Re: Random: OG Donkey Kong Country TV Series Cast Reunites For Animated Short

RareFan

Except for Krusha's voice actor, Len Carlson. He sadly passed away in 2006. As for the animated short, this was such a delight. I can not believe, how much effort fans sometimes put into these fan projects. I really hope Nintendo will realize soon, that DKC fans actually like K. Rool and the Kremling Krew and only see them as the true main bad guys of this franchise.

Of course, they can always switch the enemies, but so far, all of them were a disappointment. The evil Kongs from DK: Jungle Beat were just evil Kongs and nothing more, the Tikis from DKCR were unique and creative, but lack personality and charm, and the Snowmads from DKC:TF, especially their leader, feel more like Arctic and Antarctic versions of the Kremlings.

Although, the film is nothing more than an average kids film that is only so successful because of the Mario IP attached to it, it is still miles better than the animated stuff Hollywood produced the last years. Anyone remembers Strange World?

No Kremlings again? Seriously, why does Nintendo hate them so much? If they really do not want to use them any more, Nintendo can just sell them to Microsoft. There are rumours going around of a revival of the Banjo-Kazooie games. Maybe K. Rool can have a guest appearance there.

Everything that was popular is coming back. We are still in this reboot phase, where no one really is interested in new ideas. Heck, TMNT and Tiny Toons are both getting reboots this year. And Darkwing Duck, Daria, and Futurama are also getting reboots/revivals in the near future as well.

Re: Mario Movie Expected To Surpass $1 Billion At The Global Box Office

Illumination Films usually pass 1 billion or come very close to this number. Nintendo and Illumination also really did a great marketing campaign for this film, as both typically do for their products. Mario is also one of the most well-known IPs on this planet. People recognize him more than Mickey Mouse. Plus, a lot of parents will not take their kids any more to see a Disney/Pixar film, therefore one of the biggest competitors is out of the race.

Re: Talking Point: Which Nintendo Franchise Should Illumination Tackle Next?

Donkey Kong Country, just so they can bring back some lost characters. You have no idea, how happy I was to finally see Swanky Kong and Chunky Kong again. Imagine how well of a job they would do, by bringing K. Rool, and the animal buddies back.

But also Star Fox would fit quite well with them, since they already did films with talking animals. Illumination is the only company, that can make a blockbuster with a new IP. If they make a Star Fox film, that millions of people will see, Star Fox could become another strong series again for Nintendo.
