@Zuljaras does make me curious if its specifically for those versions and if in theory M2 could do their own ports.
i imagine it would mean SOTN with the original VA (though some would consider that a plus considering its memetic status) and rondo with JP VA like on the virtual console version on wii (though hopefully with text translation)
@FunGuy TBH i wouldnt say no personally to those N64 ones in a collection since for me they did have their own charm under the jank (and i never got to play legacy) , but yeah im hoping that somehow they are able to bring SOTN and rondo to all platforms. would be cool if the next collection would be those alongside the N64 games with adventure rebirth as the "bonus" game.
either way the M2 collections we got have been amazing and im looking forward to seeing what they do next.
i mean for me the most "exciting" thing would be the ability to actually buy and keep the legacy games they offer though i can say with as close to 100% certainty its not going to be that.
@Fulgor_Astral yeah this was something i was hoping for though as @N00BiSH and @Croctopus mentioned the music in the trailer does sound different from her usual style.
Am hoping it ends up running well but otherwise glad to see the series living on.
@GrailUK as much as i would love to see the return of the glory that was miiverse (or even some basic sharing stuff like messaging friends or sending screenshots/videos to them) it seems like this is something related to the subscription service and i wouldn't imagine that kind of stuff would need a paid subscription.
someone mentioned that a wired connection and tv mode is recommended so it may be something related to streaming or online play,
really im hoping its something multiplayer related, something to really take advantage of online.
@nessisonett yeah for me the "wow factor" of a generational leap in hardware for me has been more in the handheld scene over the past decade or so.
was one of the dozens of people who had a vita and playing that for the first time i found more impressive than going from ps3-ps4 then going from that to playing botw on switch was really cool at the time.
as you mentioned having a dedicated handheld playing modern games with a decent performance would be awesome, really the only thing im apprehensive about would be if there was some addition, feature of caveat which i found really unappealing (or some BS like what xbox tried to pull of initially with xbox one before the backlash)
heck while the ps5pro doesn't interest me in the slightest i would be all over a new portable playstation (hopefully learning from the vitas mistakes)
apologies for the ramble but in short yeah, for me a dedicated handheld with the option to play on TV is pretty much the ideal gaming system.
@-wc- its one of the reasons why im curious if the "60fps" thing they mentioned is related to the character animations specifically, like as in they tried to make the animations themselves super smooth through adding additional animation frames or tweening or various other methods rather than referring to the gameplay itself (such as the Cuphead example i mentioned in another post)
theres a few other games i remember using similar things, being animated at a lower framerate despite running at 60fps but am not good at remembering atm
@Anti-Matter does make me curious if they are referring specifically to the character animation.
iirc cuphead has things animated at 24fps to mimic the look of traditional animation but the game itself is running at 60fps to keep the gameplay smooth.
@PikaPhantom ah that is a concern i would have hoped to have seen some actual footage of this version considering its still a version being sold.
would be cool if the switch version of generations could hit 60fps since its great when you gotta go fast though would be more than fine with a stable 30 for the shadow portion.
i remember forces and the cyberspace segments of frontiers being okay on switch (colours is another story though iirc that was developed by a separate team) so im hoping it turns out fine on switch.
@JohnnyMind yeah i enjoy the visual style, it does kind of remind me a bit more of that star ocean 2 remake than something like octopath or the live-a-live remake which im cool with, hopefully it runs as smoothly as that star ocean remake did.
either way 3 was one of my faves and i loved the feeling of "adventure" it had, the game becomes extremely open as it goes on.
@johnedwin They mentioned something about new monsters/bosses, im unsure if its related to the stuff regarding the heroes father or if they added bosses to older dungeons which didn't have them.
@ScalenePowers yeah that's one of the reasons why I'm hoping that the ability to choose between visual and performance modes becomes more common with "switch 2"
@axelhander regarding that second part it feels similar to what users like @RupeeClock and @Bratwurst35 were discussing where it does seem like certain people see and notice certain things more in the same way certain people notice certain sounds or sensations more than others,
for me i started to notice things more when games became HD , when you have all this detail zipping past i tend to find it harder to get a sense of where i am in the games space when the framerate is choppy or unstable, not sure if its because im on the spectrum and have a certain hypersensitive towards specific things but it can feel disorienting at times depending on the game and it feels less noticeable to me on older games.
