@jesse_dylan wasnt the issue that these were specifically cancelled on switch, same with how some of the costume DLC to an upcoming one was cancelled specifically for the switch release but not the playstation version.
@mohok I think some of the impressions were also from early japanese versions of the game (pre-patch) though i would assume that a theoretical western release would have said patches already included.
@Arawn93 Thats what is confusing me, and while i imagine none of these "hentai" games actually have any H-scenes the stuff in them neither do the Nep games (iirc most of them are T-rated) i havent played Death end so i cant speak for that but did play some of the Neptunia games on vita.
The game has a lot going for it but the switch version definitely has some issues such as the long load times and other performance issues (and apparently some crashes)
Those are the things I'm most curious to see if they are addressed in any way or whether the "switch 2" will offer performance/load time boost similar to playing a ps4 game on ps5.
@mjhopkins81 yeah i feel like games such as phantasia, eternia, Destiny etc still hold up pretty well visually (outside of maybe the world map in destiny) plus with tales of destiny i feel the original and remake/DC are enough of a different experience that both versions would be viable.
plus there hasnt really been a "definitive" release of phantasia in the west, just the GBA one and that other one which everyone including namco wants to forget.
iirc the version contained in NDX on psp was considered the "best" version of phantasia so it would be cool to see that one released in the west on switch and whatnot.
@Lightgazer yeah looking at the footage of the games the performance seems pretty damn heinous. its odd since weren't these ones the vita games and i remember them running pretty well on that.
@Ironcore yeah would be really cool if there were games which got patched to run better on switch 2 though i would love to see a system level boost feature so games which had performance issues could at least hit their target framerate easier (similar to running 3ds games on "new 3ds" or ps4 games on ps5)
@NFrealinkling im in the "very cautious optimism" state at this point, i imagine you remember the "NX" days...
"there were things like the infamous patent "leak" where someone had made an alleged "nx" controller based on some patent that had been dug up, (im glad that one ended up false, touchscreen buttons lack the feedback physical ones have)
Then later there were a bunch of leaks which mentioned it would be a handheld with detachable controllers and would be about combining nintendos handheld and console markets, these ones did end up very close to what the "NX" would actually be, with some being dead on.
a lot of the aleged" switch 2" leaks do seem to have more to back them up such as shipping information and the 2022 Nvidia leak but like you mentioned they are still rumours.
@somnambulance
looking at the article it had been updated since with the press release which has it as "successor" i think the "switch next model" thing was a translation from a results call.
at this point im hoping things like the factory leak ends up right and it ends up being a direct follow up to the switch rather than something outright different especially considering the switch occupies a specific part of the market which the other major console manufacturers do not.
its one of the reasons why im hoping for a reveal more than the actual release just to clarify what the thing is.
@Rayquaza2510 with the wiiu it felt like a massive combination of factors with things like the trailer focusing almost exclusively on the controller with the console itself hidden in the background along with them repeatedly using the term "the new controller" and the games being shown being based on wii games.
Though i feel like in the end it was more just that the concept didnt really appeal to a lot of people, and that a lot of the marketing was targeting an audience which had long moved on.
With the switch however it still feels like it was a win from the get-go with the trailer showcasing exactly what the system was all about and the "gimmick" of the system felt simple and unintrusive compared to the wiiu where it kind of felt like it was throwing all these different ideas and features at the wall.
it also feels like the switch had a lot of staying power, even in a world where steam deck and other portable PC-like devices exist the system still has a decent amount of buzz around it and it feels like unlike with the wiiu even more eyes are on what nintendo will do next and the whole idea of a new more powerful switch that plays more games does seem like it would appeal to a lot of people and an easy concept to grasp even with those not in the gaming space (since phones and the like do it)
In short it doesnt feel like theres much to worry about when it comes to the idea of a "switch 2" succeeding or not.
@Fighting_Game_Loser ah yes i forgot about yokai watch, would love to see 2 on the switch since that was a fave, it had such a cozy vibe, i loved the additional towns you visited such as the seaside one.
