my children to be loyal to any brand of any product. I will teach them from an early age that when you are loyal to a brand, you lose bargaining power. I want them to never have a flag, and to be able to experience a little bit of everything, without being loyal to anything, except their family and wallet.

Re: Is The Switch 2 A Steam Deck Killer? Digital Foundry Dives Deep

Rykdrew

@Jester676 Why do sales matter when playing a game? For me, sales are not an order of magnitude to determine quality.

There are fewer Rolls-Royces on the streets, but they are better than a Fiat. There are more Fiats on the streets, however.

GTA V sold 210 million copies, but I think Zelda is a game with higher quality.

Just like the Rog Ally x and steam Decks sold less than the Switch 1, but they are much better.

Re: Is The Switch 2 A Steam Deck Killer? Digital Foundry Dives Deep

Rykdrew

Rog Ally x > Switch 2 > Steam Deck Oled.

I have Steam Deck Oled and Rog Ally x.

I have a dock with eGPU and i put my 5080 gpu and play on TV 4k in absolutely monster settings, both, Steam Deck Oled and Rog Ally x.

But...

NEW Rog Ally in 2025.
NEW Steam Deck 2026.

Let's see how long the Switch 2 can compete in the next 8 years.

The Switch 2 difference = Nintendo Games, as usual.

But the price of the games.....no comparison.

I paid $14 in Cyberpunk, not $70 - $80.
I paid $19 in Elden Ring, not $70 - $80.
I paid $14 in Street Fighter 6, not $70 - $80.

The Steam Store is the best thing that ever happened to this world.

And...

Multiplayer Online FOR FREE.
Cloud Saves FOR FREE.
and BIGGER Community to play against.

Easy Chat, easy way to share your games with non gaming-PC gamers.

I send a link to my sister. She does not have a good PC, but she has a xbox controller. She click on my link and play Soul Calubur VI with me. She does not need to install the game, have the game. Nothing. its FOR FREE.

And you can easily invite friends to play, create groups. Its just perfect. Steam is perfect.

Re: ICYMI: Mario Kart's Iconic Track Looks Set For A Return In World

Rykdrew

@Sonicka Yes, I need the Battle Modes. Me and my wife play everyday mario kart 8 Deluxe battle mode and its so much fun.

If Mario Kart World has a fun split screen battle mode, so yes..i could buy switch 2 on future...

its the only Nitnendo game i really like today. I have a lot of nintendo games on Switch 1, but i play them very little.

I have 1600 hours on Binding of Isaac and 2 hours on Metroid Prime Remastered.

120 hours on Rogue Legacy 2, and only 15 hours on Mario 3d World Bowser´s Fury.

90 hours on Easy Come Easy Golf, and only 10 hours on Mario Golf...

345 hours on Undernight in-Birth Sys: Celes and only 55 hours on Smash bros...

and so on...

Switch 2 could means "Mario Kart only" for me. But i need the split screen battle modes.

Now i have Rog Ally X and the games i like are there (and cheaper / better quality / hybrid TV - Handheld /online for free / cloud save for free).

Re: ICYMI: Mario Kart's Iconic Track Looks Set For A Return In World

Rykdrew

@Sonicka I respect your opinion. I have a different opinion. Mario Kart 8 has Mirror mode (which I've never played, because I don't care about reverse or mirror tracks in any racing game). Mario Kart 8 Deluxe came with 48 tracks. Many of them have different routes, but I don't consider new routes to be new tracks).

Crash Nitro Kart has 100+ characters, 30+ tracks, a lot of routes, 12 racing modes and Battle modes, a lot of more content, adventure mode, and i paid $19 for it.

Forza Horizon has so many more tracks routes, cars, game modes, and i paid $15 on sale, on Steam. (Playing on my Rog Ally X, TV and PC, multiplayer online for free, cloud save for free).

But none of this matters, because in Mario Kart I only have fun with the battle mode, which Mario Kart World hasn't shown to have yet.

I have 315 hours in Mario Kart 8 deluxe. 305 hours on Balloon Battle Mode.

Re: Community: Which Switch 2 Games Are You Wishlisting?

Rykdrew

@Chlocean Really???? I am praying for that! Really. That´s the point if i buy or don´t buy Switch 2 (future).

I wanna buy the new Rog Ally before Switch 2. But if Mario Kart has battle modes, i´ll buy Switch 2..maybe 2027...2028...(not for these prices...i can live without Switch 2)

Re: Elden Ring's Switch 2 Physical Version Seemingly Tarnished By 'Game-Key Card' Release

Rykdrew

@Skunkfish i dont like cartridges. A dont care about the Rog Ally x price, because the games are cheap.

I also have Stem Deck Oled.

My Switch Oled + 30 games is more expensive than my Steam Deck and 80 games.

Now i have 432 or 433 games on Steam.

Rog Ally, long term, is cheaper than Switch 2, because the game prices.

I have Elden Ring for $19, not $80
I have Cyberpunk for $14, not $80.

Switch 2 is cheaper than Rog Ally X = illusion.