@TotalHenshin yeah if it is related to the next switch it could very well end up being a peripheral
at this point im hoping that whatever the "switch 2"s new "gimmick" ends up being, is that it doesn't end up taking away from the ability to play the system however you want like with the original switch, if anything i hope it leans even more into player choice while still keeping itself simple.
i feel like users such as @RygelXVIII @JohnnyMind @Agamembar have put things better than i could, for me the concern of this case has nothing to do with palworld or its devs but rather the effects of game mechanic patents on the industry as a whole.
@JohnnyMind one thing which would be cool with a remaster is if they could end up making them widescreen like the origins collection games (though hopefully without the launch bugs) since sonic is one of the franchises which i feel benefits from widescreen the most and having a wider screen space in the advance series feels like it could help with some of the advance trilogies more infamous aspects (obstacles tend to come out of nowhere in some of them)
either way im always up for some retro collections.
@mlt yeah im curious regarding how "switch 2" will handle things in that regard.
i imagine that games with frame drops will hit their target rate more through virtue of the more powerful hardware but a game targeting 30 wouldn't hit 60 without needing a patch, iirc similar to how some 360 games got performance patches when running on xbox one onwards.
with "switch 2" im hoping that visual/performance toggles become more common but when it comes to the original switch with newer games i just hope they are a stable framerate, if it can manage 60 then that's a nice bonus. (unless its a remaster of a game which was originally 60 in which i would hope the remaster can match the original)
@Vil ditto, im also fine with my launch model for a good while though tbh if sony released another portable i would be down for it. (enjoyed the vita overall despite issues like the memory cards)
@JohnnyMind yeah its one of those games where despite having some clear influences it definitely brings its own flavour to the table and im hoping team asobi get the chance to work on more games in the future astrobot or otherwise.
overall it seems much more than a case of "we have mario at home" and is a win in general for platform fans seeing another one have mainstream success.
Posters like @Stegiand @Axecon @Ralizah have already covered a lot of how i feel.
Its a great platformer which builds upon generations of platformer evolution while bringing some of its own ideas to the table, also makes me exited to see what Mario does next.
@GrailUK
i feel like the easy allies review summed things up well.
"There’s no denying that Astro Bot owes a lot to its predecessors, but it still manages to find ways to innovate and make its own mark"
from what ive gathered it seems like a similar situation to what botw and tears of the kingdom were to open world games, they incorporated many of the traits of the genre over the years but crafted out their own identity.
if anything it has me exited for what the big cheese himself will bring to his next game, its been fairly quiet on the 3d mario front since the last major one and it definitely feels like the switch 2 could bring something big along with it.
@Poodlestargenerica ah i hadnt heard of polyroll, looks neat.
@Nintendo_Thumb i imagine if it did have motion controls they would be optional at least.
@NatiaAdamo Curious if the developer made any other similar posts since the 2018 ones since while being in at least 2 of the groups affected by the comments and while i cannot speak for others i could accept those posts as bad attempts at being "edgy" if the dev ended up moving forward (as opposed to when you have those who give a big apology and then go back to doing it again within a few weeks)
@GrailUK with sony lately it seems like their big popular game is astro bot which feels less like Nintendo and closer to the ps1/ps2/ps3 vibe they had back when we got stuff like ape escape, parrapa the rapper or jumping flash. to me it felt like for a while sony had its own distinct feel, though it makes sense due to astro bot being made by team asobi who iirc are the last remnants of japan studio who was behind quite a few of those games during that era, and while im not holding my breath for a new ape escape or gravity rush i do hope they get to work on more games if astro bot does well.
honestly i wouldnt mind seeing them have another shot at the handheld market avoiding some of the issues the vita had such as lack of support outside japan and not supporting SD cards. especially since something like the psp-go felt like the precursor to nowadays "hybrid" consoles.