@Fighting_Game_Loser exactly! while i did also love triple deluxe kirby planet robobot is pretty much THE most wanted 3ds port for me (second would probably be bravely default/second)
@GrailUK I mean, I'm usually all for preserving even bad games but even given that it feels like theres a difference between a game which is bad and those asset flip or ai generated games which flood the store
That said i agree with what commenters like @N64-ROX mentioned in that a lot of it would be a lot more tolerable to scroll through if it wasnt for how much of a hassle the act of actually browsing the eshop was, both on a performance level with the menu lag and how things like the sorting and filtering isnt quite as intuitive as it could be.
am hoping the switch 2 has an overhauled eshop, i felt the wiiu one was pretty good but then we didnt see how it would have faired if the wiiu ended up as popular as the switch and was flooded with games, but it did feel easier to browse.
@Teksette with that then that odd sonic arcade game (segasonic the hedgehog) could also get a potential home release (would be cool given how much of an oddity it is and it being a piece of sonic history)
@Lightsiyd ah ty for the reply, i was unsure about things like the size but yeah it would be cool if the switch 2 had one.
@Ironcore This is something i hope can be the case with games, while naturally im not expecting 30fps games to suddenly be 60fps (that would require a patch iirc) just having games with noticeable frame drops running at their target framerate would be a big bonus for me.
@Medic_alert As someone who isnt the most savy when it comes to this kind of thing, would an SSD be viable for a handheld (im not sure how big they are usually)
I know that playing FFXIV on ps5 its like night and day thanks to the SSD, means that other party members dont have to wait for me to load in and out of dungeons or bosses when we are farming for those mounts which never drop.
Honestly i am hoping that whatever is added doesn't end up taking away from the ability to play the system however you like
with the switch i loved that for the vast majority of games i could just play them on a single screen with regular controls, it felt intuitive plus it meant that when i did end up using things like motion controls or a touch screen it would be in places where they felt the most practical like aiming in a FPS or building levels in mario maker.
Again im hoping the "switch 2" keeps the simplicity of the original system with no mandatory "gimmicks" though offering more options is always nice plus with them doing that whole NSO beta thing a while back i would be interested to see online be used in interesting ways when it comes to multiplayer games.
iirc back in the day square had the scene show up in ads for the game and it even showed up as one of the screenshots on the back of the EU versions box.
@JohnnyMind this has been one of those games i would love to have seen re-released.
i feel like the ds and 3ds are relatively untapped in the port category but games like Aliance alive and Legend of legacy worked well on switch etc and i dont recall radiant historia having any major 2 screen mechanics which couldnt be resolved through simply having more screen space to work with on a HD screen (things like a minimap and a turn order could fit nicely on a widescreen display)
The other most wanted game from the OG DS for a remaster would be solatorobo.
@Not_Soos
for me an issue with that era of Nintendo was in general if you didn't enjoy some of the controler/system features (like touch-screen or motion controls) you were SOL since for the most part they were mandatory even in places where being able to use other control schemes would have been feasible (such as DKC returns) alongside some aspects of games which felt like they were shoehorned in.
The wiiu did feel like it was a bit more flexible with more games supporting the pro-controller or my personal favourite way to play- using the gamepad as a handheld screen. Its why im glad the switch expanded on this aspect and i hope the successor keeps the idea of choice regarding how you play. for me i generally find single screen handheld play easiest to focus on (even moreso than playing on a TV) but for others it could literally mean the difference between being able to physically play a game or not (there was an article a while back about someone with physical disabilities and all the work they had to do in order to play mario galaxy)
i did LOVE the virtual console though, growing up as a SEGA kid i missed out on a lot of nintendo classics so it was an amazing experience being able to play all these legit and is partially why im not a fan of switch legacy games being exclusive to an online service.
but yeah i do hope that choice in how you play continues going forward since while there were a lot of games i loved on ds and wii there were also games where the controller/console felt like more a barrier of entry.
@DaniPooo while i havent had the issue personally i have seen the issue mentioned a few times on the DQ subreddit so it is an issue affecting others.
