Thought it was the best Direct in a very long time. A couple of things I don't care about (Starlink) but there was a bunch of awesome announcements. Zelda looks gorgeous and is my favourite Zelda game ever so that's great. Maker 2 looks fantastic. Fire Emblem looks great. Even that Sum Sum game looks like good fun. Just a lot of great stuff and they've managed to make the next year of Switch go from pretty thin to absolutely packed in just half an hour. Well done. Oh and Tetris 99 made me sub to to NSO and feel it's worth it 😂
It's not about the money. It's about wanting access to SNES/64/GCN/GB/GBA games. How is that hard to understand? I don't pay for the service. I'm still disappointed every month when I read that they've released yet another couple of NES games.
"In other words Nintendo continues to ra ra ra". Like this sale is somehow a personal attack on US Nintendo users. It's two different departments acting autonomously. Maybe the fact that they make more money in the US is why they don't have sales there... Sales aren't rewards, they're tools to generate revenue. They're moving units in the US so they don't need discounts, not so much in PAL territories. That kind of regional difference is why they have different regional departments in the first place.
And the paltry amount of games they do give us are hampered by terrible overlays and no control customisation. As someone that doesn't play any switch games online it's a truly terrible service.
@Kiyata_Hamasaki Curious as to why you think the physical release is worth buying but the digital isn't? I was planning to get this digitally tomorrow and now I'm paranoid that I'll be missing out on something .
@Fidu Thank you for the response, think I'll save my money. I love me some DK but I think I'd prefer to play it on 3DS than with the Wiimote. Plus I gotta get SMG 2 and then Metroid trilogy
DKC Returns worth it if I already have the 3DS version? Haven't even played the 3DS version tbh, so if there's no difference beyond playing it on the big screen I'll pass.
Had this as a kid so there's a huge nostalgia factor in my impression of the game. That said, if you love the DKC games I'm sure you'll get some fun from DKL and enjoy it despite its foibles, if you don't like DKC then this won't change your mind, also, shame on you for not loving DKC!
In regards to the issues of enemies not reading well I would suggest you change the screen option to the green/black setting. Everything pops more and becomes much easier to see.
@Readyletsgo; DK Land is a different game, it has the same setting as DKC with the same worlds appearing but the levels are different. It used to kick my but as a youngster when I had it on my old brick GB
So how much will the two new Retro DKCs cost in Australia? I bought Tropical Freeze around 2 weeks ago for $60, really happy with it. Will get all the DKC VC games myself, already bought the Snes ones on Wii U so they should be cheap too which is good.
I really hope there's a Australian release at the same time as the Euro. Not holding my breath though, as the Aus ratings board is usually the first to leak this kind of thing.
Just bought Sayonara, been waiting for a sale for a while now. I was wondering if you guys here at Nintendolife could start adding the Aussie prices in whith the European prices, that would be very nice and save me guessing (wrongly in most cases) as to what the price will probably be

If only you had the option to not play them...

Put up with mock-up game covers? Such a burden...
Re: Rumour: Dataminer Uncovers SNES Games For Nintendo Switch Online Service
Wonder if they'll have terrible controller overlays that you can't turn off like NES?

Complaining about complainers. The vicious cycle of internet comment sections the world over.
Re: Nintendo Continues Festive Offers In Europe With Further Discounts
@DarthFoxMcCloud
There's no nebulous "Nintendo" that makes decisions like this. What Nintendo of Europe does has nothing to do with Nintendo of America and vice versa.
By the sounds of it I doubt you'd be happy regardless of what NOA did anyway 🙄
