"owning" software will always be a physical affair. You never own digital content. This easily crosses into what software makers have been doing for years. Adobe, Microsoft, and others switched to the subscription model to make more money. You most likely can't get a disc nowadays. They're pulling a Thanos, they are "inevitable".

@koekiemonster don't worry, there's already a dedicated mod scene doing the same thing they did to BotW. Replacing textures, improving draw distance, adding fun little quirks, etc. Not that you or I will enjoy it but it's nice to know people are out there who will improve upon game freaks shoddy workmanship.

I'm guessing dual strike just wasn't workable due to it using the DS screens back then. Still wouldn't mind it if they just split screened it. Dual strike was one of my faves but I'll still buy this remake.

They have the capital to spend on getting help from other studios with more experience. You can't tell me that they blew through the billions they made off of Pokemon Go(and millions even now) even if they had to share it with Niantic and Nintendo. They could have easily expanded to hire more experienced devs and such. Gamefreak reminds me of Konami without the crap treatment of employees. Just coasting on their laurels exerting minimal effort because they know they sit on the most valuable IP on the planet. I mean I've already accepted how they are now. Just disappointed is all. That being said, I'll definitely give the game a go. Ill just keep expectations low as usual.

I did my part and have a copy. My boys were obsessed with this game while I was playing it for a few weeks. They'll get to play it when their reflexes are better.

Look at the flop that is stadia. That's more harmful than this acquisition. Microsoft has a few ways of acquiring Nintendo if they wanted to do so. Off the top of my head, they could pull a Vivendi and acquire Nintendo that way, no?

This game has been anything but definitive. To add insult to injury for those who adore gta, rockstar had the originals and their superior mods removed so you can only purchase this monstrosity. Not that mods could be played on the switch but, just goes to show, sell crap and it still gets bought somehow.

It costs money to make these prototypes anyway, so I'm surprised Nintendo, being stingy as they are with their IP, would allow so many prototypes in the first place.

people like kotick, bezos, gates, musk, all have body guards who were probably ex special forces or something. Being hated by the public at large comes with the billionaire club membership regardless of whether you're a decent human being or scum like kotick.

I've seen the vitriol over Pokemon SwSh. The comparison videos and such where it's hard not to conclude that the devs aren't putting their best foot forward. I wouldn't want to pay for a game that copy's and pastes their entries like every years Madden NFL. I boughty entry, played it, then traded it back to get something else. I play for nostalgia now, not for the cutting edge graphics or engrossing story lol

Still have my first and only day 1 switch. Bought another switch since but my day 1 is in rough shape now. Only works well when docked. Handheld mode is no longer a real option after all the wear and tear.

Personally,there's just nowhere near enough content to justify that price point. Given how they drip feed everything, I won't be paying at all this generation and will simply wait for the successor to see how they handle it then. I'm THAT pessimistic.

@BloodNinja in regard to the control scheme, the d pad would not work because of the precision aiming mechanic. D pad wouldn't work as well.

As for the timing of those QTE situations, I don't feel they were that difficult or problematic. Difficulty reminded me of dark souls or the ninja garden collection. Sure, not all of have cat like reflexes or that much foresight or planning but when you get game over , at least the checkpoints are there so that you can get right back into it.

Aa for the bots, I enjoyed the cat and mouse game. Running around blindly as you mapped the corridors gave me that Ridley Scott alien trapped in a corner feeling. I get it if it's a waste of time because you're playing for the plot and want to push forward. Not a dig at you or anything like that. Different strokes for different folks.

I've been playing dread to the point where I'm wandering around where I can instead of playing through it. I only just got the gravity suit and I'm looking to explore everything I can.

I play roms only when the hardware and cartridges are just too damn hard to get a hold of at a reasonable price. That said, I bought my copy of Dread

I find that feature to be very whimsical/silly. However, it feels out of place anyway and doesn't flow. Then again, I'm not a game dev so what do I know.