@Ulysses i am curious to see how switch 2 handles BC since i imagine it will be native and hopefully kind of like playing a 3ds game on "new3ds" or a ps4 game on a pro or ps5 and smooth out the frame drops (they aren't the worst ive seen but can distract from the amazing environments)
Then again considering DQIIIs popularity in japan i wouldn't be surprised if it got a native "switch 2" port down the line.
@Haruki_NLI does make me curious/hope that there can be a fix/patch to cap it at a locked 30 at the very least.
while it wasnt something i really noticed visually from what ive gathered these kinds of things can subtly effect how a game "feels" to play so anything which could improve gamefeel is a plus.
@Buizel
yeah ditto im definitely on team performance when theres a choice (unless the 60fps is unstable in which case i will usually go with the 30fps option)
@nhSnork
Atelier sophie 2 is another one with a "visual/performance" toggle though in that games case both are 30fps though the performance one is naturally more stable. think also pac-man world re-pac is also one alongside Darksiders 1 and Pennys big breakaway (though these are just ones i remember)
am hoping it becomes a more standard feature with "switch 2" when viable.
@carlos82 yeah that is what i was thinking/hoping, also not a fan of games being delisted but if it ends up getting us an improved collection or collections it would at least feel like a net gain considering the issues ive heared regarding this one (on switch in particular)
also like what @JohnnyMind mentioned it doesnt feel like its because NSO since its also being delisted from other platforms.
tbh i wouldnt be opposed to another SEGA AGES line, those were awesome.
@Orpheus79V the colours ones were made even worse too due to how short the levels were so not only were the load times longer but the load-time-to-gameplay-time ratio was also much worse.
@Arzewn Yeah its the same for me, kind of like the with games on NSO i feel its nice as an option but i would rather have the option to purchase the content to use independent of NSO.
also i dont have a mobile/smart device, so when that blizzard guy said "dont you guys have phones" the answer from me would have been "no"
@DjinnFighter yeah the first thing i thought of when i saw those mech bosses was IMPACT.
(i also remember initially renting that game and it didnt come with the manual so i had trouble on that first impact fight since i didnt know the special moves, bought it later, would buy the heck out of a collection!)
Game looks absolutely stunning though seeing the game chug when exploring towns in the video does have me a bit concerned about the switch version.
wouldnt have minded if the "visual" and "performance" modes from the other systems were in the switch one since i wouldn't have minded if the game was a little blurrier if it meant running a lot more stable.
@Banjo- i remember having a similar experience with sonic superstars in which i overall had fun though the boss battles did tend to drag, im not too bothered with long final bosses in sonic games but for the regular bosses for me i think sonic 3k did it well in that you could make them a lot faster through having the right shield or through good use of the insta-shield (thats an ability i never used much of as a kid but going back to the game nowadays its an invaluable tool in lots of places)
in regards to sonic x shadow i feel like one of the only odd omissions is a stage from shadows own game (like sky troops, Circus park or digital circuit) but overall i liked the choices they used, and while a frontiers stage was an odd choice i ended up really enjoying that stage, it has a great atmosphere imo.
@Zaruboggan yeah i ended up importing a few game OSTs though some companies like square enix and falcom have started making them available to buy in the west.
That way i just end up converting the music into a form i can play on my mp3 player.
@Banjo- yeah while i feel like the "still no chao garden" con was more a playful thing and not like they are lowering the score but the whole "suggesting that those that don't like a certain game are the opposite of intelligent, " reminds me of issues like when people claim that others only dislike something because they are "haters" or dismissing criticism as "whining" in general it feels like there's a big issue with removing the agency of others takes.
i guess its partially similar to how the sheer number of takes on the internet often lead to either one persons take being applied to a whole group or a multitude of different conflicting opinions being applied to the same group, an example being the whole "sonic fans dont know what they want" statement when in reality its more that a large fanbase combined with a series which has undergone a lot of changes over the years leads to it being much harder to build a general "consensus" its a similar case with the final fantasy series.
though thats enough semi off-topic rambling from me, so to bring things back towards this game, overall i loved it, i already really enjoyed sonic generations and found the shadow campaign even better.
plus the switch version turned out well (was concerned initially due to how we didnt get to see footage of said version prerelease with even the pre-release footage on nintendos channel having a disclaimer)
looking at things from outside the whole "culture war" mess...
