Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?

Rykdrew

@AlonditeFE i dont know where you live, but here, almost every month, Street Fighter 6 is $24 equivalent.

Not the $59 Switch 2.

Othe street fighter games are cheaper. Ultra Street Fighter IV i paid $5 on sale. street fighter V i paid $7.

If Switch 2 has these other street fighter games, i dont think it will be steam price. It will be $29...$39...$49.

Steam games fantastic price.

I paid Elden Ring on Steam $19, two months ago.

Re: Please Make Sure You're Wearing Trousers When Using Switch 2's Mouse Controls

Rykdrew

@Vaporeon_meme i will put a table front of my sofa? To play on my 98" samsung TV? And after playing i will put this table where, on my Kitchen?

The only way i will play with a mouse will be in front of my PC.So, this way, i prefer my pc than any videogame to play games. PC is so much better (any kind of games: from Street Fighter to Counter Strike), beacause PC has online multiplayer for free, cloud save for free, bigger community, more people playing and the best online connection. And...the best mousepads.

Sometimes i play Steam Deck on my 98" TV, my home cinema. But i tryed to play steam deck using a mouse there and its unplayable. Not comfortable. Switch 2 mouse will be the same.

Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?

Rykdrew

@Spider-Kev i have 160 games on my nintendo switch.

30 nintendo games.

The nintendo games are the less played games on my Switch.

I played 15 hours Super Mario 3d World.
55 hours Smash Bros
10 hours Mario Tennis Aces
10 hours Splatoon 3
20 hours Mario Party
5 hours Metroid Prime
5 hours Metroid Dread
And so on...

But i played
1620 hours Binding of Isaac
325 hours Brotato
120 hours Dead Cells
100 hours Balatro
65 hours Hollow Knight

Nintendo games is not "THE factor" here. And my Steam Deck plays my Switch games. I can play smash bros, mario wonder, mario kart and so on, on my Steam Deck Oled.

Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?

Rykdrew

@KingMike we live in a World that Steam exists, and you pay $3 $7, $11< $24 for AAA games with weekly sales.

We live in a World where a 2017 Nintendo game is full $60, or a low budget Advance Wars 1+2 (2023 game) is still full $60.

Now...full $80 on Switch 2 LOL

Steam Deck Oled is the way to go.

  • online multiplayer for free (much more people playing and best connection and quality)
  • chat and voice chat for free (no subscription)
  • cloud save for free
  • game upgrade for free

And you can play your steam games on TV, Ipad, PC, Steam Deck....

Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?

Rykdrew

Steam Deck Oled is so much better now, with Switch 2 on the table.

Steam games=you buy and can play on TV, PC, Steamdeck...i play sometimes on my Ipad Pro using Steam Link.

Steam = cheaper games. The way to go.

Steam Deck is $399 to $640

But i buy AAA games paying $3, $7, $9, $11.

The $80 Street Fighter 6 Switch 2 edition, i paid $24 on steam.

The $80 Elden Ring Switch 2 Edition, I paid $19 on Steam

For example...The Witcher 3 upgrade to 4k on steam is FREE (also other games upgrades). Why I'd pay a upgrade fee for 4k on nintendo games? Greed, greed, greed.

Steam Deck = online multiplayer for free, cloud saves for free. Much more people to play online, with total freedom to chat (or voice chat) with them if you want interact, for free.

Nintendo' s 2017 games are full price. Nobody buys the 2023 Advance Wars 1+2, a low budget nintendo game. But its still $60. LOL

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

Rykdrew

@Fazermint because today you have Steam. And on Steam you buy the AAA games for $5...$10...$20...$30...$35 on sale. With online free (and better quality), chat with friends for free (no subscription fee), free cloud saves. And play anywhere (pc, steam deck, tv, ipad, VR, ...). And usually no costs for games upgrades.

No matter how much a game cost in 90s.

Now, we have Steam.

And Steam is better.

Nintendo' s 2017 games are full price. Nobody buys the 2023 Advance Wars 1+2, a low budget nintendo game. But its still $60. LOL

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

Rykdrew

@Willo567 because these $70 sony games.......four months after...is $30 on sale. I paid $27 on The Last Of Us on Steam in my country. Nintendo $60 games here never, NEVER are lower than $45 for 2017 games (on sale).

And $80 nintendo games...one day..after 4 - 6 years ....will be $60 on sale, probably.

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

Rykdrew

@MSaturn cyberpunk 2077 is $12 this week on Steam in my country.
Hogwarts Legacy $9
The Witcher 3 Complete Edition $4

Steam games=you buy and can play on TV, PC, Steamdeck...i play sometimes on my Ipad Pro using Steam Link.

Steam = cheaper games. The way to go.

Steam Deck is $399 to $640

Re: Nier Automata's Dev Was "Ordered" To Ignore What The West Thinks Of His Game

Rykdrew

It's fair. I don't like Japanese culture, history, and anything that is too Japanese doesn't really appeal to me.

So it's fair to choose a target audience and work for it, even if it's not for me.

I much prefer Cyberpunk 2077 to Zelda, for example.

And no one has to agree or disagree. All opinions are legitimate!

That's all right.

About Nier Automata = I did not like this game. 4/10 for me. Too boring.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd March)

Rykdrew

- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: my most played game on the Switch. My wife and I are addicted. Every day we play 1 championship of 6 tracks, and 2 balloon battle tournaments of 8 rounds. This gives about 1 hour and 40 minutes of gameplay per day.

- Rogue Legacy 2: what a wonderful game. I can't stop playing it. Extremely fun.

