In what is becoming something of a trend with digital releases on Switch, it has been confirmed that My Friend Pedro will receive a physical release for the system this fall.
The bonkers, balletic, banana-based title will be available at retail at "all major retailers", although pre-orders have already gone live at GameStop if you're interested in picking it up. It'll release on 12th November, so you've got plenty of time to put an order in if you're keen. The physical edition comes with an original 11”x17” poster, a sticker pack, and a download code for the full game's soundtrack. Pre-orders are available for $29.99.
We're not surprised that the game's being treated to a physical release; publisher Devolver Digital revealed that it was its "biggest launch to date" on Switch not too long ago, and we enjoyed our time with it for the most part when we reviewed the game earlier this year:
My Friend Pedro, for the most part, delivers on its promise to provide you with an almost endless variety of ways with which to carry out the flashy brand of OTT violence that’s had gamers eagerly awaiting its release. The controls can be cantankerous at times and the levels are far from being an eclectic mix, but it adds enough diversions to the action with light puzzling and platforming elements to keep things interesting enough to see through to the end. Also, your best friend is a banana.

I won't pick it up at full price since the digital is much cheaper and I don't care about the extras and eshop sales will make it even more cheaper. But definitely a used purchase down the road if possible for 20 or less.
Fun game for an hour. Then slowly died for me.
Wait wasn't the game T RATED before?
This has been on my wish list since it's release, however I am just never in the mood to pick it up when I decide to buy a new game. I assume some day it will fall on my lap during a deep discount, however I am in no rush for that time to come.
@BarefootBowser pretty much how I felt about it too.
Excellent game for what it is. I'm glad it's doing so well to warrant a physical release. I won't be picking it up as I have the digital release and would likely wait for it to go on sale if I want to get it physical. Just too many games on the Switch!
Wow, am I the only one who loved this game from beginning to end? I completed it in one sitting and while it won't win any GOTY awards, it was good fun for the duration.
@Mrnotultra Physical version has moar gore 😜
Ive enjoyed what i played and would recommend. There's a lot they could do with this game style if they had a more fleshed out storyline to go with it. There's basically no storyline in this game. But it's still great craic.
@JohnE I'm right there with you. I thought it was fantastic fun and didn't overstay its welcome.
I wasn't super great at doing any of the high level movement to get big scores, but I still had a complete blast with it.
Cool, my backlog wins again. Patience has been a virtue.
I loved this game. Beat it over a weekend. It's fun to slow down time and do some crazy moves in the air. Likely won't be picking up the physical version, but highly recommend this if you're looking for a fun 2D shooting game on the Switch.
@MarioFan02 Interesting. Thanks 😊
@Thesharkfromjaws Yep I think you and I had very similar experiences with this game.