The removal of the slider was a confusing one considering its an option that's very common in character creators both before and after the initial release of xenoblade X with quite a few of examples being franchise more mainstream than Xenoblade was at the time (or even now in some cases) such as Final fantasy XIV and the sims 4.
The lin stuff i could definitely see why it was changed considering the characters age.
while in this case it feels like the changes being in the japan version could be just because it would be easier to use one version as a base (and iirc the US one did have some QOL stuff like unlocking fashion slots from the start) in a few cases it seems like changes are made to japanese re reelases due to changes in how the Japanese ratings board, iirc its the main reason behind the changes to dragon quest IIIs remake and i imagine some of the Lin stuff in Xenoblade X could fall under that (though the slider i cannot see affecting the rating considering again, its not an uncommon slider in character creators)
again looking at the why and the what-for in these kinds of situations a lot of the time it falls outside of the reasons behind a lot of internet discourse
@Ham-n-jam
The character creator as a whole did feel rather limited and while i wouldnt really expect something on the level of dragons dogma or street fighter 6 (or the various wrestling games over the years) it would have been cool to have at least a few more sliders or control over a characters build other than just height.
one game i would love to see would be the vita remake of Ys IV (Memories of celceta) since it did end up making its way to ps4 since i remember really enjoying the game world despite some flaws such as an abrupt ending.
out of the ones on switch i havent played nordics yet but really enjoyed VIII and oath in felghana (i imagine oath counts since its coming to switch)
i am looking forward to seeing if falcom go all in on the "switch 2" from the get go.
@Diagnosed_H1N1 yeah im hoping this is a case of it being an early build or something since it feels like a lot of lighting and shading is gone which really contributed to the atmosphere.
In the original i loved the "cozy" vibe of that stage and it feels like in the footage that a lot of that vibe is missing in the new version, again though im hoping it could just be a case of this being an in development build or something since a lot of the other stuff ive seen from the new version seems nice.
@JohnnyMind yeah for me things like load time issues and whatnot were what i was concerned about with the demo and are something i can hope are fixable especially since going by the original game this is a game where you are jumping from location to location a lot.
one thing I've heard which sounds frustrating is that turning off the motion controls just ends up disabling the motion controlled minigames rather than allowing you to use a different control scheme for them, would have been cool to have had some skyward-sword style creative solutions to allow them to still be playable.
otherwise game looks great and hearing that its more solo friendly than others makes it seem like its also good for when i dont have other players around (which is most of the time)
@epicgamner Thats certainly nice to hear, especially since with no footage (iirc) of the switch version released officially (even the trailer on nintendos youtube had a disclaimer that it wasnt actual switch footage) it wasnt the most reassuring.
@JohnnyMind yeah its like what @datamonkey mentioned, when you have 10000 people (and with no NDA from what people are saying) its an almost statistical impossibility that everyone is going to be quiet about it, even in a situation where about 99% of those people didnt share anything that would still leave around 100 people potentially leaking. it doesnt feel like the sign that nintendo shouldn't have any faith in fans and/or humanity that some are making it out to be and as you and others mentioned it could even be part of the plan to generate or measure interest.
@sdelfin ah i didnt realise about the camera, i do remember playing the Saturn version first and then replaying it on psone and the psone version definitely feeling the most solid.
from what i remember there were lots of little variations of each music track on the psone version which the saturn version lacked alongside the final boss on the psone version having a unique theme for each phase wheres the saturn one iirc had the same music playing on each phase of the boss.
@GameOtaku iirc the version that was released on 360 and rare replay is backwards compatible with the latest xbox so it is technically on modern systems with a way to keep it but i do get where you are coming from with wanting an option to buy and keep legacy content on switch.
im curious to see if its using the psone version as a base since iirc there were quite a few music tracks missing in the saturn version (unsure about PC version)
@PushMyGran1986 yeah this is something which im curious about, iirc i dont think weve seen any footage/gameplay yet and even the one on nintendo's youtube mentions its an approximation of what it may look like on switch and not actually running on the system.
not really keen on committing to buying something i haven't even seen yet.
i hear that daybreak 1 was better on switch than cold steel 3-4 and reverie since i think it was in-house, curious to see how daybreak 2 turns out, i imagine when kai makes its way west we will be on the switch successor.
the ability to disable motion controls is a nice option and it is nice to see nintendo embrace those kinds of options since for some they can be straight up accessibility issues, hoping for similar options going into the next gen switch since more choice in how to play is always good.
looking at some of the other stuff it does sound like a really nice package and it is also interesting to hear that it can still be fun solo since a lot of the time when playing on switch i am alone so having some solo friendly stuff in a multiplayer focused game is always nice.
