@Lilligant562 Your analogy is the flawed one. A non-chef can still have an opinion on flavor. And even judge it as bad. Non-film makers can say films are bad. Non-musicians can say a song is bad. Non-game designers can say a game is bad.
@Teksette If you only got the first Annihilation you still won't know. She was in Annihilation Conquest, the second one. Also, outside of Annihilus/Bugs, this really has nothing to do with that run at all.
@Jumwa I'm in my mid-forties and was able to pull it off. My bigger problem is that modern game designers don't know how to layout maps and their quick travel points so they're convenient for late game content. It's a chore getting back through parts of that map.
Halo is the result of collective wish-fullfillment. There wasn't anything fun to play on that new XBox so people convinced themselves Halo was a classic when it was mediocre at best. This happened a lot with Genesis-only kids too.
@metaphysician Except Phyla-vell and Beta Ray Bill were not part of Annihilation. Phyla was in the sequel. The Guardians in this comic series were completely unlike the MCU versions, which were based on the re-boot series that came afterward. They killed off Starlord and Drax in this series.
Basically, nothing about this makes sense. None of it took place on Earth and most of the roster was fighting each other on Earth during Civil War.
Gonna be honest, I actually thought the NES games that were converted to 3D on the 3DS were the best ways to play them. The simple graphics allowed a great foreground/background look that really made the old games look fresh but retain the 80's charm.
@LikelySatan "The Genre?" The one I've been playing since the 80's? They keep doing the wrong thing, their combo systems are not terribly deep, and are basically the same pattern again and again. And if they're aiming to appeal to long-time fans their chosen art design goes against everything a long time SoR, TMNT or Marvel fan would want. The level designs are at their best when they go the member-berry route and mimic a 35 year old game and they don't come up with new stuff. They're okay, they animate better and control better than the older games, but none of them are genius works by any stretch of the imagination.
I saw a pre-order for these up at one of the import sites the other week but there were no pictures and I didn't know what it was. I wonder how they'll scale with the Figma TotK Link?
"I've already seen some comparisons online to Monster Hunter in the approach that Marvelous is taking, you can see it in the combat trailers and other things that they've released so far, but in practice...wow...yeah, it really does feel quite like a big robot take on Capcom's series in its more modern form."
"sticking on Street Fighter 2 to see how many hadouken fails I get"
This is not a good test of the d-pad. Lots of d-pads will miss downward motions when rotating from forward to back and skip from down forward to down back. There are some kicking techniques with Ken in Street Fighter 6 that work much better regarding d-pad accuracy.
If Nintendo were smart they'd have a team working purely on engines so the rest of the teams can focus on completing games instead. They seem to be all in on openworld EVERYTHING so it would make sense to do this.
@Stwert They're not usually "pushing" hardware. They're lazy and they need overpowered hardware to work around their in-efficient code. Same on PC. There has been lots of analysis done the past 10-15 years on how games are not looking better, and are often times looking worse, despite huge leaps in computation power.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
To be fair, Metroid Endings change depending on speed/percentage. We'll have to find out just how interesting or not the actual end is.
Re: Review: Marvel Cosmic Invasion (Switch) - Up There With Best-Ever Arcade Marvel Games
@Teksette Galactic Storm is nothing like Annihilation.
I wouldn't say "fortunately" however, Conquest isn't nearly as good and Phyla Vell isn't interesting at all.
Re: Review: Marvel Cosmic Invasion (Switch) - Up There With Best-Ever Arcade Marvel Games
@rvcolem1 I would go as far as say that both of those games did not have combat that was up to par, either.

Lotta crying going on in these comments.

Re: Ongoing MicroSD Shortages Could Have A Knock-On Effect For Switch 2 Storage Availability
Nintendo really should have designed the Switch 2 with two card slots.
Re: Marvel Cosmic Invasion's Opening Movie Is Packed With '90s Nostalgia
Too bad the actual gameplay doesn't match the excitement here.
Re: Gallery: The 'Samus & Vi-O-La' amiibo For Metroid Prime 4 Could Be The Best Yet
I want my Silver Centaurian Figma.
Re: Xbox Reiterates Its Support For Switch 2
@Toastmaster
What did Halo innovate?
Halo is the result of collective wish-fullfillment. There wasn't anything fun to play on that new XBox so people convinced themselves Halo was a classic when it was mediocre at best. This happened a lot with Genesis-only kids too.
Re: Marvel Cosmic Invasion Scores December Release Date And Two New Fighters
@metaphysician
I stand by the roster not making sense.
Re: Xbox Reiterates Its Support For Switch 2
Halo isn't as good as everybody likes to tell themselves it is.