With Sega its definitely nice to see them using more of their IPs outside of sonic and Yakuza/like a dragon, though i would love to see the amazing SEGA AGES line return maybe even going into the dreamcast era (or just a remaster of skies of arcadia)
Definitely am not into live service stuff and it definitely felt like the market was getting saturated with failed live service games, though tbh i dont really bother much with service stuff outside of FFXIV (its one of the reasons i wish that NSO had an alternative when it came to legacy content)
Now just hopefully the industry can sort out its issues when it comes to things like layoffs.
@MSaturn it feels like with dragon quest we often get announcements, then long periods of no info then suddenly the floodgates open.
Makes me wonder if it ends up being one of the first games announced for "switch 2" similar to how DQXI was announced for switch iirc before we even knew the switch's name.
@Poodlestargenerica so like a freedom planet to sonic situation where it wears its inspiration on its sleeve but goes in enough of its own direction that its able to stand on its own right?
@JohnnyMind yeah this is definitely one i would hope for switch 2 if its going to be running natively.
not just because it would be a better experience but because whichever platform is the weakest is essentially the "bottleneck" for new content (which is currently ps4/xbox one iirc)
@Ryoth yeah looking at the general reception it seems like its mainly the story content in dawntrail which seems to have the most mixed reception (IMO i enjoyed it overall especially towards the latter half but can see where people are coming from) however the battle content (dungeons, trials, raids etc) has been really well received overall and im hoping that the upcoming FFXI themed aliance raid also turns out well.
@JohnnyMind yeah its also been shown that fan creations can be a good jumping off point towards either your own creations or even official work, common examples include the likes of Toby Fox and Christian whitehead also the creators of freedom planet starting in the sonic fangame scene and as @Sonicka mentioned Tyson Hesse, the mind which brought us "Nipples the Enchilada", also was responsible for things like the animated intro for sonic mania and even had a hand in the redesign of movie sonic.
@LavaTwilight
3 was released in English just only in the US so no EU/UK etc release.
then again quite a few games which missed out on European releases did eventually get released there via remasters or re-releases so theres still hope of europe getting suikoden III via a remaster and/or collection.
@nessisonett would have been cool if it was a trials of mana style situation with the original making its way to switch since i love the 2d art style and being 60fps is always a nice bonus however still unsure what kind of licencing heck those games are in due to the difference in publisher or whatnot.
i do like the more colourful art style compared to the cold steel and daybreak games, and hopefully this runs well on switch.
@JohnnyMind i think one of the rumours was that the reason why its around next year or so was because it was delayed to make sure there arent issues like stock and the library is ready and while yeah rumours are a dime a dozen it would make sense in this case.
That said while games like new world and whatnot dont really appeal to me it is nice to see more news of devs wanting in on the ground floor this time compared to the original switch where it felt like some devs were apprehensive at first due to the wiiu situation. shows confidence in the system at least.
@JohnnyMind oh yeah its something i wouldn't mind trying, i mean i have an obscene amount of hours put into FFXIV despite not usually playing MMOs (my aversion to NSO is more a long story involving autism and "comfort games")
also yeah those games you mentioned are also ones i would love to see come to "switch 2" (along with some older RPGs like star ocean:the divine force and tales of arise)
in regards to the FFVII remake/rebirth im curious to see if square enix can work some DQXI:S style magic with those and get them on switch 2, would definitely double-dip.
@JohnnyMind I think thats a similar case for me with genshin, the action combat and world exploration/locations/etc does appeal to me but im not really a fan of live-service/online stuff or gacha/free to play elements.
am still hoping this makes it to the "switch 2" for those interested but for me im more looking forward to see if we get something like visions of mana or even the FFVII remake series.
Mentioned it in another comments segment but really do hope that we see some switch footage since iirc we havent seen anything of that version yet.
again i get that companies want to show off a game at its best but the switch version is still a version that is being sold and i do wish that it would be shown off among the others.
@__jamiie honestly i would be happy just being able to buy/keep NSO games but collections based on nintendos IPs would be awesome if they were well emulated and didnt have any caveats like the limited digital nonsense 3d all-stars had.
would be cool if they included different versions of each game like some other collections do, for example a 2d mario collection which also included the GBA and all-stars versions since i always find that interesting.