- Metroid Prime Remastered: I'm trying. I swear. When I don't like something I stay quiet, but this time I just can't. What a pathetic game. Bad. Terrible. Zero fun. The layout of the maps is a mess, ugly graphics and design, boring gameplay. Boring. The button mapping on the controller is terrible. The gameplay is weak. The game is slow, limited. A game of 3/10 for me. Nintendo could have tried harder and put many improvements in this Remaster. I probably won't finish it due to sheer lack of fun. Metroid Dread (and old metroids) is far superior. There's no way I'm buying Metroid Prime 4. I thought Metroid in 3D was horrible.

Nintendo urgently needs to learn how to develop artificial intelligence in the enemies of its games. This simplistic scripted model is starting to get boring. And this game is a great example of this: the dumbest and most obvious enemies I've ever seen.

Metroid Prime would be a little less boring if at least the enemies actually faced you, with intelligence and strategy. There should be better combat. Even though it's an adventure FPS. The aliens are capable of building ships and when it's time to fight, they don't do anything, they just exist there in a silly script. zero immersion.

It seems like you buy Metroid Prime just to walk. Walk and see a static and dead scenario. You walk, and walk, and walk. And come back, and walk again, through the same scenarios 10 times. You go back and forth... at a slow speed, and occasionally, you face something, more or less relevant. It feels like a display of scenarios and not a game.

I feel relieved. I said everything I felt while playing Metroid Prime, with all sincerity, and without any special care because it was a Nintendo game. I feel 10 kilos lighter now.

Re: Poll: What Switch Game Could You Not Live Without?

Rykdrew

Nintendo Games?

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: 305 hours and going...(2 hours everyday with my wife, playing battle mode)

The Second Nintendo Game most played here is Clubhouse Games 51: Worldwide Classics, 60 hours, mostly Yatch Dice!

My best non-Nintendo game on Nintendo Switch is The Binding of Isaac. For me, Binding of Isaac Repentance is the best game ever made. By far. I have 750 hours. My wife 1925 hours.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Tops Switch Charts In Opening Month (US)

Rykdrew

@JohnnyMind "Love to see Country Returns on top on Switch specifically and at least 8th in general and that's without digital sales!"

On top of this chart it says: "Physical & Full Game Digital from the E-Shop sales".

About Final Fantasy 7....here, Rebirth + Remake twin pack, was about $45 (in Steam Store). Incredible price!

Re: No Wins For Nintendo At DICE Awards, But Balatro Bags A Three Of A Kind

Rykdrew

@Reztobi Hollow Knight, Hades and Dead Cells , and The Binding of Isaac!

I have 430 hours in The Binding of Isaac + repentance DLC and i have 250/637 achievements

My wife has 2000+ hours in The Binding of Isaac (Steam + Switch) and 400+ achievements.

I am discovering new events, enemies, bosses and stages in Binding of Isaac. Bizarre!

Re: No Wins For Nintendo At DICE Awards, But Balatro Bags A Three Of A Kind

Rykdrew

@Reztobi "Astro Bot is a great game but I just found it far too short to be worth the cost of a full AAA game.
If I'm going to spend $60 on a game I want it to last at least 20 hours, it's hard to justify $60 on a game you can beat in half a weekend 😂."

Agree. Like Metroid Dread, Mario Wonder, Luigi's Mansion, Bayonetta, Astral Chain.... ... ...

Re: Talking Point: Why An LCD Screen Isn't The End Of The World For Switch 2

Rykdrew

I'm not getting a Switch 2.

I'll jump directly to Switch 2 Oled.

I'll buy a Steam Deck Oled next week. I prefer pay more for it than buy the LCD Switch 2.

I own a lot of Switch games i've never played, like: Metroid Remastered, Fire Emblem Engage (and DLC), Mario odyssey, and more 30 games...including nintendo games.

I have only 50 hours in Smash Bros Ultimate, 5 hours in Splatoon 3. I barely played a lot of nintendo games i own on Nintendo Switch.

I can wait...

I play 90% in handheld mode.

Re: US Physical Game Spending Continued To Decline Last Year, Now Sits At Half 2021's Numbers

Rykdrew

I am digital only.

I don´t have patience to exchange the cartridge. I have 200+ switch games. Only 5 are physical.

These are the games I play the least, including Smash Bros Ultimate. Because the cartridge that is there will stay there for months, because I won't have the patience to change it. I play mostly in portable mode. On TV or in my Home Cinema I only play Steam games.

I have 4000+ cartridges, CDS, DVDS...for 32 videogames.
And I wanted to set them all on fire, or throw them in the trash, every time I needed to clean and maintain them in the past.

These 4,000+ games and video games are gathering dust in my parents' attic. And I don't have the patience to open these boxes and see if they still work.

The video games: Atari, Odyssey, Coleco, Intelivision, NES, Master System, Mega Drive, Sega CD, 32x, CD-I, Sega Saturn, SNES, N64, Dreamcast, 3DO, PlayStation 1,2,3,4, Neo Geo, Neo Geo CD, Game Cube, Wii, Game Gear, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, NDS, Neo Geo Pocket, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Xbox, Xbox 360.

I have no patience for retro games. I'll never play them again in my entire life. I don't even have an old TV to play them on. And the bad picture on old TVs doesn't help. My house is all modern. The retro games I play today are digital, on Steam and on the Nintendo Switch.

The fate of this pile of games and video games will be a donation to charity, or they will go away with my parents' house, the day they pass away and we sell the house.