Re: Xenotilt, The Eye-Melting Sequel To Demon's Tilt, Is Out Now On Switch
How, being both a fan of pinball and weird ish, have I never seen anything from this series before?

Re: Marvel Cosmic Invasion Demo Datamine Leaks More Heroes
The demo is unimpressive. All of these modern beat-em-ups are getting significant overpraise IMO.

Re: Nintendo Of America President Doug Bowser Announces Retirement
@foursider What does this have to do with anything?
Re: Review: Star Trek: Resurgence (Switch) - '90s Trek Fan? This'll Transport You
I could not suffer through this rando QTE nonsense. I don't care how good the story might be.
Re: The Best Nintendo Switch 2 Games
@SirLink "Nintendo Gamers" you say? Anyone who started with the NES is perfectly fine with unforgiving.
Re: Video: EA Sports FC 26 Disappoints At 30fps On Switch 2
It looks like a 10 year old game.
Re: Review: Hollow Knight: Silksong - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - Woven To Brutal Perfection
I was so unimpressed with the beginning of the game I deleted it.
Re: The Best Nintendo Switch 2 Games
I don't understand why the Hollow Knight games are rated how they are.
Re: Review: Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion (Switch 2) - Decently Deep Mech Combat, But Clunky In Parts
I wanted to support this because it's on cart but I just did not like the controls in the demo.
Re: 007 First Light Is More That Just Spies And Style, Launches March 2026 On Switch 2
@Axecon I don't like game-key cards but let's not pretend Nintendo is the main culporate here. Sony and MS started this crap.
Re: 007 First Light Is More That Just Spies And Style, Launches March 2026 On Switch 2
Such a strange console, plenty of things to play but nothing to actually buy.
Re: Bloober Team Wants To "Open A New Chapter" For Horror Games On Nintendo Consoles
Put it on the cartridge and I'll play it...
Re: CD Projekt Reveals 75% Of Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 Sales Were Physical In Opening Month
@Aurumonado
And I rewarded all three companies for doing it.
Re: He-Man Is The Next '80s Icon Getting His Own Stunning Arcade-Style Retro Revival
If only the upcoming Marvel game tried to retain the comic look as thoroughly as He-Man is here. Bigger sprites like here too.

This killed all interest.
Re: Review: Gradius Origins (Switch) - An Almost-Perfect Package For Shoot 'Em Up Fans
I find Salamander 3's level design highly lack-luster.

Re: Forget Silksong, This New Terminator 2D Overview Trailer Looks Stupidly Good
Metal Slug: Contra.
Re: Opinion: We Really Don't Need A Donkey Kong Timeline
I am absolutely sick of every person who requires a timeline for all of their games.
Metroid might be the only one to sort of have a timeline... but the rest of the games are just an new avenue to have fun.
Re: Opinion: Donkey Kong Bananza's Delightful World Map Is Another Nintendo Banger
@Rooty That was my major complaint with Dread is the completely nonsense spread with no thought to quick travel later.
Re: Opinion: Donkey Kong Bananza's Delightful World Map Is Another Nintendo Banger
The game is fun but the map is clunky and difficult to use.
Re: Square Enix Wants Feedback About Its New HD-2D Game Coming To Switch 2
@Whirlwound NFTs?
I mean, in the free answer for the developers at the end I told them I'll never buy a Game Key Card and won't buy this game.
Re: Whoops, It Looks Like Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection's Release Date Has Leaked Early
It's a game all about nostalgia. September 29th would be smart marketing for another "Mortal Monday."
Re: NIS America: Trails Beyond The Horizon Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release Is "Most Beneficial Option" For Fans
Least beneficial to the developer...

Test it with a fighting game or don't bother.

Forcing the game key card. You made up my mind then... not buying it.
Re: Feature: 33 Games With 'Secret' Performance Bumps You Should Revisit On Switch 2
R-Type Final 2 is no longer a 30FPS sluggish mess.
Re: Mini Review: Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - Now Near-Perfect On The New Console
I'm not interested in this game at all but I bought the S2 version simply because they put the game on the cartridge.
Re: Review: Chronicles Of The Wolf (Switch) - A Spot-On Castlevania Tribute That May Test Your Patience
I would have given it a 4.

I bought a screen protector off of Amazon a week before the release.
