Not offended by it, just not originally a video game character. Simon Belmont would be a much better idea though.

To be honest I never noticed. The only thing that bothers me is a hardware issue because the shoulder buttons aren't analog so the pinball feels wrong but that isn't Zen's fault.

Dialed back exploration elements is a real disappointment. The other games, save for some later stage bosses, were too easy and the exploration kept it interesting.

Also, only 30fps? The demo felt sluggish and awful. I was hoping the full release would have a bump.

Not buying.

I remember being continuously mocked for this sentiment a year ago...

Short answer, no. Long, I don't have time to list but a few I can think of: Too much grinding, for everything. No real sense of direction. Too many repeat events. How many times do I have to keep racing those stupid Koopas? Most worlds weren't constructed to take advantage of Mario's vertical abilities and were largely flat except for bonus levels through various doors and they weren't very long or very interesting. Final few "Challenge" levels were just reuses of previous levels designed to be done with cappy but without him, and not that fun. At least the brutal challenge levels in Sunshine when you were stripped of F.L.O.O.D. were wholly new and designed to test your platforming mettle.

I somehow never saw this on the WiiU. I'm game for a Switch version.

Especially surprising given what a garbage port it was.

@KeeperBvK Yes, it plays better in every way. the only people who love Streets of Rage 2 were kids who only owned a Genesis and had to convince themselves it was better. It was not, it doesn't have as good play control even if the mechanics are more complex and the settings/characters are boring.

This game is as close as it gets to remaking the original Legend of Zelda and that game was capable of handling dungeons as well. If not the base game this last DLC release was a prine time to include some dungeons and they didn't do it.

@OorWullie Actually these were not the best in their genre. Turtles In Time and the Aliens vs Predator Arcade games had far more broad play mechanics. There was even some street fighter style fighting mechanics in AvP.

I don't understand what the "does not look good" crowd is looking at.

The game should come with a "tour mode" where you can just run around the levels sans enemies like this to look at the art direction in the backgrounds.

Indian Diablo sounds like fun to me.

While the graphics are great the gameplay is tedious at best.

@Ryu_Niiyama We can't even get X-Men in our Lego (or MvC) games now. I highly doubt we'll ever see a standalone title for them any time soon.

I didn't know anything about this connection to Matthew Sweet. All I know is he did the vocals to my favorite Delerium song, Daylight.

@FX102A I have this same feeling, the chunky cartoon look and animation style always rubs me wrong. But shmup!

@tourjeff Which was a TERRIBLE port. Absolutely horrible looking. My one purchase so far I wish i could take back if it weren't for the fact I bought it digitally.

The music in the trailer blows the ambiance.

Proper 2D Mario, please! Super Mario World is still my all-time favorite of all the Mario games ever.

@Captain_Gonru I'm not sure it sold out by Friday night. None of the workers in any of the stores between Target, Walmart or Toys R Us had any knowledge of the game coming to Switch nor could they bring it up in the computers for anything but 3DS.

Has anyone in the US been able to find a physical copy of this game? No I place in New Mexico has it for the Switch at all.

@MarcelRguez How is it self-own? They're all called Nazis, even McCain ten years ago was called a Nazi. They had Adolf Hitler wearing a McCain campaign pin on Family Guy way back in 2007. They're always called Nazis. Then the Trump slogan is used in reverse and they aren't supposed to think that isn't a slight from an industry that is very left leaning? I fail to see how that's self-owning in any way. You clearly don't like Trump, I think you're letting that view cloud your view of the situation. If there was some Chinese infiltrstion game with a slogan like makemaofeeltheburn I'm quite sure you'd see the anti-Bernie parallel.

@bluesdance The review is accurate. It's fun enough but nothing to write home about, a 7 is precisely where I would put it. And whoever says it's full of bugs should probably either redownload the game or contact Nintendo about a problem with their system because it runs fine.

@crackafreeze I can echo that. Earth Atlantis is a massive letdown.

@samuelvictor It won't really be the same, these are designed to play like a real pinball table. Zen regularly does things that can't actually work in reality, they're literally fantasy tables. Plus their physics are floaty and never feels like a real game of pinball. Hopefully this game will do a better job, like the old Pinball Hall of Fame games did, handling the physics of what a real table feels like.

@Damo The floor rotating routine is amusing but it doesn't beat the unhinged screaming of N64 kid.

Has anybody upgraded their cards yet? Is there some special process for moving stuff or do you just have to download everything again?

This is like every Bandai Macross DX pre-order I've ever had to deal with.

Looks like a fun game but will they patch up the graphics? It's a little long in the tooth now.

Watching the water in that new Mario level makes me want a new Waverace. These new videos give me a Mario 64 vibe, it would be mice to pair that with Waverace again.