Re: Community: Which Switch 2 Games Are You Wishlisting?

Rykdrew

The games i like, I just have on Steam: Split Fiction, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk.

From Nintendo i would be Mario Kart, but.....but...no battle mode?? The only mode i like to play in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? I am out.

I wont by Switch 2, i prefer waiting for the New Rog Ally. So much better for me.

Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?

Rykdrew

@AlonditeFE i dont know where you live, but here, almost every month, Street Fighter 6 is $24 equivalent.

Not the $59 Switch 2.

Othe street fighter games are cheaper. Ultra Street Fighter IV i paid $5 on sale. street fighter V i paid $7.

If Switch 2 has these other street fighter games, i dont think it will be steam price. It will be $29...$39...$49.

Steam games fantastic price.

I paid Elden Ring on Steam $19, two months ago.

Re: Please Make Sure You're Wearing Trousers When Using Switch 2's Mouse Controls

Rykdrew

@Vaporeon_meme i will put a table front of my sofa? To play on my 98" samsung TV? And after playing i will put this table where, on my Kitchen?

The only way i will play with a mouse will be in front of my PC.So, this way, i prefer my pc than any videogame to play games. PC is so much better (any kind of games: from Street Fighter to Counter Strike), beacause PC has online multiplayer for free, cloud save for free, bigger community, more people playing and the best online connection. And...the best mousepads.

Sometimes i play Steam Deck on my 98" TV, my home cinema. But i tryed to play steam deck using a mouse there and its unplayable. Not comfortable. Switch 2 mouse will be the same.

Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?

Rykdrew

@Spider-Kev i have 160 games on my nintendo switch.

30 nintendo games.

The nintendo games are the less played games on my Switch.

I played 15 hours Super Mario 3d World.
55 hours Smash Bros
10 hours Mario Tennis Aces
10 hours Splatoon 3
20 hours Mario Party
5 hours Metroid Prime
5 hours Metroid Dread
And so on...

But i played
1620 hours Binding of Isaac
325 hours Brotato
120 hours Dead Cells
100 hours Balatro
65 hours Hollow Knight

Nintendo games is not "THE factor" here. And my Steam Deck plays my Switch games. I can play smash bros, mario wonder, mario kart and so on, on my Steam Deck Oled.

Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?

Rykdrew

@KingMike we live in a World that Steam exists, and you pay $3 $7, $11< $24 for AAA games with weekly sales.

We live in a World where a 2017 Nintendo game is full $60, or a low budget Advance Wars 1+2 (2023 game) is still full $60.

Now...full $80 on Switch 2 LOL

Steam Deck Oled is the way to go.

  • online multiplayer for free (much more people playing and best connection and quality)
  • chat and voice chat for free (no subscription)
  • cloud save for free
  • game upgrade for free

And you can play your steam games on TV, Ipad, PC, Steam Deck....

Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?

Rykdrew

Steam Deck Oled is so much better now, with Switch 2 on the table.

Steam games=you buy and can play on TV, PC, Steamdeck...i play sometimes on my Ipad Pro using Steam Link.

Steam = cheaper games. The way to go.

Steam Deck is $399 to $640

But i buy AAA games paying $3, $7, $9, $11.

The $80 Street Fighter 6 Switch 2 edition, i paid $24 on steam.

The $80 Elden Ring Switch 2 Edition, I paid $19 on Steam

For example...The Witcher 3 upgrade to 4k on steam is FREE (also other games upgrades). Why I'd pay a upgrade fee for 4k on nintendo games? Greed, greed, greed.

Steam Deck = online multiplayer for free, cloud saves for free. Much more people to play online, with total freedom to chat (or voice chat) with them if you want interact, for free.

Nintendo' s 2017 games are full price. Nobody buys the 2023 Advance Wars 1+2, a low budget nintendo game. But its still $60. LOL

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

Rykdrew

@Fazermint because today you have Steam. And on Steam you buy the AAA games for $5...$10...$20...$30...$35 on sale. With online free (and better quality), chat with friends for free (no subscription fee), free cloud saves. And play anywhere (pc, steam deck, tv, ipad, VR, ...). And usually no costs for games upgrades.

No matter how much a game cost in 90s.

Now, we have Steam.

And Steam is better.

Nintendo' s 2017 games are full price. Nobody buys the 2023 Advance Wars 1+2, a low budget nintendo game. But its still $60. LOL

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

Rykdrew

@Willo567 because these $70 sony games.......four months after...is $30 on sale. I paid $27 on The Last Of Us on Steam in my country. Nintendo $60 games here never, NEVER are lower than $45 for 2017 games (on sale).

And $80 nintendo games...one day..after 4 - 6 years ....will be $60 on sale, probably.

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

Rykdrew

@MSaturn cyberpunk 2077 is $12 this week on Steam in my country.
Hogwarts Legacy $9
The Witcher 3 Complete Edition $4

Steam games=you buy and can play on TV, PC, Steamdeck...i play sometimes on my Ipad Pro using Steam Link.