@Zuljaras does make me curious if its specifically for those versions and if in theory M2 could do their own ports.
i imagine it would mean SOTN with the original VA (though some would consider that a plus considering its memetic status) and rondo with JP VA like on the virtual console version on wii (though hopefully with text translation)
@FunGuy TBH i wouldnt say no personally to those N64 ones in a collection since for me they did have their own charm under the jank (and i never got to play legacy) , but yeah im hoping that somehow they are able to bring SOTN and rondo to all platforms. would be cool if the next collection would be those alongside the N64 games with adventure rebirth as the "bonus" game.
either way the M2 collections we got have been amazing and im looking forward to seeing what they do next.

Does seem odd considering all the stuff you see being shovelled on the eshop that these would be canceled.
Though in the case of the nep trilogy the most offensive thing about those seems to be the switch performance.

but yeah i do hope that choice in how you play continues going forward since while there were a lot of games i loved on ds and wii there were also games where the controller/console felt like more a barrier of entry.
Re: Review: Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake (Switch) - Square Doesn't Drop The Ball, Just Some Frames
@DaniPooo
while i havent had the issue personally i have seen the issue mentioned a few times on the DQ subreddit so it is an issue affecting others.
@Ulysses
i am curious to see how switch 2 handles BC since i imagine it will be native and hopefully kind of like playing a 3ds game on "new3ds" or a ps4 game on a pro or ps5 and smooth out the frame drops (they aren't the worst ive seen but can distract from the amazing environments)
Then again considering DQIIIs popularity in japan i wouldn't be surprised if it got a native "switch 2" port down the line.

@Markatron84
Thats how people know they are YOUR electronics!
Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations Mod Runs At A Sweet 60fps on Switch
@Haruki_NLI
does make me curious/hope that there can be a fix/patch to cap it at a locked 30 at the very least.
while it wasnt something i really noticed visually from what ive gathered these kinds of things can subtly effect how a game "feels" to play so anything which could improve gamefeel is a plus.
Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations Mod Runs At A Sweet 60fps on Switch
@Buizel
yeah ditto im definitely on team performance when theres a choice (unless the 60fps is unstable in which case i will usually go with the 30fps option)
@nhSnork
Re: Sega Delisting 'Mega Drive Classics' On Switch eShop This December
@carlos82
yeah that is what i was thinking/hoping, also not a fan of games being delisted but if it ends up getting us an improved collection or collections it would at least feel like a net gain considering the issues ive heared regarding this one (on switch in particular)
also like what @JohnnyMind mentioned it doesnt feel like its because NSO since its also being delisted from other platforms.
tbh i wouldnt be opposed to another SEGA AGES line, those were awesome.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Sonic X Shadow Generations
@Orpheus79V
the colours ones were made even worse too due to how short the levels were so not only were the load times longer but the load-time-to-gameplay-time ratio was also much worse.
Re: So, Will You Be Listening To The New Mobile App Nintendo Music?
@Arzewn
Yeah its the same for me, kind of like the with games on NSO i feel its nice as an option but i would rather have the option to purchase the content to use independent of NSO.
also i dont have a mobile/smart device, so when that blizzard guy said "dont you guys have phones" the answer from me would have been "no"
Re: Zelda's Got Nothing On Divine Dynamo Flamefrit's Grass-Cutting Mechanic
@DjinnFighter
yeah the first thing i thought of when i saw those mech bosses was IMPACT.
(i also remember initially renting that game and it didnt come with the manual so i had trouble on that first impact fight since i didnt know the special moves, bought it later, would buy the heck out of a collection!)
