US law always lags behind advances in technology and it doesn't help when the judges and such are old as dirt so they don't understand the gaming industry or concepts like that and how they relate to copyright law and such. It could've also been a rubber stamping of this which I can totally see happening in this situation.
@BrazillianCara yes some of us won't shut up because it is one of the most profitable franchises in history. You'd think they could provide a decent budget to afford to add in voice acting, fix bugs like falling through the floor, non flat textures or at least optimize it enough so draw distance and loading isn't a slog. You see indie studios doing more with less. any hope that was rekindled after Arceus was swiftly put out by Scarlet and Violet. I played it and sold it back and will stick with the older titles and rom hacks. My kids will play them as well.
Let's avoid getting political in the comments. That being said, I won't be replacing my existing switch 1 consoles nor will my I'll be purchasing a switch 2 and will stick with PS5 and PC as my primary entertainment. Cie la vie
lot of good the premium quality does when the drift kicks in Early during your ownership period. Had to replace 4 pairs of switch 1 joycons and the pro controller at least once within 2 years. Learned my lesson, hall effect 3rd party pro controllers for me and I'm not bothering with the joycons unless I have to.
@Drummertist 37 and just got the bill for braces for my oldest. Sticking with switch 1, PC, and PS5 sales on anything 50% or more. No new consoles for me until 2030. Hopefully by then "things" will have improved.
To me, sounds like they're going the Disney route and remaking all their classics for a quick buck and calling it "rebooting and awakening" themselves.
I just recently repaired my day 1 switch. Bought replacement rails and a fan and took it apart myself. Unfortunately I still ended up damaging it because one of the screws was stripped from the old rails and also near the game card slot. Oh well. At least the joycons charge and the fan is silent again. Can't trade it in as the value isn't there. Kudos to those who kept it t in n pristine condition and are able to get a switch 2 in the end.
I'm going to take a guess and say some cost money and others are free due to their complexity/levels of effort involved and the prestige of the franchise in question.
@MrCarlos46 not sure what you mean or if you're serious but, corporations don't get a say in tariffs implemented by their respective governments. All they can do is pass the extra cost onto the consumers which is the expected result.
Edit: they can technically protest and yell to not do it but that's it.
I've seen the reviews all over and it's a barebones experience to me. Seems unfinished. That being said, the more improvements the better. Probably circle back in a year.
Didn't apply myself. Closest was NY and I wasn't about to drive 3 hours north for that. I'll be content with my Switch 1 experience memories in a Washington DC warehouse.
I really have to get around to finishing the game. With little ones around me I can never find the time until they are asleep. Fits perfectly actually. Playing a horror game in the dark.
I should of proof read my submission because the errors are eating me alive now haha. It's nice to see the variety of submissions and I always look forward to reading them.
Thoroughly enjoying this nostalgia trip. I still own my GBC cart of DQ3 and I'm pretty sure the internal battery is dead but I can't get rid of it. At this point it's a sentimental treasure. My wife is going to play DQ3 remake because she thoroughly enjoys the soundtrack of DQ in general. Stay kacrackle out there.
@jesse_dylan I still own the cartridge. Just don't have a gameboy to play it on. I look forward to purchasing this one. Just won't be on the switch. It would be a nice touch to have version exclusive stuff but that's just my wish. Switch gets DQ1 gear, PS5 gets DQ2 gear, etc.
I am going to be so broke.... MH wilds, brother ship, prime 4, XCX, sparking zero.... plus switch successor. Easily dropping 700 bucks in a short period of time....
The source code statements make me wonder how the more technical folk on the Internet will scrutinize and ridicule their code if it's not immaculately written. I could see it as not good and bad. Good because they could optimize the hell out of it. Bad because it could shed light on how poorly it could run on the switch AND bolster claims of how sloppy they were when they released Scarlet/Violet.
@Yuna-Suzuki Ken vs Tarakatori. Sumapa 151 grand finals. YouTube it. I did say a tournament. I don't know if it's a huge well known tournament. I don't follow the competitive scene all that much.
I'm sticking with playstation 5 version as the PC one is set to include that denuvo annoyance and the switch version of 6 was a mess where I couldn't even do maps bigger than 4 players as it would crash frequently. Heck, even the PS4 version crashes, just not as frequently. I have doubts that 7 won't have similar problems given how ambitious the game is going to be.
@nessisonett why the gameplay? I don't see it being a problem unless your that hung up on being historically accurate. Granted, I haven't played humankind. I will admit that I'm disappointed they reduced it to 3 ages as opposed to the 9 eras. However I see that as a streamlining process. I also assume that the deep dive hinted at being able to stay in one age. I've found myself in civ6 wanting to stay in the ancient or classical era permanently
I still own the physical trilogy on gb/gbc. 3 was my favorite with the bonus content. I look forward to seeing what's new, what's the same and what's been changed. Heck, I might just replay 3 on an emulator again( sadly I don't have a GB anymore).
@Gameplay4fun ugh. How else am I supposed to play it without getting original hardware? I have the horsepower on my PC to run it if need be but would prefer to use my wallet. As for devils 3rd, I tried it, it felt clunky from what I remember. I did like the premise though.
@Angelic_Lapras_King yes. Bring back some nostalgia and give some forgotten titles another lease on life. XCX is my choice for a Wii u title that needs another chance now that the other two Xenoblade chronicle titles got their big break.
So we have positive UK news. I'm looking for US news now. My niece and I bought copies for ourselves and even my nephew who doesn't have a switch is going to get his own copy as soon as he can find one. They're sold out at my local targets. We had to preorder them at GameStop. So I'm blindly hoping for sales to exceed totals for the past 3 entries combined! Digital included.
@Anti-Matter martinet was fine as the video game voice. No problem there. I would probably find it grating if he spoke in full sentences for 90 minutes. I also wasn't a fan of Chris Pratt either as Mario. Everyone but Chris fit their respective rolls well in my opinion. Ill leave it at that.
@Anti-Matter I'm fine with the 30fps switch take. My old reflexes and eyes can't take 60fps anymore. I was 15 when it came out, I'll be sharing this game with my 3 kids and none of them are remotely proficient at video games like I was back then....as soon as I play it first, ha!
If I had to classify this as a genre, a few ideas:
Variety Sampler Genre Showcase Anthology Genre
Like the variety shows of old or even SNL skits as a more recent example, I'd say that fits what this game offers. as for my second suggestion, pretty sure showcase is self explanatory and the definition of anthology is a collection of works. It is what is is ultimately. A game to enjoy.
I haven't felt this this sense of loss since Robin williams died. Feels like Chunks of my childhood are dying, but at the very least, their legacies live on
Keep in mind people, these are the same execs that butchered the DCEU. Of course they don't learn. For every fortnite success, there are a dozens of live service failures and they don't care how many studios and developers they toss aside to get to that sweet sweet shareholder ROI
I've got DQ3 hd remake to look forward to whenever that releases. I've got ff7 rebirth, some steam games, PM TTYD remake and some 3DS entries to catch up on as well. No worries on my end.
@bluemage1989 interesting to see your take is that it's rubbish when compared to @PessitheMystic when the overall consensus online is that it's amazing/great. Different strokes for different folks I suppose. Nonetheless, I am hoping for a zero punctuation situation where all the devs and creative people leave in a grand exodus leaving those at the top screwed.

Re: Poll: How Much Internal Storage Would Be Reasonable For 'Switch 2'?
SSDs are dirt cheap nowadays. I assume memory technology could feasibly be on the cheap side for Nintendo, thus I think 500GB is doable.
