Re: Review: 8BitDo Arcade Controller For Switch + Switch 2 - The Best Way To Play Street Fighter 6

MetalGear_Yoshi

I get that a leverless layout may be superior in terms of input speed and accuracy but I play games for fun and if I'm using a "stick" I want the stick. It's most of the appeal of the accessory for me.

Coo that 8bitdo is servicing different markets though. I hope one day they release an arcade pad with a spinner and trackball. Would be so cool for an emulation set up.

Re: Blurred Art In Nintendo's N64 Switch Online Trailer Suggests Exciting Upcoming Additions

Would love Rayman 2. Got it with my N64 but was never able to beat it because I didn't have a memory pak and the cart had no save function.

@wiiware That'd be so cool. Idk why sega themselves don't do a multiplatform app or service. They could do it like NSO if they want to do subscription or that Capcom Stadium game if they want you to buy individual titles. It's like they can't be bothered putting out any retro stuff past the 16bit era or selling Sonic 1-3 for the 39th time.

Re: Poll: Has Your Switch 2's Screen Got Any Nasty Scratches Yet?

MetalGear_Yoshi

I picked up a glass screen protector even though I was hesitant as I'm terrible at putting them on (my og switch looked awful between the bubbles and a big dust spec). Glad I did though as it turned out perfect. Had a frame you put over the Switch 2 for a perfect fit and then took a few minutes to work the bubbles out to edges and I'm very happy with the end result. No dust, no bubbles. I could be imagining it but I feel as if it now attracts less dust than it did the week I had it as it was out of the box.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's Game Boy Library With Three More Classics

MetalGear_Yoshi

@Scollurio It's baffling to me. Companies are so enamoured with the idea of subscriptions but I can't help but think that if they let people buy the games outright (and had a much larger library on offer) they'd make way more money. Hell, they could have their cake and eat it too by selling the games and having a smaller library like we have now on rotation with the subscription.

That said they've done both ways on a few very successful systems now so they have the numbers, maybe they know better.

Re: Feature: Capcom Fighting Collection - Every Game, And Why You Should Be Excited

MetalGear_Yoshi

Will this collection have enough Street Fighter to make the Street Fighter collection not worth it for a casual player? I've eyed it off on sale across multiple platforms but never pulled the trigger. I've barely played any Street Fighter really and have leaned more towards Tekken/Soul Calibur and MK when it comes to fighters. Even those only casually.

This looks like it might offer more value in terms of variety but still have some SF content too.

Re: Switch Online Should Leverage GameCube, Wii And Deliver "More" N64 Content, Says Former NoA Boss

MetalGear_Yoshi

It's got to the point where I can't imagine a reality where Nintendo doesn't hugely disappoint with retro content. From Wii until now they've been glacial in their rollouts. And to make it worse they basically start from scratch each generation. 3DS and Wii U weren't too bad by the end given the era but it took ages to get there. The Switch solution has been utterly abysmal. The expansion pass as it currently stands is just about the worst value in all gaming, especially if you're not that interested in the Mario Kart or Animal Crossing content.

They could have a phenomenal service that made the switch worth buying just for the retro catalogue available. Instead we have what we have. 5+ years in and we've got half a dozen N64 games and no hand-held stuff.

@Orokosaki it's not a zero sum game. They don't have their AAA dev teams on NES port duty. It's an emulation service, you don't need EAD in development and Myamoto directing the efforts.

Re: Heritage Auctions Responds To Allegations Of "Fraud And Deception In The Retro Video Game Market"

MetalGear_Yoshi

@ATaco Karl will just add it to the list. Hopefully Notch would back him in a potential lawsuit for this case too.

My feeling is they won't proceed with a lawsuit because if he doesn't fold they leave themselves open to deposition. Given the history of the auction house I don't think that would be pretty.

The world's best gamer sued because he's a fragile clown. These people just want to run their dodgy scam.
