I still remember the trailer with them sitting in the desert... at least it looked like Beyond Good and Evil at that point, those later ones looked like something else entirely.
I played on GameCube, I recall quite liking the game, but finding the ending really abrupt. I've never felt that interested in revisiting the game, but it's good for fans of the original. The performance though, sounds disappointing. The GameCube game I would most want back is Rogue Squadron III.
I had the game on PS3 and I don't know, I just didn't see quite why it had such an impact... I thought it was OK, but just didn't hold my interest even as someone who grew up with video games from the Atari 2600 onwards.
I'd only ever played the original, but I picked up 3 last weekend in Cex as I skipped it when it came out. It's fun enough, but I'm still not sure it's a series for me, will play some more later in the week and see. It looks great though no doubt.
I went to Brighton a few months ago and there was an actual proper GAME shop, not just 'in Sports Direct'. Best thing I've bought there in recent years was the Game Gear / Master System module for the Retron 5, they weirdly had it in stock cheap for collection and it's a pain to find online for a decent price.
Does anyone else find that Battlefront 2 has has performance stutters since the last update, still not fixed by the present one? Its odd they seem to mainly happen at the beginning of a game, even in offline single player. I might try moving the game to internal storage, but the file size takes up so much room I'm not sure its worth it to see if any better.
Metroid: Zero Mission, I did complete this game back on GBA (think I still have the cart) and what a great game it was, and still is. Also may play some Perfect Dark finally, I was a Saturn owner so never had a N64 and only played the demo of the HD version on 360. Need to renew my NSO subscription now too as is about to expire.
Star Wars Battlefront also has a new update, though quickly taking a look it seems Battlefront 2 still has occasional performance hitches on Switch which were introduced in the previous update. Hoth looks immediately better than it did before though. Might check some other maps later, I still find the game enjoyable to play even offline.
I'd not really noticed to be honest. I re-mapped the controls for the familiar duel stick set up and played a bit of the game which felt responsive enough. I had the demo of the HD version on 360.
I'm happy that it looks like Metroid Prime, the lonely isolated atmosphere of the series must be challenging to capture in a punchy trailer. Remastered reminded me of how great the original was, could say it primed a new audience of those who never played it before or like myself, who'd not revisited it in years.
Best scenario would be a PS4 / PS5 situation, you buy it once and is more visually complete on the new hardware. Having said that, the OLED adds a lot to how good a Switch game can look portable, Prime Remastered looks great and this new game looks like it would really benefit from the OLED screen. I'm still hoping Switch 2 launches with an OLED option.
Mainly been playing WRC Generations on PS4 since picking it up in a sale a few weeks back. Best rally game I've played in a long time and still visually impresses me, even on PS4 (Switch is my only other current console at the moment).
Also picked up Vampyr on Switch, it suffers quitle badly in the visuals, but portable on the OLED it can look OK at times. It's an unusual game with some interesting design.
I played the first one on PS4, looked really good, but the world somehow felt a bit like set dressing. By the end, I was a bit bored. Did exploit the fun glitch though where you could get your mount to 'fly'. I started the sequel (again on PS4), but gave up not long into the game. Be interested to see how the Lego version is.
It was fun on PS3, but still not quite as good as I'd wanted it to be. Great Green Hill Zone theme remix though, was great. I had SA on Dreamcast and I missed the Adventure Fields in SA2... Unlocking Green Hill in SA2 (perhaps a precursor to Generations) was almost impossible. I got close, then got lucky as I bought a VMU with a save file with the stage unlocked. Gamefaqs also used to host Dreamcast saves you could download direct to the VMU using the Dreamcast web browser.
Anyway, I found Generations OK, I also liked the 3DS version, so might check it out on Switch. Is it confirmed as 30 or 60fps, I'm not sure. I feel Superstars is underrated though, it provided a much more acurate feeling of 2D Sonic gameplay in 2.5 than the original Generations, in my opinion.
After playing Wizardy some more I've gome back to the great Switch port of Legend of Grimrock.
Also dusted of my PS4 as bought WRC 8 and Generations in the PSN sale. I'd not played the series in a while but they are both really enjoyable rally games for me, at least on PS4, the Switch ports less so.
Working today, but hopefully some more time for Wizardry on Switch. Have my party to about level 9 so far, which felt like a necessary grind once monsters can poison you. I'd never played the original game, but this modern presentation is really great. Also may get back to Penny's Big Break Away.
Picked us Wizardry and really enjoying the game, I'd never played it before but the gameplay holds up and the updated graphics look good on Switch. Also still playing some Endless Ocean Luminous, the online dives are really relaxed to play.
Probably also play some more Super Mario Land, Lotus 2 on the Mega Drive and maybe some Star Wars Battlefront.
No, I had the original game when it released and while I liked the style, I've just never been much of a fan of role-playing games, with the exception of 1st person games like Dungeon Master.
Probably play Super Mario Land some more on NSO, so glad to see it on the sevice and I have a lot of nostala for the game.
Also picked up F1 for the Mega Drive for £5 in CeX, a really good price for a great racing game I'd totally forgotten. Have also gone back to Star Wars: Battlefront 2 for PS4 and after the (52 GB!?) update to actually play the game, am enjoying the space battles a lot, good arcade style action even in single player mode.
Finally! Super Mario Land is one of my favouites, so very glad to see it added. 35 years though, I still remember seeing a 'real' game on a handheld was so impressive at the time, after only having played LCD portable games prior to this.
Still enjoying Endless Ocean Luminous, while the gameplay loop can be repetitive and the story mode is pretty much just a few cut scenes so far, I still find the game enjoyable and have been playing the first online event. I'd like to see them continue to support and evolve the game.
