All three are pretty bad at conveying what the game is, but at least the Japanese one is really cool.

I can't tell if this seems terrible or kind ofncool. If they felt confident enough to add a demo, that's a good sign.

I actually came around a bit on the idea of Nobunaga's Ambition Tinder, after scoffing at it, but the reviews were so bad, that I can't bring myself to buy it. I could really see the idea fitting this theme well though.

Wow, what a great review. Spot on about the surface level quality of many newer cozy games. I was not expecting this to get a high score, it looked terrible and derivative to me, but now I'm interested.

Or you could play dave the diver, or the one that's literally just a 3d version of this.

Definitely getting this, Dadish 3 is a decent little precision platformer, and this looks even more up my alley.

Frozen Honey ASMR: Complete Edition. It has all the dlc, including the maple syrup expansion which was previously a ps4 exclusive.

Probably for the best all things concerned. But I'd buy an untouched remaster of the original trilogy. I know they won't, but it would be nice to see Nintendo buy it and give it the ocarina treatment. TS2 is in its own tier.

They definitely implied it at their big announcement when they told everyone they weren't going to shut down.

Their ethos with the sonic license is hilariously similar to the "put a bird on it" sketch from Portlandia.

@Daniel36 Yeah their picture is a weird scan, but I looked it up and still think it's better by a tiny bit.

The color tone of NA is best. It's close though. But not with Japan, that one is awful.

There are ways you could do this film so it isn't awful, but they won't do them. Imagine something along the lines of the 5th element, but not space opera, and I can see that. I want muppets, but it will be all janky cgi and recycled one liners.

@Anachronism Basically. Its happening everywhere though so you must have noticed. Streaming services realizing they can't just spend on everything, and starting to charge for packages with ads that are just cable. Movie companies realizing they can't have unlimited budgets. It's more about irresponsibility than costs, and now, like you said, workers are eating the consequences.

From what I've heard, this game is not actually like hotline Miami at all. The steam reviews are not very convincing for me personally.

Too bad they killed real time directional aiming in police stories, that was basically hotline Miami that had Co op and it was really good before that update.

The people who will like this game will know it's for them.

@Sherlock- I don't care who likes it it's objectively bad. The movement is based on Gameboy Zelda but the screen is twice as wide so it takes ages to move laterally. The puzzles are just "break every pot or push every block until you hit the right one". The dialogue takes forever because your character talks and never has anything interesting to say. And the bad guys don't resent until you beat a temple so if you accidently use a heart it's impossible to get more. The world and temple design are lackluster, and everything looks generic. Plus the save points are too far apart.

It's bad. Just because you know the dev or something doesn't make it good. It was a waste of 7 dollars or whatever I spent. And there are hundreds of ndreds of retro aesthetic games on the shop so you plugging this one is not relevant. Plus you are misleading people into thinking the game is worth their money, which it most definitely is not.

@Sherlock- That game is terrible, stop trying to shoehorn it into a conversation where it doesn't belong. I bought it on sale at launch and it's not even worth what I paid. It's a bad Zelda clone, and is worse than the free demo for "Isles".

I will probably be day one buying this, I wish it was coming right to switch, I'd prefer it there. The devs a cool guy too.

@SwitchVogel Yeah they definitely are a bit too reluctant to discount sometimes, and some games are overpriced, but they maintain a high quality and their designers/programmers seem happy.

@SwitchVogel It absolutely is, at least on switch. They fed the bear and now it keeps coming back. Also I'm in the same boat, waiting for it to drop even more.

That's a compelling trailer. I hope it's as good as it looks.

@Spider-Kev Mario is missing is not a Mario game, and it's bad. They slapped a Mario sticker on generic garbage to sell it. People who like it were the ones unfortunate enough to own it as a kid, and probably didn't have much else to play. Or the sort of people who force themselves to play stuff even when it's bad and then insist its good. I was fortunate enough to have all the games you just listed.

Edit: Just for clarification, there's an ironic enjoyment of stuff like this, but it's the same cheap shallow stuff we all make fun of when it comes to switch. Pancake Bar tycoon, frozen toothpaste asmr, whatever.

@DasWunderkind It's actually called a "superball" or something like that. In SML DX (Which imo is the best romhack ever made), they made it green, and that's when I realized it wasn't supposed to be fire. My friend and I always called it a muffin as kids. SML 2 DX is great too, but that game was already near perfect.

@Heartless666 I keep wondering this. I wonder if another company has an exclusive Mario deal that means Lego can't make minifigures or something, because the animal crossing legos are normal.

God those figures are so silly, just why? Imagine if they just made regularish mini figs and did a Mario kart collectible mini figures wave or something. Different karts and characters in each one and you could mix and match.

Oh man, I love the minigames on ds games. It's really too bad design philosophy has shifted away from that era.

@Samalik You have no semblance of what gambling means in real life terms or how much skill it takes to win at games like poker. There will always be skill level discrepancy, that does not negate what gambling means. I have probably played chess, magic, and poker since before you were born, and I have played some of them with the goal of winning money I needed to live. I understand risk and strategy, and card based gameplay and design. Basketball is skill based too, betting on it is gambling. It's not less so if one of the participants is playing because you are not going to win everything you ever play.

If you're going to compare everything to slot machines or roulette, those are literally just throwing money away. If you're gambling without skill, then you're losing.

@Samalik Well you're definitely wrong about Yugioh since any card game is inherently draw based. And chess is not pure skill unless both players play perfectly, I assure you I am a smart person who has known how to play chess since I was a little kid, but I could outplay someone trying to hustle me at poker easier than I could at chess. And that goes double for Magic, which is not yugioh, but is close enough to make the comparison. Skill and strategy are a huge part of gambling and dumb people do not make money doing it.

The part that changes things is putting money on the line, because if you play no stake poker against a stranger there is nothing to stop someone from making dangerous plays. That's the difference between gambling and not. Once money is on the line, the psychology of everything completely changes and it becomes a gambling game. If you bet someone twenty dollars you can beat them at chess and you can't, that's still gambling if you continue to do it, that's the same as problem gambling.

@Samalik Did someone say that? I have them blocked I guess. Yeah, no, gambling is playing a game for actual personal stakes regardless of chance. Playing chess for money is gambling, play poker for fun is really not.

Yeah they're under fire from peoples' wallets as they fork over hundreds of thousands of dollars as usual. A very small amount of people actually care about mtx, the rest do what they're told.

Everyone should switch to Retroarch for Gameboy emulation anyways. I own them all and stopped using pizza boy ages ago. I stopped using Myboy after they updated for the first time in like five years and ruined the browsing interface. Anyways though, it's not like the apps will be gone.

I don't think this game is probably as good as the cover makes it look. I want that game.

@PinderSchloss That's funny, and this is just an educated guess, but what I think this is, is lazy skinnings of characters who look like this. I've never played overwatch. But like jet looks like a robot, so I assume he is one, and spike is a character with a hat.

@ZimmerRemmiz Well yeah, it's kind of weird to do custom character skins in a game where you mostly don't see your character.