Re: Video: "It Was Just Like Coming Home" - We Talk Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake Ahead Of Its Launch
Game looks absolutely stunning though seeing the game chug when exploring towns in the video does have me a bit concerned about the switch version.
wouldnt have minded if the "visual" and "performance" modes from the other systems were in the switch one since i wouldn't have minded if the game was a little blurrier if it meant running a lot more stable.
other than that game looks amazing.
Re: Review: Sonic X Shadow Generations (Switch) - A Blistering Return To Form For Both Hedgehogs
@Banjo-
i remember having a similar experience with sonic superstars in which i overall had fun though the boss battles did tend to drag, im not too bothered with long final bosses in sonic games but for the regular bosses for me i think sonic 3k did it well in that you could make them a lot faster through having the right shield or through good use of the insta-shield (thats an ability i never used much of as a kid but going back to the game nowadays its an invaluable tool in lots of places)
in regards to sonic x shadow i feel like one of the only odd omissions is a stage from shadows own game (like sky troops, Circus park or digital circuit) but overall i liked the choices they used, and while a frontiers stage was an odd choice i ended up really enjoying that stage, it has a great atmosphere imo.
Re: 'Nintendo Music' Is A New Mobile App Exclusive To Switch Online Members
@Zaruboggan
yeah i ended up importing a few game OSTs though some companies like square enix and falcom have started making them available to buy in the west.
That way i just end up converting the music into a form i can play on my mp3 player.
Re: Review: Sonic X Shadow Generations (Switch) - A Blistering Return To Form For Both Hedgehogs
@Banjo-
yeah while i feel like the "still no chao garden" con was more a playful thing and not like they are lowering the score but the whole "suggesting that those that don't like a certain game are the opposite of intelligent, " reminds me of issues like when people claim that others only dislike something because they are "haters" or dismissing criticism as "whining" in general it feels like there's a big issue with removing the agency of others takes.
i guess its partially similar to how the sheer number of takes on the internet often lead to either one persons take being applied to a whole group or a multitude of different conflicting opinions being applied to the same group, an example being the whole "sonic fans dont know what they want" statement when in reality its more that a large fanbase combined with a series which has undergone a lot of changes over the years leads to it being much harder to build a general "consensus" its a similar case with the final fantasy series.
though thats enough semi off-topic rambling from me, so to bring things back towards this game, overall i loved it, i already really enjoyed sonic generations and found the shadow campaign even better.
plus the switch version turned out well (was concerned initially due to how we didnt get to see footage of said version prerelease with even the pre-release footage on nintendos channel having a disclaimer)
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X Fans Are Once Again Discussing The Game's Censorship
looking at things from outside the whole "culture war" mess...
@Ham-n-jam
The character creator as a whole did feel rather limited and while i wouldnt really expect something on the level of dragons dogma or street fighter 6 (or the various wrestling games over the years) it would have been cool to have at least a few more sliders or control over a characters build other than just height.
Re: Best Ys Games Of All Time - Switch And Nintendo Systems
one game i would love to see would be the vita remake of Ys IV (Memories of celceta) since it did end up making its way to ps4 since i remember really enjoying the game world despite some flaws such as an abrupt ending.
out of the ones on switch i havent played nordics yet but really enjoyed VIII and oath in felghana (i imagine oath counts since its coming to switch)
i am looking forward to seeing if falcom go all in on the "switch 2" from the get go.
Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 19.0.1 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@shiftbarackyeaugh
just wait until "switch 2" hits, were gonna be hitting stability levels once never thought possible!
Re: Video: Yooka-Replaylee Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison (Original & Remaster)
@Diagnosed_H1N1
yeah im hoping this is a case of it being an early build or something since it feels like a lot of lighting and shading is gone which really contributed to the atmosphere.
In the original i loved the "cozy" vibe of that stage and it feels like in the footage that a lot of that vibe is missing in the new version, again though im hoping it could just be a case of this being an in development build or something since a lot of the other stuff ive seen from the new version seems nice.
