If I end up deciding to get these games (probably close to launch since there's no point in waiting for a sale haha), then I'll be starting with LeafGreen so I can get myself a Gen 3 Sneasel and eventually Weavile!

@anoyonmus FireRed has the Ekans, Oddish, Psyduck, Growlithe, Shellder, Elekid, Scyther, and Wooper lines plus Murkrow, Qwilfish, Delibird, and Skarmory.

LeafGreen has the Sandshrew, Vulpix, Bellsprout, Slowpoke, Staryu, Magby, Azurill, and Remoraid lines plus Pinsir, Misdreavus, Sneasel, and Mantine.

Also, if the Deoxys event returns, you'll get the Attack Forme in FireRed and the Defense Forme in LeafGreen (this was when its forme was set by the version rather than being changeable with an item).

It's worth noting that the 37 score on Opencritic is averaging only the reviews of what Opencritic has dubbed "top critics", of which there are only three at the moment (a 2/5 from MonsterVine, a 3/10 from GameRant, and a 4/10 from Noisy Pixel).

Either way, this game doesn't look all too great, so the low scores aren't surprising. Nothing I've seen has made me interested

The added content looks alright enough, but if I buy this it would probably be more as an excuse to replay the base game than anything

@Aneira Depends on the exact date / how much free time you have, but I doubt it. The game's HowLongToBeat page lists 27 hours as the expected time for beating the main story and 64.5 hours as the time for 100% completion

@Bizzyb The Switch 1 version runs at 720p, not 1080p. I do agree that 810p variable at 30 fps sounds like a terrible Switch 2 optimization job though

I've been playing this a decent amount today, I wouldn't call it buttery smooth but the jump from 30 FPS to 60 is very noticeable and appreciated! A resolution bump on top of that would be awesome but I'm not getting my hopes up too high

I've spent "80 hours or more" according to my Switch 2 and I'd still give the game a 9 as I would've at launch, albeit a lower 9 than before. There's so much amazing stuff in the game and the lesser content can mostly be ignored in my case...or at least it could've been before the update. My most played mode by far is online races, which isn't an option in the second poll so I voted VS Race which is the closest alternative

MK8D still holding on like this is fascinating.

BTW @JimNorman The Switch OLED should be above the Switch Lite in the hardware ranking

@TheExile285 NBA 2K25 was 59.2 GB on the Switch 1, file sizes this huge are the norm for 2K games

@Ulysses Each generation of Pokémon has been made for the newest handheld at the time of its release (Gen 5 started before the 3DS launched in Japan), so the odds of Gen 10 being Switch 2 exclusive are pretty high imo

Since there's no reward beyond placing top three in a cup in this game, I decided to go three stars or bust. I've managed it for all the 150cc cups and rallies, but Mirror Mode might be a bit much. Even the Mushroom Cup was destroying me when I tried for the first time

@somnambulance I'm pretty sure you can get stars in multiplayer; IIRC I got three stars on the Ice Rally while playing with someone else

That's a pretty nice box art! It's a shame almost no one is going to get it because the physical version is exorbitantly expensive compared to the Switch 2 bundle (exaggerating just a little bit)
