The NES game is of my earliest memories in gaming. The nostalgia is so overwhelming for me that I simply had to revisit. But, yowza, that price tag! The price would’ve been more justifiable for me, personally, if the game had a completely redrawn, hand-animated remastered mode to go along with it, as a ‘Remastered’ tie-in.
But I bought it anyway, because my desire overpowered me. Curses!
I'm playing this game regardless (I'm that much of a hopeless Peach fan), but it'd be a fine bonus if this game happens to receive an overall decent reception.
Bah! Just this past weekend, I was crazy enough to drive a couple of hours to a major city (not round-trip, mind) just to watch a favorite movie in a theater. I'm not crazy enough to do the same for a beverage, unfortunately! Oh, Princess Peach, my beloved monarch, please forgive me. I humbly beg your forgiveness. You will always be the premiere, showstopping, spotlit leading lady in my life!
As I played this, I imagined my young child self from the early 1990s being so overjoyed to play as Princess Toadstool—er—Peach like this. 💖 Very cute, charming demo!
@garfreek Hey, I totally get you! I once compared myself to a smiling, tearful clown. So, hey. 🤡 I do like that case, though. I like some of the music, too.
@PinderSchloss I love your handle and avatar. I was just thinking of that movie!
An old friend of mine and I always wanted to at least try out the CD-i Zelda games, just for a laugh. I guess this upcoming game is the next best thing? We'll see.
@Switcher2023 Oh, yeah! I've played both of the original games, and while I understand that the second game on the Wii was very slow-paced, I vibed with it just fine. I do like Ashley a lot, and I'm really excited for when I can finally play the remakes!
I’m picking up my copy tomorrow. Criticisms of molasses-esque pacing, while understandable and justified, only make me go, “Yeah, that’s Another Code, all right!”
Right now, I'm most curious about how cutscenes are handled. Like, will it use the same FMVs, even in this remastering? Will the original recorded voices be present?
I played Rayman 3 on the GBA in a camping trip. I never played the ‘real’ version of Rayman 3, but the GBA version was like a direct sequel to the first Rayman, gameplay-wise. Completely unrelated to gaming, that was the same trip when I first read “The Great Gatsby”, so I’ve always lumped Rayman and F. Scott Fitzgerald together, in my mind.
I've been a very big Princess Peach/Toadstool fan my whole life. My good buddies know this, and when we played Wonder, they asked me how I felt about Elephant Peach, Slime Peach, Balloon Peach, etc.
I said that I feel like the lover of a romantic partner, in a horror movie, and my partner has been transformed into a werewolf, or some monstrosity. I'd hold Peach's hands (or slime?) and say, "It's okay. I still love you. We can get through this." I'd clench my eyes shut, tilt my head down, and cry, but I'd mean every word. "We'll get through this. I'm still here, by your side."
Then I concluded my rambling jokes to my friends with, "Nah, it's all good. Princess Peach works in mysterious ways."
Personal opinion here: Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law is better than any of these Ace Attorney games--yowza, I can't type that with a straight face! Though it would be surprising if that game was re-released!
I'm excited! I never played an Ace Attorney game I disliked, and I was surprised how much I really enjoyed Spirit of Justice, despite some flaws. I pre-ordered my physical copy of this collection. Meanwhile, I personally wish the Investigations games would get enhanced ports/remade for the West, simply because I've never played Investigations 2.
@XiaoShao As I type this, I'm literally looking at that Layton crossover's cover art, which I have framed on my wall! That game holds a special place in my heart!
Style Savvy: Trendsetters is, honestly, one of my top favorite 3DS games, regarding enjoyment and nostalgia. I enjoyed the Style Savvy games very much, and I guess I wanted Fashion Dreamer to be like that series, but in HD! And (if desired) on the TV! Based on this review and others, no, this isn't what I'm looking for. Ah, well! Maybe if the price goes down drastically.
Happy 18th Birthday, NintendoLife! 🎂 I can date when I first learned about this site (via a podcast). It was when The Calling on the Wii was coming out. I’ve followed this site since, which happens to be one of my primary sources for Nintendo news!
So, like Jacob Marley, "This game was dead, to begin with." Heh. Actually, I so want to play this game, but I can't abide the bugs. Yeah, I'll sit this out and wait for patches that will (hopefully) make this playable.
If one is very lousy at typing on the keyboard, Mario Teaches Typing is brutal!
In seriousness, I’ll also chime in on Lost Levels and Sunshine. 3D World’s Champion Road was a vicious beast that I eventually tamed with all characters (Yikes!), and a casual gamer friend of mine is having a devil of a time with Galaxy 2.
I got the first Detective Pikachu on my 3DS, but I don’t think I’ll replay it if I get Returns. Will I get the sequel? Well, I’m still tackling The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, and I got some other games in queue. Maybe someday, but not now.
Well! This takes me back to the high school days when I'd sneakily play a Newgrounds game in computer class. I had the GameCube version, but I'd be more than curious to get this on Switch, if the price is right!
I met Mr. Martinet once, and he was so kind. Very warm and funny. This news affected me, but, as long as it was his decision, I'm happy for him and his further ventures!
Let's see. In the 1990s, I played an arcade game that had a top-down perspective of the violent action, and, sometimes, the playable character would get launched upward toward the camera, with a gaping hole in his abdomen. For some bizarre reason, I never figured out the name of that game, even with Google searches. Or I simply didn't dig deep enough. Ah, well!
For the Sega Genesis, there was a cartoony strategy game where you played as a (again, cartoony) general, and there were museum-esque busts of said generals eventually. I think.
One more, also for the Genesis! A possibly isometric-perspective CIA/some kind of special forces agent game that had a level involving a limousine that you had to protect.
Yeah, I got a few, heh. To give an example of a game that used to be "ungoogable" to me yet I eventually figured it out: Mixed-Up Mother Goose, a computer game.
Many years ago, I was part of a selfmade RPG with a group of friends. To make a long story short, at one time, Sailor Mars battled with the Great Mighty Poo. Ah, those were the days!
Back on topic. If this was within my budget, I’d have strongly considered it. I was a big Conker fan back then. Alas, I’ll save the promotional images and leave it at that!
Of all the things and facts demonstrated in this video, this got me misty-eyed nostalgic over Lemmings. My gosh, I haven't touched a Lemmings game in a very long time, but that launched me back to computer rooms in schools! Also, I'm now curious about that The Flash game... but curious enough to pay the general price I see on eBay. Good warning!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd March)
Princess Peach: Showtime! is my tribute to high school theatre classes. And boss fights with disco birds.

Yeah, I’ll have… one of every single Peach icon. Please and thank you!

@PinderSchloss After all, you are a doctor!

The only trouble I had was the motion puzzle, where I had to slide a key out. Maybe it was my Pro Controller, but switching to handheld mode helped.
