Re: Retro-Inspired Indie Sea Of Stars Sold 100,000 Copies On Its First Day

Ocaz

@Bunkerneath I’m sorta the same way, the game has to be really special for me to dive into a turn based game. This one wasn’t it for me. A very generic homage with terrible aspects of modern game design. This game commands you to spend way too much time on sections that really should wrap up quickly.

Re: Warframe Cross-Platform Save Feature Targeting 2023 Release

Ocaz

I’ve been with the game since the closed beta over 10 years ago. They’ve always been impractical about how they handle things and this is no different. There’s a list of removed features and stupid compromises they’ve made to address issues with things like arcane helmets limited feature skins raids as a whole tower keys. Doesn’t bother me but my comment still stands as someone who truly knows the in depth stupidity this game partakes in to achieve something that appears functional. They’ve definitely been better about recent updates making this game feel better but yikes there’s still insane jank and they cause all these issues themselves. They designed everything ground up so they’re 100% at fault for all this dumb crap. Build it up break it down make it better. Shouldn’t be that hard as the literal architect.

Re: Talking Point: After Three Months, What's Your Zelda: TOTK Completion Percentage?

Ocaz

This game wasn’t even close to good enough to warrant completionism. I even went in without knowing anything. Muted everything I could and just waited for it to launch only to be pissed off at how soulless this was. Just a bunch of busywork and being frustrated at the essentials they removed. I felt the drag set in when all mechanics presented were defeated by rocks. It takes forever to get through rocks in this game. But don’t worry they know it sucks so there’s always a rusty claymore inside each rock pit so you can continue. Among other issues this game was just crap. Beat it once and put it down never touched again. Maybe someday again. It’s my favorite franchise and this entry was just garbage. And it was bumped in price. A bump in price and the majority of the work was done already. Nintendo will begin a new era of greed soon.

Re: Genshin Impact Zelda "Clone" Accusations Had Dev Team In Tears

Ocaz

Doesn’t matter if they deny it. It’s definitely true. There’s parts of us we don’t face that cause denial within ourselves making it possible to actually lie to our own minds. They saw the success and they copied it, changed a few things added overbearing disrespectful monetization and swept the template under the rug. I have zero respect for this game and its developers. Doesn’t matter if they cried, I remember being excited for this game when I saw it so long ago to be completely betrayed by my first exposure to gacha games but definitely not to overbearing microtransactions. I walked away disappointed. Plus they’re not even talented enough to get a switch port out. It’s been what 4 years?

Re: Soapbox: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC Is A Chance To Win Back Disenchanted Fans

Ocaz

That’s indeed a common perception that the game is such a dumpster that the dlc needs to win people over. Shouldn’t have gotten to this point in the first place. Then again companies these days don’t get big making good stuff. I’d be surprised if someone could be entertained throughout the entire DLC rather than how it reviews as a score.

Re: The GameCube And Wii Emulator Dolphin Is No Longer Coming To Steam

Ocaz

Hot take: good. Mainly because why does it need to be on steam? You’re still a rom hunter afterwards so is having it in steam really that much more convenient? This existed only to hurt them and I cannot believe they didn’t see that coming. They were on Nintendos hit list before but now they’re on their VIP hit list for sure.

Re: Talking Point: What Makes A Good Sidequest, Anyway?

Ocaz

Whether short or long, just having an indiscernible difference in quality to the main story makes a good side quest. Witcher 3 is a good example. All side quests are fully voice acted, some are short some are quite long but all of them were either fun funny or really intriguing.

Re: Valve Confirms It Contacted Nintendo About Dolphin Emulator Coming To Steam

Ocaz

I see no issue with emulation. I was doing it earlier. It’s not a crime or it would’ve been shut down when the first console emulator came out in the 90s. However, dolphin drawing attention to themselves by using infringed code then gallantly throwing it onto steam will draw all kinds of bad attention to emulation for the rest of the year or longer depending who or what gets involved. They’re so stupid. Now if Dolphin dies we have to use one of the awful backups or hopefully MMJ steps up. Stop drawing attention to the emulation scene. It exists we all know if you want in then come in and learn otherwise leave it off platforms outside of your own site and git deposits.

Re: Capcom Ending Resident Evil 7 Cloud Rental Service On Switch

Ocaz

All cloud stuff should be shut off and ported if we ever get a new switch model. Make a damn console that can run it not run compromises. The technology is definitely there to make a switch that is 3 times as powerful as the current one without changing anything else.

Re: Talking Point: Where Should The Next Pokémon Legends Game Take Place?

Ocaz

Pokémon Legends: Suicune.

We would be able to keep the wonderful Japanese theme in the same ish time as Arceus. Plus there would be some easy ancestral lines to create here. Notably Eugene the Suicune hunter himself. He even talks about his ancestors in heartgold so it’s just free storytelling. Plus there’s already lots of established history missed in Johto. Notably the burned tower as well as how Ho-Oh operated back in the time when the sages would perform ceremony with the rainbow wings. It keeps going on.