@TCKuma this is reassuring, it does feel like falcom ports have been improving on switch recently such as tokyo Xanadu generally running at 60fps and i hear Trails from Daybreak is an improvement over cold steel 3/4 and reverie. i think it was from when they started developing in-house but could very well be wrong.
curious to see if they go all in with the "switch 2" or whether games like cold steel 3, 4 and reverie get native switch 2 ports (i would imagine even if the system was backwards compatible it wouldn't mean they are off the table since those games made it to ps5 alongside games like Ys VIII despite ps5 being backwards compatible with ps4 games)
@Sonicka with the mainline ones i would love to see them as purchasable games with things like support for bank and other such things added.
While ive generally vocally not been a fan of service-only games (though is preferable at least to cloud since the games are native) i feel like with mainline pokemon i would feel extra strongly about it considering how easy it is to become very attached to your save file.
happy that these are individual ones and not a big survey where you need to answer everything or it doesnt count, that way i can skip the ones i dont remember like the amount of games and also answer the hard hitting stuff like playing switch on the toilet or fine dining with switch carts.
honestly its a bit of both, its why im hoping the "switch 2" is fully backwards compatible and easy to transfer all your stuff to with as little hassle as possible.
does make me curious if games will get patched similar to the backwards compatible games on xbox one etc.
@Axecon Does make me curious if there will be many "cross gen" releases though i also imagine the hardware could open the gates for games which missed the original switch.
im definitely hoping the next system is still a hybrid (though iirc didnt they outright call it "next model switch" or something to that effect) since the nature of the system is already something which neither xbox or PlayStation offer while at the same time feeling much more versatile than the wii or wiiu which were designed to be played in a very specific way compared to the larger degree of freedom the switch offers by comparison.
@Sonicka yeah hoping the porting process will be much better considering it wont be a port of a port of a port of a remaster of a port like symphonia was.
unfortunate it doesn't look like Xillia 2 will be included though maybe it will also get the remaster treatment.
hoping down the line abyss is considered since that was one of my faves and the console version never made it to europe.
though back to the subject of Xillia i will 100% be picking this up if the switch port is good.
@RiasGremory @Vyacheslav333
im hoping that like with vesperia it being a port of a ps3 game would help wheres with symphonia iirc it was a port of the PC version which was an already shaky port of the ps3 remaster of the ps2 version of a gamecube game with said ps2 version already having its own share of issues such as battles running at half the framerate of the GC one which was 60fps in battle.
i am hoping that with the switch version they lock it to 30 outside of battle in Xillia since with vesperia iirc it was unlocked which made it hover somewhere between 30 and 60 outside of combat causing some stutter. (combat was still a very stable 60 at least)
hopefully if it does end up happening it will be a good switch port since i remember really enjoying Xillia.
@GrailUK does make me curious and exited to see how things go with the "switch 2" since it feels like there could potentially be a lot more Japanese developers on board from the get go who were maybe a bit more hesitant with the original.
i wouldn't be surprised to see some good square enix and falcom support from day 1 and maybe even some more sega and/or atlus support. (such as the Yakuza/like a dragon franchise or re fantazio) .
@BANJO yeah it feels like this is the kind of game which could really be impacted by technical issues seeing as though from what ive seen of it you are doing a lot of loops and rolls while aiming at moving targets which can be quite far away, so its nice they went all out with the port.
@Sonicka yeah that feels like the go-to comparison for good reason.
Am not sure if there's been much if any footage of the switch version yet since that is the way i would prefer to play it so long as there aren't any noticeable issues, moreso the shadow segment since that seems to have a lot more visual spectacle than the base game from the footage of it that ive seen.
@JohnnyMind those kingdom hearts games in particular are what im hoping to see get native versions on "switch 2" plus it feels like it would make kingdom hearts 3 viable especially if the system is closer to ps4 pro (iirc it ran 60fps on pro)
@JohnnyMind yeah the games being native is definitely one thing i preffer over something like cloud gaming since it does mean that there are some safety nets, even if it comes down to modding.
would have been cool if it was a capcom arcade stadium type deal where iirc the games are sold as bundles (only with the added NSO giving access to all of them)
@GrailUK Honestly i would just prefer it if they made NSO games purchasable so people could actually keep them (similar to the psone games on PS+)
i know for sure theres a lot of games i would buy the heck out of on switch if i could.
