Re: Review: Felix The Cat (Switch) - A Cute But Costly Clowder

MagicEmperor

The NES game is of my earliest memories in gaming. The nostalgia is so overwhelming for me that I simply had to revisit. But, yowza, that price tag! The price would’ve been more justifiable for me, personally, if the game had a completely redrawn, hand-animated remastered mode to go along with it, as a ‘Remastered’ tie-in.

But I bought it anyway, because my desire overpowered me. Curses!

Re: Surprise! Princess Peach: Showtime! Is Getting A "Limited-Time" Kung Fu Tea Collaboration

MagicEmperor

Bah! Just this past weekend, I was crazy enough to drive a couple of hours to a major city (not round-trip, mind) just to watch a favorite movie in a theater. I'm not crazy enough to do the same for a beverage, unfortunately! Oh, Princess Peach, my beloved monarch, please forgive me. I humbly beg your forgiveness. You will always be the premiere, showstopping, spotlit leading lady in my life!

Re: Switch Online's 'Missions & Rewards' Adds Super Mario Bros. Wonder Icons

MagicEmperor

I've been a very big Princess Peach/Toadstool fan my whole life. My good buddies know this, and when we played Wonder, they asked me how I felt about Elephant Peach, Slime Peach, Balloon Peach, etc.

I said that I feel like the lover of a romantic partner, in a horror movie, and my partner has been transformed into a werewolf, or some monstrosity. I'd hold Peach's hands (or slime?) and say, "It's okay. I still love you. We can get through this." I'd clench my eyes shut, tilt my head down, and cry, but I'd mean every word. "We'll get through this. I'm still here, by your side."

Then I concluded my rambling jokes to my friends with, "Nah, it's all good. Princess Peach works in mysterious ways."

Re: Feature: "We Were Aware Of The Fans' Wishes" - Rescuing The 3DS Games For Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy

MagicEmperor

Personal opinion here: Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law is better than any of these Ace Attorney games--yowza, I can't type that with a straight face! Though it would be surprising if that game was re-released!

I'm excited! I never played an Ace Attorney game I disliked, and I was surprised how much I really enjoyed Spirit of Justice, despite some flaws. I pre-ordered my physical copy of this collection. Meanwhile, I personally wish the Investigations games would get enhanced ports/remade for the West, simply because I've never played Investigations 2.

@XiaoShao As I type this, I'm literally looking at that Layton crossover's cover art, which I have framed on my wall! That game holds a special place in my heart!

Re: Review: Fashion Dreamer - Some Decent Dress-Up, But Lacks Style Savvy's Depth

MagicEmperor

Style Savvy: Trendsetters is, honestly, one of my top favorite 3DS games, regarding enjoyment and nostalgia. I enjoyed the Style Savvy games very much, and I guess I wanted Fashion Dreamer to be like that series, but in HD! And (if desired) on the TV! Based on this review and others, no, this isn't what I'm looking for. Ah, well! Maybe if the price goes down drastically.

Re: Site News: Nintendo Life Turns 18 Today

MagicEmperor

Happy 18th Birthday, NintendoLife! 🎂 I can date when I first learned about this site (via a podcast). It was when The Calling on the Wii was coming out. I’ve followed this site since, which happens to be one of my primary sources for Nintendo news!

Re: Talking Point: What's The Most Difficult Mainline Mario Game?

MagicEmperor

If one is very lousy at typing on the keyboard, Mario Teaches Typing is brutal!

In seriousness, I’ll also chime in on Lost Levels and Sunshine. 3D World’s Champion Road was a vicious beast that I eventually tamed with all characters (Yikes!), and a casual gamer friend of mine is having a devil of a time with Galaxy 2.

Re: Memory Pak: Making Contact With The "Ungoogleable" Game I Couldn't Quite Remember

MagicEmperor

Let's see. In the 1990s, I played an arcade game that had a top-down perspective of the violent action, and, sometimes, the playable character would get launched upward toward the camera, with a gaping hole in his abdomen. For some bizarre reason, I never figured out the name of that game, even with Google searches. Or I simply didn't dig deep enough. Ah, well!

For the Sega Genesis, there was a cartoony strategy game where you played as a (again, cartoony) general, and there were museum-esque busts of said generals eventually. I think.

One more, also for the Genesis! A possibly isometric-perspective CIA/some kind of special forces agent game that had a level involving a limousine that you had to protect.

Yeah, I got a few, heh. To give an example of a game that used to be "ungoogable" to me yet I eventually figured it out: Mixed-Up Mother Goose, a computer game.

Re: First 4 Figures Unveils 'The Great Mighty Poo' From Conker's Bad Fur Day

MagicEmperor

Many years ago, I was part of a selfmade RPG with a group of friends. To make a long story short, at one time, Sailor Mars battled with the Great Mighty Poo. Ah, those were the days!

Back on topic. If this was within my budget, I’d have strongly considered it. I was a big Conker fan back then. Alas, I’ll save the promotional images and leave it at that!
