Remember that if this and Cyberpunk can run fine on cartridge, any game in the future that doesn’t outstrip and ends up using the game key method is just lazy.
Can I just say while I respect Square for not raising the price, the fact that optimization practices are so dire in the industry that a 3DS game can’t run on Switch 1 and can’t even fit on a 10th gen cartridge is completely unacceptable.
People are really underselling just how incredible this is.
1. More control over what should be considered ownership.
2. Only need one copy per single player game per household.
3. The 2 weeks thing is both for Nintendo to not lose out on duplicate sales completely but also because recents bad actors from stealing. Like imagine going to a gaming convention and the dev can now personally give you a two week trial of their game. They don’t need to worry about making a proper demo which would cost time and money and you can decide if you want to pay for it. A lot of shorter games can easily be beaten in this time frame as well.
As long as the 2 week loan doesn’t do something stupid and delete your save this is revolutionary and I fully expect MS and Sony to copy in some way.
I agree with most people that Nintendo will probably announce one more remaster for Switch 1 and that will be mostly it.
Honestly my guess is either Wind Waker or Oracle. Maybe if we get lucky something from Fire Emblem, I’d replay Awakening in HD for sure.
As for 3rd party, this feels like the last chance for XDive Offline, anything Mega Man will be greatly appreciated. Star Force collection isn’t likely but I’d buy that day one.
For my “out there” picks, Custom Robo port. Fossil Fighter Remake. PMD: Explorers of Sky remake. Bravely Default 3. A new RPG from the Omori devs. CoD: Black Ops 7. Pokemon Live/Pocket Console Edition. Final Fantasy 11 or 14. Fallout 1/2/NV. Kirby Super Star Ultra Deluxe
This seems like as good a place as any, but I do hope Switch 2 allows for early access titles with appropriate labeling. Imagine how many people bought this game thinking it was a full release.
Normally I’d say it feels like yesterday but life has changed so much it feels like an eternity ago. I’ve used mine at least weekly since launch day.
My top 5 exclusives for it
5. Fire Emblem Engage 4. Splatoon 3 3. Kirby Star Allies 2. Pokemon Unite 1. Pokemon Scarlet/Violet
Top 5 non-exclusive/former exclusives
5. LoZ: Breath of the Wild 4. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 3. Bravely Default 2 2. Mega Man Zero/ZX Collection 1. Kirby Return to Dream Land DX
Honorable mentions: Pokemon BDSP, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart 8 DX, Mario Party Superstars, Tetris (GB), Mega Man BN Collection, Metal Gear Solid, Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood, Islanders, & 51 Clubhouse games.
The Pokemon VGC has a massive cheating problem, Champions both has the opportunity to fix this as well as help Gamefresk separate he’ll the need to please both casual and hardcore fans with each game.
ZA looks really claustrophobic and if it doesn’t have online it’ll be little better than PLA

Re: Nintendo Of America President Says Tariffs "Not Factored" Into Switch 2 Price
That would imply prices can and should be lowered due to Trump lowering the tariffs on Vietnamese goods.
Re: Yes, You Can Adjust The Sensitivity Of The Switch 2's Mouse Controls
I can’t wait to turn it…oh wait I’m excited to try this feature!
Re: Civilization VII Dev Likens Game's Switch 2 Graphical Performance To "Mid-Tier PC"
That’s actually pretty good IMO.
Remember that if this and Cyberpunk can run fine on cartridge, any game in the future that doesn’t outstrip and ends up using the game key method is just lazy.

This article is out of date. Please update will the correct information.
Re: Nintendo Delays Switch 2 Pre-Orders In The US Amidst New Trump Tariffs
@mikejs78
The Vietnamese government just announced their intention to end tariffs. The price will not change.
Re: Nintendo Delays Switch 2 Pre-Orders In The US Amidst New Trump Tariffs
The price is not going to change
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour Price Has Been Confirmed
I’ve seen rumors of $10. Is it possible they raise the price overseas?

Re: Please Make Sure You're Wearing Trousers When Using Switch 2's Mouse Controls
I hate shorts, they’re not practical and aren’t protective.

This and Hitman are day 1
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?
If you’re this far down you’ve read 298 comments.
Re: Nintendo's Switch 2 'Game-Key Cards' Somehow Manage To Make Codes-In-A-Box Worse
Not ideal, but fine if it’s only reserved for major 3rd party releases and Nintendo doesn’t make this their main marhid of distribution.
Re: Which Nintendo Switch Games Aren't Fully Compatible With Switch 2?
I recommend reading through the list.
Some big names currently don’t launch, like Warframe, Rocket League, and Jackbox 1/2
Re: Nintendo Expects You To Pay For Its Switch 2 "Welcome Tour" User Guide
If is a game like 1-2-Switch it could be worth it but their presenting it as a digital instruction booklet which is odd.
Re: Rumour: New Switch 2 Rumour Makes Wild Claim About Mysterious 'C' Button
While I would be down for the ability to play Wii U and DS games with less compromise. Random street rumors are oft fake.
Re: Japanese Charts: Xenoblade Chronicles X Arrives In Style And Sends Monster Hunter Packing
@Anachronism With all the controversy it's not too surprising.
Re: Ubisoft Opens New Subsidiary Backed By Tencent For Assassin's Creed And Other IP
Holy cow Shadows must have (insert family friendly profanity) so badly if they have to sell out.
Re: Get A Closer Look At Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake In New Teaser Trailer
Is they’re any official confirmation on whether or not this entry will undo the unpopular censorship plaguing the remake of DQ3?
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Direct For March 2025?
The fact that Pokemon is finally appearing in these again after 6 years plus being able to give games to friends and family makes this another winner.
Yes I know SV had a direct trailer but nothing new was shown off

