I was almost excited to play overwatch for a minute. In my head I saw beautiful visions of a cowboy bebop timesplitters 2 level, but the trailer quickly relieved me of that radical notion.
I have this on my hacked vita, but I don't know if that got the update with this dlc. I do own Cadence on switch, but... you know... that's got skull kid in it.
I watched the trailer for the film, because I liked the art style, and I love ninja turtles, then one of the turtles mentioned gogurt, and I remembered that art was dead in the mainstream media.
I've never used Yuzu or Skyline just because playing on switch is easier. Though I really want to get a few of the puzzle game on swith running on a smaller device eventually. It's like that quote by Gabe Newell about piracy meaning there is a problem with the service being delivered. Like NBA game pass which is just not an actual option for most NBA fans, so I download the games, but us steam and switch because they're easy and work.
@Faucet You can't just "improve the framerate" on old games, you need to change their source code. Given that they literally used a to hack in this collection, as well as bad filters, I'd say they didn't actually touch the games.
All that being said, a 7 seems really high for this. Honestly is the reviewer ever going to play this again?
@nocdaes There's certainly a market for some of your thinking but it comes down to this. 1. Well made video games are difficult expensive to make regardless of their graphics. 2. It is not smart of Nintendo to make games for older consoles that 30 million people own (and less play) when a hundred million people actively play switch. 3. Even if they made a true SM64 sequel, it would suck because their design philosophies have changed and all those people are executives now.
Trust me nobody wants a true SM64 sequel more than I do, but this all will never happen. My hope is that more companies do the Dave the Diver thing and open basically indie studios. Which is why I was fine when they nominated it for indie game awards even though it really isn't.
@WiiWareWave We really are not. We're seeing the same thing happen in the game industry as happened after streaming services realized they couldn't just spend big on everything and keep seeing more profit every year. Remember all the articles about how awful the industry had gotten and how unhappy everyone was? Well this is the backside of that.
@demacho Yeah but this isn't some large old money from conglomerate with subsidiaries who benefits from keeping their wealth a secret. This was just a surprising amount, EA just bought codemasters a couple years ago for a little more than twice this number, which compared to this seems like a steal.
I don't know if a company paying 500 million to become independent is much of a win. That is a seriously large sum of money for a company I didn't know existed before this article. But embrace is the poster child for speculate to accumulate so it's probably still a good move.
I have heard little but negative reviews about this game, and the positive reviews all feel like people who put up with it because they wanted to like what it was trying to do.
@TAndvig Yes it's better, no it won't fix things if you do it, yes you should still do it, yes I think people who insist on physical media are part of the problem, yes I am too just not as much, yes we're all screwed, no there's not much you can do about it.
Every game in the Super Mario series since 1989 has been good, that's why people buy them. They should work towards making consistency their goal, then sonic would sell better.
Too bad they didn't go for a bit more challenge. I liked the challenge level of the sunsoft "cute trilogy". I feel like I'll probably play this at some point though.
Oh I can feel my blocked list ready to get bigger. Most people who download stuff weren't going to buy it anyways. There are exceptions, and those people just don't care anyways. Some people don't care, and you can't change their mind. Or maybe they're broke, and want to play a game. Play a game sad broke person, life is short.
@CazSonOfCaz This is absolutely untrue, this is one of the most divisive games I know of, and plenty of perfectly smart people have left bad reviews. Most of the criticism is towards making choice being a large part of the game, but them not mattering much.
None of the people you are describing would get past the first two screenshot of this game's purchase page, much less buy it
@Diogmites That's a bit much. They're probably equal. Both insanely talented musicians and composers, and also a lot of Koji Kondo's music has influences that come from the Beatles. Gun to my head forced to make a choice between the Beatles catalog, and Koji's Soundtracks, I'd just choose to be shot.
@-wc- Oh I strongly disagree, there were at least three very specific incidences where it was very clear that people from outside Nintendo had inside information and had basically leaked it. There's rumors, and then there's just information. They definitely told a lot of devs they were aiming for late 2024, I'd bet good money that was the plan up until recently.
Two sweet metroidvania in two days. This feels more like stuff from the last decade like Teslagrad, or Iconoclast, when people were exploring the space instead of copying what was popular.
I've still never played this somehow. It's hard to get excited for a game that looks kind of stupid, even when you know it's actually good. That's why I didn't play Hades for so long.
I've only played putt putt, I assume these are the same? They're great kids games. I wouldn't really enjoy them as an adult I think. Though I wish more people would use the design space for higher complexity games.

Re: Soapbox: Help! I Can't Stop Playing Card Games On Switch
I am looking forward to balatro at some point, but I don't play many card games, because I play Magic and Poker.
Re: The Apocalypse Gets Cosy In 'Highwater', Sailing Onto Switch Next Month
@inkslinger Well yeah, now reading the turn based combat description, I agree. I thought they meant rpg type combat.
Re: The Apocalypse Gets Cosy In 'Highwater', Sailing Onto Switch Next Month
Why call your age a puzzle, adventure game with turn based combat, when you can just say rpg? Beautiful graphics though.
Re: Crypt Of The NecroDancer Returns From The Dead Next Week With "Huge New DLC"

Re: Princess Peach: Showtime! Demo Now Available On The Switch eShop
Oooh, nice one. I won't buy this for ages anyways, but I am excited to see how they use the design space.
Re: Review: New Star GP (Switch) - A Stylish, Moreish Homage To The Likes Of Virtua Racing
@bigpale This is really in no way like the consoles you mentioned. Have you ever played an N64?
Re: Review: New Star GP (Switch) - A Stylish, Moreish Homage To The Likes Of Virtua Racing
This looks like a game to pick up on sale and patched.

Re: Super Mario LEGO Announcement Teased Ahead Of Mario Day 2024
I bet it's real Lego sets and not the weird duplo things they've done so far.

Re: UK Charts: Final Fantasy Pushes Mario vs. Donkey Kong Further Down The Standings
@Digitamamon64 Once upon a time it was because people wanted them to make a new one, but that's coming soon enough.
Re: Review: Top Racer Collection (Switch) - Three Classic Racers And The Odd Backfire
@scully1888 Fair enough, it was an honest question.
Re: UK Charts: Final Fantasy Pushes Mario vs. Donkey Kong Further Down The Standings
@Axecon Why do you care that Gta V is there? It's a good game. As is MK8, there's a reason they keep selling.
Re: Mini Review: A Void Hope (Switch) - A Dark, Immersive, Creepy Little Game
I hate game premises like this. It's like those terrible children's books that are trying to teach a lesson.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Card Games, Board Games, And Deckbuilders

Re: Head To Outer Space In The New Free Update For Vampire Survivors
Yes, please. This is actually a really cool idea.
Re: WarioWare-Like Minigame Collection 'Super 56' Brings The Party To Switch This Year
This seems pretty cool for the price, I'm surprised it flew so under the radar on steam. Usually Nintendo "alternatives" get more coverage.

Re: Saber Interactive Is Reportedly Splitting From Embracer Group
@Arkay I have nothing against them. I'm just saying that's a lot of money. Any escape from embrace is basically a win at this point.
Re: Saber Interactive Is Reportedly Splitting From Embracer Group
@Azuris I swear Crystal Dynamics just persists because of it's cool name.
