That is a hard and jarring move. In general the up and downsides are about the same, there's more freedom and choice here, but there's a lot of negative things as well. I don't know if I could give up living in a coastal town in England for America if I already had that. Depends which coastal town and which place in America I guess.
@Mrkittyhead So you'd rather have some random people make a new game called chibi robo then play the exact same game with a different name by the original devs?
I already have one of these by power a, I haven't ever used it, but I was considering doing that for the new warioware, because you need two charged sets of joycons for Max enjoyment, and the one I have charges two, so it's sitting under my TV right now.
@Arkham24601 having realistic gas pedal depression does not make something a proper racing game. Video games are representations, not direct correlations with things in real life. That's like me saying any game with a sword not on switch or Wii isn't the proper sword game because you can't use motion controls to swing it.
The conclusions seem to generally fit what I thought the game was going to be like. I didn't particularly enjoy Hades, it's not a bad game at all, it just wasn't really a rogue like or an action adventure. I don't think pushing the formula on Ninja Turtles is going to make it better for me personally.
I seem to inevitably buy all these sorts of games, even though almost all of them are not very good, and some are just okay. I just can't resist the draw of the promise of classic mid era Zelda.
@Daniel36 No, you're definitely right that these games aren't really rougelikes in any sense. I understand the lineage, and how the term evolved, but at this point there are too many degrees of separation to bare any resemblance, even to a mystery dungeon game, much less a traditional roguelike.
Dude that era of toys. My sister had Polly Pockets (the tiny type) and my Brother had Mini Mutants as well as one Mighty Max. I played with all of them. Those were great toys. I'm not a fan of piles of plastic junk, but those were really great toys. The day I lost my leonardo was a sad one.
I really appreciate what this game is doing, but it doesn't look fun for me.
This is why we can't realistically have a GTA set in England. If you got caught with a gun, you'd come out of prison and the game would be over.
@-wc- Cops do not carry deadly weapons (guns/knives) in The UK as a general rule. It's such a weird things coming from our culture. Obviously there is still police brutality though, but death is less of an impulse. Wow, you're from Oklahoma? I guess that doesn't surprise me, but it's weird to find out where people are from. I'm from Maine, I can just go buy a handgun right now if I wanted and carry it around in my pocket.
Ugh, clone co-op, and the gameplay looks just as boring as the first one. I don't think the first game looks bad, but it's a game I've watched a lot of gameplay of, instead of just buying it, so that should sort of tell you. Typically if I like the way a game looks I turn it off immediately and then buy the game. I was hoping it was Branch out a bit more with the sequel. I hope I'm wrong though.
@Blast16 There were like 15 notable flops that generation, that are usually considered to be all time great games at this point. Okami, psychonauts, eternal darkness, etc. All very marketable titles. One of the things that happened with this game, was that someone wrote an article accusing Michel Ancel of being toxic, because he came up in the generation where you work really hard to get your game made. So he quit to go run an animal sanctuary, and that was around the last time I heard any progress for the sequel.
This article has prompted some of the strangest and most unexpected weird takes and arguments. I love Kiki's delivery service, it's one of the best films ever made. Maybe this will buck the trend of mediocre "aShortlikes", but I bet it's a solid 7/10.
This used to be a top five favorite game for me. It's no longer there, but I do love it, the story and cutscenes are still top five for me, but I can't pretend the game play holds up to something like God of war II, or Shadow of the Colossus.
@AmyTheBrawler-64 I agree, but in this case I do not think they will care and also I don't think it is using any of their copyrighted material except the name Mario.
I really don't like this take on puzzle games. I tend to find puzzle games that aren't challenging to be a waste of time and money, and I'm fine that they're there for other people, that's great, and I think people should make games for different levels. All that being said, it is no way an accessibility issue that some puzzle games are difficult, nor is anyone judging you. There are tons of things I'm not good at, but they're just there, they're not hurting me.
This reads very much like someone who likes playing on PC, well then play on PC. Zelda isn't PC game, and never has been, it's designed for consoles. Personally I hate PC gaming, which is to say sitting at a desk with a mouse and keyboard, and I'm not looking to make the next Nintendo console more like that experience.
@Uncle_Franklin Yeah that's what I meant, crafted world isnt THAT bad, on a scale of games, but the collectible aspect are a chore and you have to kill yourself if you miss one. I think (similar to dkcr) the 2.5d system was cool, but didn't live up to it's promise. It's no wooly world though. And none of them come close to Yoshi's Island.
@Uncle_Franklin The really annoying thing was that they removed multiplayer on the 3DS version of Yoshi's wooly world. Meanwhile in crafted world, if you try to play co-op you just get stuck on each other's backs half the time. I don't think it's as bad as you indicated as a game, but it's got a lot of issues, and honestly it's kind of the same issues that DKC returns has. Collectibles feel more like a chore, and if you miss one you have to replay the whole level to get it. Or kill yourself to start over at a checkpoint.
The formula is what it is and it's fine but that comment shows a startling lack of design knowledge, or drive for innovation. There are plenty of ways to do interesting and new things with Metroid.
This seems like a bit of an exaggeration but it is one of my favorite games ever and definitely teaches rules through gameplay in a very elegant manner.

Re: Ex Chibi-Robo Devs Announce Spiritual Successor 'koROBO'
@Mrkittyhead Ok well clearly this team using the IP wasn't an option or they would have, so it wasn't to strange to assume that.

Re: Nintendo Announces Official Switch Joy-Con Charging Stand
@Coalescence Yeah that's the one I was talking about. I've had it since 2018, and haven't used it yet, but just got it out after move for WarioWare.