Aside from that, might play some Ghouls 'n Ghosts and still have to finish Penny's Big Breakaway and Freedom Planet 2.
Also realised I have a few 'free' PS1 games on PS4 as I originally bought them on PS3, and they're actually better than the versions I bought years ago as they offer the US version. MediEvil was recently added. That's a good approach to digital retro releases, not asking you to 'buy' them again.
I enjoyed playing the game over the last week or so. While the procedural generation is a bit obvious, I like that you can view and share dive IDs for generated maps, so you can find some good ones online. I've not really played the story mode past chapter 1, but I think I'm somewhere around 2500 scans.
Hope it's good, if announced this year, I'd be ready for a new Switch, I just hope there is an OLED model. After enjoying the Wii and moving over to PlayStation during the Wii U era, Nintendo really won back my interest with Switch. I have high hopes for the follow up, as I almost exclusively game on the Switch these days.
I bought it digitally, am enjoying the game. I also noticed a lot of players from Japan online, certainly noticed the numbers increasing once I've started an online dive. I also like that people can share dive IDs if they get an interesting map. My first online dive had some super deep trenches, one with a lava flow!
Hmm, well I've played both Abzu and Subnautica and I prefer this game, goes to show how subjective an assessment can be, I suppose. Beyond the under water setting, I think they are quite different games by design. I recall I enjoyed the originals on Wii, and this game is pretty much as relaxed to play as the first one from my memory. I've even had fun with the online mode, and I never play games online. I think I'll be dipping in to play this game a fair bit.
I bought Endless Ocean Luminous and quite enjoying swimming about, in contrast also picked up Penny's Big Breakaway in the sale which somehow passed me by. It's a really fun game!
I bought it and started playing, I like it. I did enjoy the Wii games, so it takes me back! I might even try a couple of these online things, and I never play games online particularly.
I mean it's a design choice, and they went with pushing the visuals. I much prefer the fluidity of 60fps, but resolution also matters to me as I don't like blurry visuals.
I enjoyed the originals, more my type of game than Subnautica, which I'm not so much a fan of. The relaxing atmosphere was kind of the point of Endless Ocean for me, but the online focus in this new game does seem quite a change, and not one that interests me so much. I remember Endless Ocean 2 having a good story, creating a real sense of mystery through it's exploration, which it sounds this may lack in comparison. I'll definitely look up a range of reviews though, as I'd quite like to play a very chilled game at the moment, and I did really enyoy the first two.
Also, I suddenly feel like playing Scuba Dive on the Spectrum now, ha.
I mentioned in the original article, they were never removed from the classic mode so I found the whole preservation position odd, and seemingly based on misinformation, considering all pictures in the game were altered and replaced for the remaster. They added some new assets, removed them, and are now adding them again. Those lockers are two lockers in a room full of lockers with the same repeating texture, in an expansion that was never on console and probably one that most people never played before.
I cannot see this being a censorship issue, I mean you can 'newly' pose Lara in a bathrobe in photo mode, if you really want to.
Still on Freedom Planet 2 and picked up Ghosts 'N Goblins Resurrection in the sale, holds up really well to the PS4 version played when it was first released.
I was intending to play some more Star Wars Battle Front but the recent patch has badly impacted performace on Battle Front 2 even in offline mode. Whereas Mos Eisley ran fine before, its a juddery mess with flickering shadows now. Even the space battles have moments where the framerate just seems to freeze.
I had the original on the GameCube, but I wasn't as big a fan as a lot of people here, just wasn't my type of game and I sold it on. Nice it's coming back for fans, but not one I'll be picking up.
If you own the game, I'd advise do not update if you're playing offline. I did, and the game seems to run worst, really distracting frame hitching in Battlefront 2 I didn't notice before at all. I just played Mos Eisley which ran OK before, now has terrible performance and flickering shadows all over the place.
The aiming also feels much more twitchy. On Switch, this patch is awful, Battlefront 2 is now pretty much unplayable for me. Honestly, do they even play test these patches at all.
I wanted to play this so picked it up on PS4 after the Switch cancellation. Was interesting and had atmosphere (despite the actual moon lacking in that department), but I never did get around to completing the game.
These higher resolution assets were added in the remaster before their removal. Almost all 'pictures' in the game are altered or replaced in this way, and the original graphics mode in remastered version of The Lost Artifact still maintain the original 'pin ups' which are so low resolution you can barely make them out.
Weird as they are still there in the original graphics mode of the collection, in their original super low resolution state. For broader context, many of the pictures in the game have been altered or replaced as the originals are barely recognisable. It appears that here, they added a new asset and have subsequently removed it.
The pin ups just disappear if you switch to the remastered version graphics, so in that sense the original is still 'preserved' as the lower resolution versions are still present... I'd never played The Lost Artifact expansion before anyway, as was not on consoles.
Still playing Freedom Planet 2 mainly, but also been going back to No Man's Sky which looks so much better on Switch now than it did at launch. Also picked up We Love Katamari in current the sale and might play some proper retro games... maybe Buggy Boy on the C64.
I've started playing Freedom Planet 2, and even though I could never really get into the first game, the sequel has really clicked with me. The graphics are really well done and the music is also great, I've already found myself listening to the soundtrack, particularly the first stage's tune.
Aside from that, still need to get back to HEBEREKE Enjoy Edition or Tomb Raider II on the remastered collection.

@FantasiaWHT I think we'd tend to use 'range' for a selection of products, would probably be first word I'd think of at least.
Was in my local Uniqlo today and noticed their Capcom 40th T-Shirts were out as the weather is improving, also quite nice designs.
