Re: Crash Bandicoot 4 Sales Reportedly Surpass Five Million

Indeed, this development presents promising prospects for revitalizing other beloved 90s platform mascots, such as Spyro or Banjo-Kazooie. As for Crash 4 itself, while I was initially inclined to purchase it, two significant factors dissuaded me. Firstly, the alterations made to Tawna for the sake of political correctness raised concerns. Additionally, the deliberate increase in difficulty level, seemingly fuelled by internet memes comparing it to the notorious challenge of Dark Souls, detracted from my enthusiasm.

Re: It's Official, SEGA Has Declared 2024 The "Year Of Shadow"

@epicgamner
While I may not possess the same level of perceived coolness as Sonic the Hedgehog, my discernment leads me to recognize the inherent flaws and inconsistencies within this franchise. Consequently, I opt to align myself with more polished and consistently engaging game series such as Mario, Zelda, and others of similar caliber.

Re: It's Official, SEGA Has Declared 2024 The "Year Of Shadow"

Once again, it is: "SEGA does what Nintendoes". While Nintendo had the "Year of Luigi", SEGA is now doing the "Year of Shadow the Hedgehog" - or "Edgy the Hedgy" as I sometimes call him. I'm glad they introduced Shadow as a character into the Sonic series. I never really liked Sonic as a kid, but I could never quite put my finger on why until Shadow was introduced and even got his own game. This opened my eyes and showed me that this series is just trying too hard to be "cool". This has only increased my respect for series like Mario, Spyro and Banjo-Kazooie.

Re: More Sonic Game Rumours Surface Online After 'Sonic Toys Party' Leaks

RareFan

Am I the only one who is getting tired of these endless remakes? Whether it's about video games, music, movies, series, books, or comics - almost everything is just reheated once again. Wouldn't it be time for a bit more originality? It's frustrating to see how our society seemingly can't create something truly new any more.

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed Is Bringing The Mayhem To Switch

RareFan

Nickelodeon is really committed to making this the next big version of the TMNTs. They promote this version much more than they did with Rise of the TMNT. Personally, I can't do anything with it. After watching the film, I think the Ninja Turtles just aren't what they used to be. Splinter is now bizarre and strange, April is chubby and African-American (presumably lesbian), Casey Jones (at least in Rise of the TMNT) is a woman, and who knows what they plan to do with Shredder.

Re: Random: Some Rare Fans Are Upset About The Latest Switch Online Announcement

RareFan

I'm surprised that Microsoft is still so committed to Rare. The company is no longer worth anything. Even if they constantly brag about Sea of Thivies being a success. Which I personally very much doubt as I hardly hear anyone talking about it on the internet. I mean, how long has it been since Everwild was announced? We haven't heard anything about it in years.

Re: Kirby Developer HAL Laboratory Recruiting For New Projects

RareFan

Kirby is a very flexible character. But they have not done much with him. I wouldn't mind seeing a more open-world Kirby game. Not like Zelda, but more like Mario Odyssey. Also, since we have no new Mario RPG series left - unless of course the remakes are successful enough - I actually wouldn't mind seeing a Kirby RPG for once.

Man, I miss King K. Rool... I understand, why they went with Tiki Tong, because, at the time, when they made the deal, DKCR was the most current game of the series, and served as a blueprint for the park. But still, Tiki Tong is such a forgettable villain. The only thing people remember from this guy is that he wasn't K. Rool. I hope Nintendo brings back the Kremlings some day.

Re: Xbox Acknowledges Fan Requests For New Banjo-Kazooie Game

RareFan

No, please, not Toys for Bob. They have no idea what makes a collect-a-thon fun (looking at you, Crash 4), have no sense of humour (looking at you, Crash 4 again) and create terrible character designs (again, I am looking at you, Crash 4). The Banjo-Kazooie series is the complete opposite of what Toys for Bob stands for. It is over the top cartoony, sometimes a bit offensive, has a lot of hidden adult jokes, and has some questionable character designs, but this is, what mad the series so fun. Toys for Bob has no idea about fun, neither when it comes to gameplay nor humour.

Re: Random: Waluigi Designer Shares Scrapped Character Art Of "Walpeach"

RareFan

I am glad that she never made the cut. She does not really bland in well with the other two nasty counterparts. Wario & Waluigi look like evil, rotten versions of Mario & Luigi. This Wapeach on the other hand looks like a teenager version of Peach, dressed up like a gothic cat for some reason. If they ever want to bring in a female partner for the Wario Bros., they should just use Captain Syrup from the Wario Land series.

Re: Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution Is Bringing The Lost GBA Adventure To Switch Next Year

RareFan

I would prefer a new Shantae, but I've always wanted to play this formerly lost game, ever since I saw the screenshots of it in a magazine. It was one of the reasons I wanted a GBA in the first place. And I'll probably buy the GBA module for it. Hopefully it's not too expensive, and hopefully Limited Run Games will deliver this game faster. The last game I ordered from you had to wait nine months until it finally arrived.