Re: Review: Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge Of The Seven (Switch) - A Remake That's Equally Intriguing & Underwhelming
@JohnnyMind
yeah for me things like load time issues and whatnot were what i was concerned about with the demo and are something i can hope are fixable especially since going by the original game this is a game where you are jumping from location to location a lot.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Super Mario Party Jamboree?
one thing I've heard which sounds frustrating is that turning off the motion controls just ends up disabling the motion controlled minigames rather than allowing you to use a different control scheme for them, would have been cool to have had some skyward-sword style creative solutions to allow them to still be playable.
otherwise game looks great and hearing that its more solo friendly than others makes it seem like its also good for when i dont have other players around (which is most of the time)
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Sonic X Shadow Generations
@epicgamner
Thats certainly nice to hear, especially since with no footage (iirc) of the switch version released officially (even the trailer on nintendos youtube had a disclaimer that it wasnt actual switch footage) it wasnt the most reassuring.
Re: As Expected, Nintendo Is Struggling To Contain Switch Online Playtest Leaks
@JohnnyMind
yeah its like what @datamonkey mentioned, when you have 10000 people (and with no NDA from what people are saying) its an almost statistical impossibility that everyone is going to be quiet about it, even in a situation where about 99% of those people didnt share anything that would still leave around 100 people potentially leaking. it doesnt feel like the sign that nintendo shouldn't have any faith in fans and/or humanity that some are making it out to be and as you and others mentioned it could even be part of the plan to generate or measure interest.
Re: 'Croc' Comparison Video Shows A Solid Yet Familiar Graphical Evolution
@sdelfin
ah i didnt realise about the camera, i do remember playing the Saturn version first and then replaying it on psone and the psone version definitely feeling the most solid.
from what i remember there were lots of little variations of each music track on the psone version which the saturn version lacked alongside the final boss on the psone version having a unique theme for each phase wheres the saturn one iirc had the same music playing on each phase of the boss.
again unsure what the PC version was like
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's N64 Library Next Week
@GameOtaku
iirc the version that was released on 360 and rare replay is backwards compatible with the latest xbox so it is technically on modern systems with a way to keep it but i do get where you are coming from with wanting an option to buy and keep legacy content on switch.
Re: 'Croc' Comparison Video Shows A Solid Yet Familiar Graphical Evolution
im curious to see if its using the psone version as a base since iirc there were quite a few music tracks missing in the saturn version (unsure about PC version)
Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations Shows Off Awesome Terios Skin
@PushMyGran1986
yeah this is something which im curious about, iirc i dont think weve seen any footage/gameplay yet and even the one on nintendo's youtube mentions its an approximation of what it may look like on switch and not actually running on the system.
not really keen on committing to buying something i haven't even seen yet.
Re: Trails Through Daybreak II Release Date Adds To A Crowded February 2025
i hear that daybreak 1 was better on switch than cold steel 3-4 and reverie since i think it was in-house, curious to see how daybreak 2 turns out, i imagine when kai makes its way west we will be on the switch successor.
Re: Review: Super Mario Party Jamboree (Switch) - Only The Best Game In The Series
the ability to disable motion controls is a nice option and it is nice to see nintendo embrace those kinds of options since for some they can be straight up accessibility issues, hoping for similar options going into the next gen switch since more choice in how to play is always good.
looking at some of the other stuff it does sound like a really nice package and it is also interesting to hear that it can still be fun solo since a lot of the time when playing on switch i am alone so having some solo friendly stuff in a multiplayer focused game is always nice.
Re: Castlevania Dominus Collection Lands New Update, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@Zuljaras
does make me curious if its specifically for those versions and if in theory M2 could do their own ports.
i imagine it would mean SOTN with the original VA (though some would consider that a plus considering its memetic status) and rondo with JP VA like on the virtual console version on wii (though hopefully with text translation)
@FunGuy
TBH i wouldnt say no personally to those N64 ones in a collection since for me they did have their own charm under the jank (and i never got to play legacy) , but yeah im hoping that somehow they are able to bring SOTN and rondo to all platforms. would be cool if the next collection would be those alongside the N64 games with adventure rebirth as the "bonus" game.
either way the M2 collections we got have been amazing and im looking forward to seeing what they do next.