@Sonicka yeah i always vastly prefer to play the official way, its why i was such a fan of the idea of things like the virtual console and remasters like those sega AGES games since it provides an easy way to buy and play retro games on a system with no modding needed, its why i wish the NSO games were purchasable outside of NSO since them being tied to a service means that officially playing the games requires online checks.
(on the subject of SEGA AGES i would love to see them return especially if saturn and dreamcast games became viable)
@JohnnyMind
im curious to see if the ones on switch end up with switch 2 ports
initially i thought no since the system will likely(hopefully) be backwards compatible but iirc cold steel 3 and 4 got native ports on ps5 years later despite ps4 games working on ps5, ys VIII also (iirc in the west reverie onwards got ps5 versions at launch)
am hoping that falcom will be on board from the get go with "switch 2" after embracing the switch. also from what i gather the games published by Xseed would still be viable for western releases if falcom ported them since they are publishing the oath in felghana port which was announced for the west not too long ago.

maybe even a sequel to X after since the game had a LOT of unresolved plot elements.

apologies if the comment is overly long.
Re: More Developers Announce Their Tokyo Game Show 2024 Lineups
@MSaturn
it feels like with dragon quest we often get announcements, then long periods of no info then suddenly the floodgates open.
Makes me wonder if it ends up being one of the first games announced for "switch 2" similar to how DQXI was announced for switch iirc before we even knew the switch's name.
Re: Review: Pizza Tower (Switch) - An Ingenious Platformer That Beats Wario At His Own Game
@Poodlestargenerica
so like a freedom planet to sonic situation where it wears its inspiration on its sleeve but goes in enough of its own direction that its able to stand on its own right?
Re: Final Fantasy XIV Online Director Reiterates Interest In A Nintendo Release
@JohnnyMind
yeah this is definitely one i would hope for switch 2 if its going to be running natively.
not just because it would be a better experience but because whichever platform is the weakest is essentially the "bottleneck" for new content (which is currently ps4/xbox one iirc)
@Ryoth
yeah looking at the general reception it seems like its mainly the story content in dawntrail which seems to have the most mixed reception (IMO i enjoyed it overall especially towards the latter half but can see where people are coming from) however the battle content (dungeons, trials, raids etc) has been really well received overall and im hoping that the upcoming FFXI themed aliance raid also turns out well.
Re: Sega's Sonic Team On Memes: "We Like That People Are Having Fun"
@JohnnyMind
yeah its also been shown that fan creations can be a good jumping off point towards either your own creations or even official work, common examples include the likes of Toby Fox and Christian whitehead also the creators of freedom planet starting in the sonic fangame scene and as @Sonicka mentioned Tyson Hesse, the mind which brought us "Nipples the Enchilada", also was responsible for things like the animated intro for sonic mania and even had a hand in the redesign of movie sonic.
Re: Suikoden I & II HD Remaster Brings Konami's JRPG Classics To Switch Next Year
@LavaTwilight
3 was released in English just only in the US so no EU/UK etc release.
then again quite a few games which missed out on European releases did eventually get released there via remasters or re-releases so theres still hope of europe getting suikoden III via a remaster and/or collection.
Re: The Legend Of Heroes: Trails In The Sky Remake Is Real, And It Looks Amazing
@nessisonett
would have been cool if it was a trials of mana style situation with the original making its way to switch since i love the 2d art style and being 60fps is always a nice bonus however still unsure what kind of licencing heck those games are in due to the difference in publisher or whatnot.
i do like the more colourful art style compared to the cold steel and daybreak games, and hopefully this runs well on switch.
Re: Amazon Says It Plans To Develop Games For The Switch Successor
@JohnnyMind
i think one of the rumours was that the reason why its around next year or so was because it was delayed to make sure there arent issues like stock and the library is ready and while yeah rumours are a dime a dozen it would make sense in this case.
That said while games like new world and whatnot dont really appeal to me it is nice to see more news of devs wanting in on the ground floor this time compared to the original switch where it felt like some devs were apprehensive at first due to the wiiu situation. shows confidence in the system at least.
