Re: Super Mario Party Jamboree Will Include Pauline As A Playable Character

@coolioam That was not directed at you. It gives you a very narrow selection of options that does not mitigate the negative aspects of the system. I'm not alone in this, there are hundreds of thousands of people who hate Mario party for this reason, it doesn't matter how well you design mini games if you encase the entire thing in a random monopoly-esque package. They also didn't do a very good job with the mini game only mode, typically the people who win just happened to be on the winning team more than the best player.

@HotGoomba @coolioam There's no need to be snarky like you know better than me. I own the newest Mario party, and I didn't even insult it I just said it wasn't as good as it should be, which is certainly true. They refuse to add customization options available on their other first party games like Mario Kart and Smash. I want to be able to select my board, select my games, select my rules, and I would rather they add new content to the already existing games. It's not like I'm not willing to pay, I just want to be able to play how I want to play. The series is notorious for creating bad feelings and rifts between people, and they could fix that with a few options that they refuse to add, over and over again.

Re: Worms Armageddon On Switch Will Also Contain The Game Boy Color Version

@-wc- I think the worms on switch is pretty good! I think it's a nostalgia driven factor to some degree, because I didn't play them till I was older. The worms on switch is really customizable, but I know with Armageddon you could like take pictures and add them to make courses and stuff, but I don't know if that will be available here. I think there was more simplicity in options, where the new game lets you choose everything this one was more directed, so it's very much a different era of gaming. I think on my list of best couch competitive games I split a spot between those two games.

I wanted to like this game but I was not particularly impressed. I feel like when you're paying homage to older games, which I love visually, it shouldn't also be torturously boring and tedious to control. And then the sound design is probably one of the most off putting choices of any game I've ever played. Apparently they used real audio footage of some girl during the satanic scare too? I haven't verified that, but I found it annoying.

Re: Crypt Custodian Is A Zelda-Like Metroidvania Where You Play As A Dead Cat

Poodlestargenerica

@Daniel36 It's really getting so silly. Look on mobygames, and they have zelda games listed as "metroidvania gameplay", because you get items to open new locations I guess? Zelda literally came first! Metroidvanias can broadly be describes as open world action platformers, usually with a map, and backtracking. If it's top down, it's not a metroidvania. And yes, I am also saying that the prime games aren't metroidvanias, because then what's the point of genres. Mic drop.

Re: Every Game In The Switch eShop 'Play Together' Sale (North America)

@OctolingKing13 I think that sort of co-op game is awful, but other people really like it. I think it works well for Beat 'em ups, but platformers where both players are the same are not fun at all, and there are so many great co-op games (I probably have 100 or so on switch alone) I don't feel the need to try to force games not designed for it. Cuphead being so hard also means that if one player is much worse than the other, it will jus be miserable. That's just my two cents, tons of people love Rayman Legends, and NSMB in co-op, but I think they're better alone.