Tell the guy making the countdown banners we appreciate his work.
Re: Massive Civilization VII Update Detailed, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@nessisonett
Wait I know it said Version 1 point whatever, but the game clearly wasn’t finished.
Re: New Nintendo Patent Is All About 2D Visuals, But Don't Jump To Any Remake Conclusions
Is traditional 2D lost technology?

Re: Rumour: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Will Add Lots Of New Mega Evolutions, It's Claimed
Unfortunately after the instant ninja-performed lobotomy Pyoro no longer has relevant info. He got the last presents 100% wrong.
Re: Anniversary: No, There's Absolutely No Way In Hell Animal Crossing: New Horizons Is Five Today
Casual profanity is casual.
Re: Plants vs. Zombies Set To Be Revived And 'Reloaded' On Nintendo Switch
Hopefully it’s based on the OG version and not EA’s version
Re: AI Upscaling On Nintendo Switch 2 Is Basically Real Thanks To Updated Patent
Can’t wait to turn it off.
Re: Rumour: Latest Switch 2 Theory Suggests Release Date Might Be Right Around The Corner
Opinion dismissed.
Ah yes Nintendo’s relationship with the doom franchise, the last of which was majorly delayed for only Nintendo.
Re: Switch 2 Predicted To Cost "$400 Or More"
So basically what everyone has been saying for weeks.
It was never going to be $350 and Nintendo would be inane to charge as much as these so called luxury consoles.
Re: Poll: What Switch Game Could You Not Live Without?
Pokemon Sword is the game I have the most time in but I haven’t touched it since SV came out. Unite is ten game with the most staying power for me.
Re: Nintendo's MAR10 Day eShop Sale Welcomes A Handful Of Sweet Savings (North America)
Pretty shady if Nintendo to advertise a clean $20 off only to not do it.
Re: Nintendo Download: 6th March (North America)
Did they just casually shadow drop the original Trails game?
Also the trailer for Mainframes looked really good, hope to see a review of it.
Re: Looks Like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 On Switch Will Require A Mandatory Download
Most likely the game will contain 3 on the cartridge and 4 will be downloaded.
Hopefully after the servers go offline, the leet haxors can make an easy way to add the files to your memory card using your computer or something.
Re: Civilization VII's First Major Update Marches Onto Switch, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
This is what I’ve been waiting for. From my research the game has been unplayable unless you more willing to basically run your civ blind.
Does this update fix the pressing issues with the lack of info presented to the player?
Re: Nintendo Discounts Several Games On Switch For MAR10 Day (North America)
@Lizuka
If it’s so faithful why did the Japanese version also change its script?
Re: Nintendo Discounts Several Games On Switch For MAR10 Day (North America)
@The21zonz
Yes because it promised to have a more faithful translation to the original GC game but instead changed a bunch of stuff.
Re: Nintendo Discounts Several Games On Switch For MAR10 Day (North America)
@Tasuki
Unlike the thousand year door remake, this one was handled with respect and the story is untouched.

Re: Pokémon Champions Reveals Multiplayer Battle Mode Options
While it would make sense for this to be a summer release, the “now in development” makes me think it won’t be released until next year.
Re: Nintendo Confirms Removal Of Switch Online SNES Classic
All games will be removed eventaully.
Re: Poll: Which Starter Pokémon Will You Choose In Legends: Z-A?
Waiting until new forms are revealed.
If I had to choose I’d pick Chikorita to try and make the game harder since the first Legends game was the easiest Pokemon game.
Re: Opinion: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Looks Cool, But It's Lacking Arceus' Unique Style
So SwSh but worse > better than SV but better?
Re: Nintendo Download: 27th February (North America)
Wait you can’t just drop an Everhood sequel likes it’s a casual Thursday afternoon. The original was criminally underrated.
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Trailer Confirms Starters And Mega Evolutions, Coming Late 2025
Tempted to pick Chikorita to make it harder seeing as how PLA was too easy.

Re: Xbox Head "Excited" About Switch 2 And Multiplatform Releases
This is more Xbox than whatever MS is doing and I’m here for it.
Re: Talking Point: Can Nintendo Keep Up The One-Game-A-Month Release Pace On Switch 2?
They could go the XBox route and just keep only making Switch 1 titles.
