Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong's Upcoming Patch Will Nerf The Difficulty In Certain Areas

Ocaz

I got through this slog already. Perhaps if they patch it more it’d be worth a replay but as it is there’s more issues than just the unbalanced difficulty. There’s just far too many areas and most of the areas are pretty pointless. You can definitely tell an 8 year long dev cycle with only 3 people play testing the whole time the game comes out misguided and rough. This game was undeniably boring.

Re: First Impressions: Same But Different? - Our Initial Hours With Hollow Knight: Silksong

Having the contrast of hollow knight 1 directly behind me as I finished it the day before this came out. This game is not finished. There’s a plethora of issues that need to be worked out before this can be enjoyable. Traversal problems, combat problems and poor balancing on top of upgrades that are just pretty pointless. More like sidegrades honestly. Changing your fighting style is going to appeal to some but not all. Every new one I get I scramble to a bench to change it. Though I’m still not used to the new crappy diagonal aerial attack I’d rather have that than the other junky fighting styles they offer. One is very close to the normal pogo but the up attack on it is so bad I can’t use it.

Re: Dragon Quest Creator Chimes In On Characters Showing Less Skin In Upcoming HD-2D Remake

Torishima describes it perfectly. No one else should have to conform to others’ social ideologies especially when it comes to creating art. Doing such adds nothing but barriers and roadblocks. There’s already enough games news articles and such attempting to force a new agenda and abolish valid points of view because of offenses to the writer/creators idealism. Pushback is good being done with it is better. It truly is an evil disguised as good to put it politely as he did.

Re: Nintendo Announces Second US Store, Opening 2025

Not sure the crime will really get to this store because who would want resold stolen Nintendo junk? But I don’t see this store succeeding. Politics aside, SF is the toilet of California now. It’s quite the shame I live 80 miles from there and I would totally visit the store if it weren’t in the worst city in this state.

Re: VTuber Horror Game 'Evil God Korone' Gets A Surprise Release On Switch eShop

@Samalik thank you for the feedback and volunteered information, but im just speaking on the presentation of this game and the subject matter not the intricacies of all of that extra stuff.

@Drake the clip doesn’t help. Makes it worse in fact. It’s the exact uncanniness that make the platform that thing represents the debacle that it is. Just a poorly mocapped avatar with an odd voice trying to be quirky in an artificial way. It’s a product, hence why I used Barney the dinosaur as an example. The degree of peculiarity is congruent.

Re: VTuber Horror Game 'Evil God Korone' Gets A Surprise Release On Switch eShop

@Drake a contrasting opinion would seem that way to someone inside a fandom. That’s the way the world is currently. I gave my reasons. I find these poorly animated avatars akin to the live action fuzz suits like Barney with a different coat of paint. It’s the same level of uncanny that is more uncomfortable than enjoyable which I’m sure why a horror game is being made about this. It’s inherently creepy.

Re: Poll: So, Do You Prefer Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Or Tears Of The Kingdom?

Ocaz

Breath of the wild is the better game for sure. The stuff that was added into Totk was a mismatch. The world was designed with botw abilities in mind which alone is a huge hit to the quality of the sequel. A great example is coming across those patches of boulders and slowly and stupidly smashing my way through them with a rock attached to a conveniently placed rusty weapon in the walls every time. The areas added in totk are empty or pointless. Ur better off looking up where the armor set you want is underground than exploring it all. The only thing I like is the ganon fight.

Re: Surprise, Adding Ultrahand To Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Was A Bit Tricky

Ocaz

Ultrahand was more polarizing than widely accepted. I for one couldn’t stand it when I was 2 feet above an object and was not allowed to grab it. It came up so many times in my play through of the game because of how I liked to solve the puzzles or make things. It was a good concept but executed poorly. I’m sure someone will see that ability and make it better.

Re: TimeSplitters Dev Free Radical Has Shut Down As Staff Share "Last Day" Messages

Ocaz

The more and more I see of these beloved dev studios close the more I see that games have completely and fully tainted by corporate greed and negligence. The next video game crash is soon I’m sure. And since Nintendo is taking part in the greed of the industry they won’t come out of the ashes to save it like they did back in the 80s. They too are part of the downfall.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Like To See More Streaming Media Apps On 'Switch 2'?

Ocaz

I don’t subscribe to stuff. It’s against my morals. It usually means you are okay with sub par movies or shows being fed to you because you want to try and get your value out of the service. I already pay a subscription for my mobile phone service I’m good. It’s not like anyone I know that has these services say anything on them is a must see. Most of them don’t care to have Netflix or what not yet they say they won’t cancel it because it’s got an ingrained place in their life. I see that as a carcinogen. I’ll sail the seas for the once every 5 years show or movie these services get that stay stuck or if they manage to be freed onto another service I can buy and own I’ll take it that way. I’m sick of the age of not owning stuff. It’s my way of fighting back.