I never got soft locked before, even on the Wii version. So it's very unfortunate for those unlucky few. Currently in the sand sea section of that region. Having awesome fun.

@Pickettfury it's a lucrative industry. The more eyes you have, the better. They have a long proven track record of this behavior. It's pretty safe to assume they have ulterior motives. It's naive to think gaming is its own bubble when it affects countless lives and other industries....so yeah.

Maybe they were waiting for this to occur before announcing for switch? Maybe Nintendo/Netflix couldn't come to a licensing agreement? Or maybe Nintendo prefers to keep it mostly a gaming console despite Hulu being present.

I'm a zoner with Belmont so he wasn't that difficult. I play 5 stocks and got him down to 1 stock vs my 4. Now I will say he has a knack for sniping and pulling off lot of up Bs. Very dangerous after 100%.

I'm of the opinion that it should be a hybrid game with racing and focusing on captain falcons bounty hunter adventures.

That's a lot of bug fixes. Only other thing I've seen matching that level of patching is when smash gets updated with new characters.

I can see where the explicit sex scenes would turn olyou away, but on the other hand I can see it as a decent plot driver. People have mentioned crimes of "Passion" and such so Im thinking in the same vein. I see how she used the act to further their goals which goes to show how easily man can be manipulated. It could of been done in a more tasteful manner, alas, to each their own.

If captain falcon is a racer and bounty hunter, why couldn't they do a game that focuses on his bounty hunter side with racing as a side gig? They take his smash bros moveset and have at it in the fzero universe. Do some world building while they're at it.

Alrighty then. Time to bust out my toon link, megaman, Belmonts, And duckhunt. I do frequently get up close and personal with DK and bowser so I rotate my play style a lot.

I bought the pro controller instead to avoid this issue after stupidly buying 3 additional sets thinking they were defective. At this point, I think nintendo owes me like $320 bucks including the original set for their manufacturing shenanigans. The pro controller bit the dust after 3 years so I got my money's worth there. I feel sorry for the switch lite owners honestly.

@Clyde_Radcliffe it took a few attempts but it did let me host games. I think the work around to my version issue is to host games. I hadn't had any booting issues, well, because I'm hosting.

You occasionally get booted from a game for some perceived version difference between you and potentially another player. it's happened to me on mobile and once on switch. I find it irritating.

What needs to happen is an official nintendo sponsored/owned organization needs to spring up and allow players to register for smash tournaments. However, it's house, their rules. Unbelievably strict to the point that background checks are performed, contracts signed, etc. If that isn't enough to scare most players away, it'll filter out most of the unsavory players. If one happens to cause a controversy, nintendo takes the scorched earth approach, wipes out any semblance of the players achievements, their sponsor, teammates (if any). Nuke it from orbit in other words. Nintendo doesn't mess around but at the very least the community would have an official presence outside these underground/minor tourneys. Glad I don't work for nintendos legal department.

I think I still own the cartridge along with samurai showdown and the dragon warrior trilogy for the gameboy as well

A recently released "did you know" gaming video spoke about how sunshine was rushed out to sell gamecubes when it first launched. It is indeed a wibbly wobbly kind of game.

Greek BoTW. Meh. Nothing really interests me. Even the combat seems pretty lackluster. At least with BoTW the engine could let you do some weird/interesting things with combat. This feel a bit too hack and slashy without a rewarding system to compensate for it.

Nope not coming back. Even though the family subscription is cheaper than competitors, I find I get more bang for my buck on the others. So enjoy your splatfests everyone.

After the let down that was sticker star, and never touching color splash, I refuse to buy any paper Mario game they doesn't AT LEAST follow the charm, battle system, and variety that was thousand years door. Ninjara as I see him as another Greninja minus the water moves, max brass as a shiny Capt falcon but ganondorf speed and power. Bark and byte as another ice climber or duck hunt pair.

I am for a port to the next Nintendo console. Just make a few of the existing Mii costumes legit characters and that's it. Cup head, Geno, MegaMan X. I'll be set.
