Reminder: Week-Long Tetris 99 Maximus Cup Sees The Return Of Three Themes

These in game ads (themes) are getting annoying. I just got the zelda one I want to use that for a while, gah. Give me a metroid theme and I'll be happy.

The themes are.... Nice, but you get tired of the same fricking background song that you have to listed every single time you play. Maybe they should ad a few more songs with each theme, that would be cool.

I missed out on these so I'll go for all 3 (took a break from Tetris 99 after the Fire Emblem one and returned for the Xenoblade one).

I missed out on all the themes for the game. Only got the Paper mario one last week as my first one so I will try and get theses ones if I remember.

So I guess they are out of themes? The game themes have mostly been kinda mediocre anyways.

@JayJ More than likely just stalling until they make a new theme event or an update for the game allowing for more themes.

@Torakaka I imagine they might do a Pikmin 3 theme, but maybe they need to update the game for more. It's been a long time since they last updated it.

@JayJ Or, the more likely awnser is that they are just holding an event for people who missed out. Because not everyone was able to grab those themes the first time around. They are definitely not out of ideas for themes, nor does the game need updating for more themes. This is simply just a way for people to grab these themes if they hadn't already.

I've got ⅔ of them. I guess I'll grind up the 50 points required for the Weeg House 3 theme.

Xenoblade is the only one I’ve got so this is great 🥳

@patbacknitro18 Well you can always buy them with tickets. That's how I got the Splatoon theme that I missed.

I'm dead bored of Tetris 99 and ticket farming. I got 100% of game themes, and only miss the 3 first 15 point ones now to have all themes ever in it.
If you own offline modes, you can get 4 tickets daily.

Really happy with this community. I come from the Spanish Nintendo community (Nintenderos), wich is toxic in every way. And the only news they had were rumors.
Is really good to find a Nintendo community that actually likes Nintendo stuff.

So far, I've managed to get every theme except for the Luigi's Mansion 3 one as my Switch was in for repair when that Maximus Cup was running. It's always annoyed me that there's that gap in between the themes I've unlocked. Finally, I can finish the collection

I always used the GameBoy Tetris theme. Was slick.

The other themes always felt a bit half baked to me.

I always got a theme out of these events through playing, so I got all 10 of them so far. So, I'm good.

@JayJ Since there is a rumor that we may get a Direct this month the possibility of an update could happen.

I really enjoy these events, but I already have every theme. What I’d REALLY like is a way to shuffle themes while playing! That’d be great. Hope there’s a Pikmin 3 theme in due time!

Too bad it's not the Kirby one as that is the only one I missed.

I already have all themes, but it's nice for people who missed them.

This is good! I will go for the ACNH as it was not relevant to me first time round.

It's quite nice collecting new themes, but I tend to stick with the Gameboy theme as it's nice and clean, and the music looping round and round forever doesn't bother me too much!

We have so many themes now, we need a random shuffle option now ...

this includes 2 of the ones I missed so I'm pumped.

I have them all already. I just can't get enough of this game. Was on a small roll a while back winning but lately I've been in some serious duels to only get to second place

Great, I missed Ring Fit Adventure's Theme. I thouth they could be obtained with in-game currency at some point, though.

It’d definitely be nice to get the Luigi’s Mansion and Ring Fit Adventure themes! So I’ll check this out

Stoked to finally be able to get the Luigi Mansion one. That’s the only one I’m missing. I love the themes, but I do think they could be more creative most of the time.

@RustedHero I’ve never got 1st either- it’s tough! Closest I’ve gotten is 3rd until a couple days ago I got 2nd... maybe one day I’ll maximus!

Think I have all the themes but will have to check as am not sure on Ring Fit Adventure.

@neogyo I apologize I didn't word it properly. I've gotten 1st 10 times. There was a massive gap from when the game was released to when I got my first win. The 2nd win and the rest came relatively a lot more often. I got better handling the tense situations especially when those damn things start falling like rocks. However, like what happens in pro sports I've been in a long slump lately.

@RustedHero ahh got ya, dam you must be good! Those last moments are key. The pressure is high and the trash comes so fast haha

What this game needs is a shuffle option. Everytime you play a new round a random theme appears.

Pokémon theme is the one I missed and unfortunately, it's can't be earned even if you farm for tickets...

After the last update and tickets, I never wanted to play Tetris 99 because of tickets. There not fun to collect, and just ruined the game for me. I think I will try to get the Ring Fit, and the Luigi one, but just because there exclusive, not because I want to. I got the Animal Crossing one, but after forcing my self to get it.

@Cosats @Skitrules @MajinSoul @AmplifyMJ, I will take any type of random shuffle, but it would be nice to have an option to exclude themes from the shuffle that you don’t like.

Got the animal crossing one earlier. Had the OG Tetris one but none others. The ticket thing is confusing.

I’ll grab the other two if I remember.
