Re: Sea Of Stars Developer Sabotage Replacing 'The Completionist' NPC

@Sonicka
"The rest of the claims against his character and what really went on behind the scenes is what is presently up for debate. If you feel I am fence sitting on that aspect then I will plainly say that I don't think he did this purposefully and I think we need a lot more information."

So in his video chat with Karl. He claims to have discovered the money wasn't donated back in 2021. 2 years ago. It doesn't take 2 years to fix the problem. That's 2 years hoping people forget about it.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Super Mario RPG?

MegaMari0

@Uncle_Franklin meh. Probably trolls. The game itself is a product of its time and my score was an 8. It would be a decent yet forgettable title if the Mario brand wasn't attached. If they had added more than just trio moves and QoL improvements I'd score it higher. I do enjoy the game as I've fond memories of it.

Re: Random: Bowser Tries To Woo Elephant Peach In Super Mario Bros. Wonder Ad

MegaMari0

@Ryu_Niiyama power hungry tyrant would also include coveting the power peach has. Trying to woo her is one way, and when that inevitably fails, he resorts to kidnapping to potentially gain that power. He is the bad guy. Adding stalker behavior isn't much of a stretch. Creepy behavior? Sure, it reinforces the fact that he is, again, the bad guy. It's makes him a simple 2 dimensional character in a game that is not known for plot.

Re: Random: Making "Miyamoto Happy" Isn't The Goal Of Development, According To Pikmin 4's Creators

MegaMari0

Miyamoto always holds sway, period. It's not just because of his accomplishments and reputation. It's also cultural. You greatly respect and revere your elders in Japanese culture. They have a wisdom that is highly valued and that is typically why you see many of them in executive positions at corporations or important positions in government. Is that always the case? No. However, they tend to portray this aspect in media like anime on a regular basis. So this notion that miyamoto has total control may only be surface level in that the developers hold onto his every word but miyamoto himself may only be trying to suggest things as opposed to demanding things. But hey, that's just one man's opinion.

Re: Feature: From Piston Hurricane To Today: Why Latinx In Gaming Exists

MegaMari0

As a man born in the states to el Salvadoran immigrants, we grew up with gaming. first with the NES and then with other consoles. It is true that we are under represented. Blue beetle, miles morales, and others are few and far between and I truly appreciate when they come around. Visiting my parents homeland, the local kids and teens play games in internet cafés or watch streams of games. Even my own kids marvel at the idea of seeing someone like them in games and other media and they are mixed heritage now. They saw Miguel O hara, Latin-Irish and they thought it was neat because they are irish-salvadoran. I like the push for more representation in a very homogeneous industry.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Is Leaving PlatinumGames

Not to rain on anyone's parade but this reminds me of the OTHER prominent developers that struck out on their own and didn't make a big splash. Cliff bleszinski of gears of war fame, keiji inafune of megaman fame, and Tomonobu Itagaki of ninja Gaiden fame.

Re: Rumour: Universal Closing "Big Deal" With Nintendo For Zelda Illumination Movie

MegaMari0

Why illumination? Because $1 billion that's why. Hate on them all you want but they have other properties that did well at the box office. They have a proven track record even if we disagree. Nintendo may already have a specific style they want for LoZ that illumination already covers. They could go the wind waker or Awakening route given those art styles are very kid friendly. We're not the target audience folks. My(your) kids are.

Re: Random: People Are Sharing Their "Useless" Video Game Knowledge On Twitter - Here Are The Best Ones

In Dragon quest 3 when in alefgard, if you play the boardgame in the well, land on a spot that gives you 10k experience while your close enough to leveling up, it will not trigger the level up event. Leave the board, go to the overworld and fight any creature, you have a small (almost random)chance of leveling up all the way to lvl99.

Edit: this was the Gameboy Color version aka Dragon Warrior 3