Re: Genshin Impact Announced For Another Platform, Switch Release Left In Limbo
@JohnnyMind
oh yeah its something i wouldn't mind trying, i mean i have an obscene amount of hours put into FFXIV despite not usually playing MMOs (my aversion to NSO is more a long story involving autism and "comfort games")
also yeah those games you mentioned are also ones i would love to see come to "switch 2" (along with some older RPGs like star ocean:the divine force and tales of arise)
in regards to the FFVII remake/rebirth im curious to see if square enix can work some DQXI:S style magic with those and get them on switch 2, would definitely double-dip.
Re: Genshin Impact Announced For Another Platform, Switch Release Left In Limbo
@JohnnyMind
I think thats a similar case for me with genshin, the action combat and world exploration/locations/etc does appeal to me but im not really a fan of live-service/online stuff or gacha/free to play elements.
am still hoping this makes it to the "switch 2" for those interested but for me im more looking forward to see if we get something like visions of mana or even the FFVII remake series.
Re: New Sonic X Shadow Generations Trailer Showcases Shadow's Doom Powers
Mentioned it in another comments segment but really do hope that we see some switch footage since iirc we havent seen anything of that version yet.
again i get that companies want to show off a game at its best but the switch version is still a version that is being sold and i do wish that it would be shown off among the others.
Re: Retro Re-Release Studio Digital Eclipse Says It's Up For A Collab With Nintendo
@__jamiie
honestly i would be happy just being able to buy/keep NSO games but collections based on nintendos IPs would be awesome if they were well emulated and didnt have any caveats like the limited digital nonsense 3d all-stars had.
would be cool if they included different versions of each game like some other collections do, for example a 2d mario collection which also included the GBA and all-stars versions since i always find that interesting.
Re: Preview: In Ys X: Nordics, Adol And Boats Prove To Be A Match Made In Heaven
@TCKuma
this is reassuring, it does feel like falcom ports have been improving on switch recently such as tokyo Xanadu generally running at 60fps and i hear Trails from Daybreak is an improvement over cold steel 3/4 and reverie. i think it was from when they started developing in-house but could very well be wrong.
curious to see if they go all in with the "switch 2" or whether games like cold steel 3, 4 and reverie get native switch 2 ports (i would imagine even if the system was backwards compatible it wouldn't mean they are off the table since those games made it to ps5 alongside games like Ys VIII despite ps5 being backwards compatible with ps4 games)
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's GBA Library With Pokémon
@Sonicka
with the mainline ones i would love to see them as purchasable games with things like support for bank and other such things added.
While ive generally vocally not been a fan of service-only games (though is preferable at least to cloud since the games are native) i feel like with mainline pokemon i would feel extra strongly about it considering how easy it is to become very attached to your save file.
Re: Nintendo Life's Switch Summer Survey 2024
happy that these are individual ones and not a big survey where you need to answer everything or it doesnt count, that way i can skip the ones i dont remember like the amount of games and also answer the hard hitting stuff like playing switch on the toilet or fine dining with switch carts.
Re: Poll: Are You Ready To Move On From The Switch?
honestly its a bit of both, its why im hoping the "switch 2" is fully backwards compatible and easy to transfer all your stuff to with as little hassle as possible.
does make me curious if games will get patched similar to the backwards compatible games on xbox one etc.
@Axecon
Does make me curious if there will be many "cross gen" releases though i also imagine the hardware could open the gates for games which missed the original switch.
im definitely hoping the next system is still a hybrid (though iirc didnt they outright call it "next model switch" or something to that effect) since the nature of the system is already something which neither xbox or PlayStation offer while at the same time feeling much more versatile than the wii or wiiu which were designed to be played in a very specific way compared to the larger degree of freedom the switch offers by comparison.
Re: Rumour: 'Tales Of Xillia Remastered' Switch Release Spotted Online
@Sonicka
yeah hoping the porting process will be much better considering it wont be a port of a port of a port of a remaster of a port like symphonia was.
unfortunate it doesn't look like Xillia 2 will be included though maybe it will also get the remaster treatment.
hoping down the line abyss is considered since that was one of my faves and the console version never made it to europe.
though back to the subject of Xillia i will 100% be picking this up if the switch port is good.
Re: Rumour: 'Tales Of Xillia Remastered' Switch Release Spotted Online
@RiasGremory @Vyacheslav333
im hoping that like with vesperia it being a port of a ps3 game would help wheres with symphonia iirc it was a port of the PC version which was an already shaky port of the ps3 remaster of the ps2 version of a gamecube game with said ps2 version already having its own share of issues such as battles running at half the framerate of the GC one which was 60fps in battle.
i am hoping that with the switch version they lock it to 30 outside of battle in Xillia since with vesperia iirc it was unlocked which made it hover somewhere between 30 and 60 outside of combat causing some stutter. (combat was still a very stable 60 at least)
hopefully if it does end up happening it will be a good switch port since i remember really enjoying Xillia.
Re: Japanese Charts: Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Gets Off To A Flying Start
@GrailUK
does make me curious and exited to see how things go with the "switch 2" since it feels like there could potentially be a lot more Japanese developers on board from the get go who were maybe a bit more hesitant with the original.
i wouldn't be surprised to see some good square enix and falcom support from day 1 and maybe even some more sega and/or atlus support. (such as the Yakuza/like a dragon franchise or re fantazio) .
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Gives Its Tech Verdict On Ace Combat 7 For Switch
@BANJO
yeah it feels like this is the kind of game which could really be impacted by technical issues seeing as though from what ive seen of it you are doing a lot of loops and rolls while aiming at moving targets which can be quite far away, so its nice they went all out with the port.
Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations Showcases Side-By-Side Of Old & New Stages
@Sonicka
yeah that feels like the go-to comparison for good reason.
Am not sure if there's been much if any footage of the switch version yet since that is the way i would prefer to play it so long as there aren't any noticeable issues, moreso the shadow segment since that seems to have a lot more visual spectacle than the base game from the footage of it that ive seen.
Re: Nintendo Emulator 'Delta' Adds iPad Support With Version 1.6 Update
@JohnnyMind
those kingdom hearts games in particular are what im hoping to see get native versions on "switch 2" plus it feels like it would make kingdom hearts 3 viable especially if the system is closer to ps4 pro (iirc it ran 60fps on pro)
Re: Nintendo Emulator 'Delta' Adds iPad Support With Version 1.6 Update
@JohnnyMind
yeah the games being native is definitely one thing i preffer over something like cloud gaming since it does mean that there are some safety nets, even if it comes down to modding.
would have been cool if it was a capcom arcade stadium type deal where iirc the games are sold as bundles (only with the added NSO giving access to all of them)
Re: Spark The Electric Jester 3 Is A High-Speed Indie Platformer Dashing To Switch This Month
Hoping this plays well on switch since ive heard good things about it, also iirc doesnt it have content from the second game also?
Re: Nintendo Emulator 'Delta' Adds iPad Support With Version 1.6 Update
@GrailUK
Honestly i would just prefer it if they made NSO games purchasable so people could actually keep them (similar to the psone games on PS+)
i know for sure theres a lot of games i would buy the heck out of on switch if i could.
@Sonicka
yeah i always vastly prefer to play the official way, its why i was such a fan of the idea of things like the virtual console and remasters like those sega AGES games since it provides an easy way to buy and play retro games on a system with no modding needed, its why i wish the NSO games were purchasable outside of NSO since them being tied to a service means that officially playing the games requires online checks.
(on the subject of SEGA AGES i would love to see them return especially if saturn and dreamcast games became viable)
Re: Trails Series Main Story "About 80-90%" Complete, According To Nihon Falcom
@JohnnyMind
im curious to see if the ones on switch end up with switch 2 ports
initially i thought no since the system will likely(hopefully) be backwards compatible but iirc cold steel 3 and 4 got native ports on ps5 years later despite ps4 games working on ps5, ys VIII also (iirc in the west reverie onwards got ps5 versions at launch)
am hoping that falcom will be on board from the get go with "switch 2" after embracing the switch. also from what i gather the games published by Xseed would still be viable for western releases if falcom ported them since they are publishing the oath in felghana port which was announced for the west not too long ago.
Re: Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake Looks Stunning In New Gameplay Footage
Does look beautiful though from looking at it the footage ive seen seems to be from the PS5 or PC release.
Am hoping that the game holds up well on switch since that is my preferred way to play.
