Asking me how long I've been aware of The Legend of Zelda is just like asking how long I've been aware of the sky. It was just always there in my life. I grew up with the NES and knew about Mario and Link & Zelda before I had learned, well, how to do math.
Happy anniversary, The Legend of Zelda. Your "Dungeon Theme" will always be in my heart.
I remember seeing the cover art for Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, but I never played it. I occasionally remembered it. Maybe my decades-old curiosity will finally push me into playing it.
Sorry, couldn't resist! The thing is, I was one of MN9's backers, and I got my copy for the Wii U. I found it, frankly, unplayable, so I moved on and just never really looked back.
I unearthed three GameCube games from the labyrinthine family storage: Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, and Scooby-Doo: Night of 100 Frights. I got very close to beating the third playthrough of ED, and was near the end of Gauntlet, but I somehow fell off them. They got stored 20+ years ago. So, I’ve beaten them after all these years!
I even started Scooby-Doo/Frights, which is new to me. Ree-hee-hee-hee!
The music's pretty catchy, and the trailer looks like a clusterribbit in a charming way. I'll check out the demo! It's a shame what Headcannon had to go through, though.
@HammerGalladeBro I would definitely love to play Alice no Paint Adventure by Epoch, using the Nintendo Switch 2's mouse function. I still remember music from that Donald Duck game!
Well, better late than never, even if the Disney Collection's tardiness is obscene. I'll get it for my Switch 2, but I really hope the base collection gets updated with new titles!
Some friends and I finally got around to playing this, and it’s so much fun! We had a blast pointing out the bosses. Now we’ll work our way back to Turtles in Time.
This was a super pleasant surprise! Unfortunately, this was the only game in the Survivor Trilogy I've played, so I'm hoping to catch up finally, should the sequels hit Switch 2!
Although I'm such a big LucasArts buff, and I've played many a Sierra game, I confess that the Simon the Sorcerer games have completely blindsided me. I've known about the name for a long time, so I think I'll check this out since it's a prequel, and work my way into the original series!
I really wanted to love this game, but love it I did not. There’s no question that the visuals are astonishingly gorgeous, and that the music and voice acting support a truly heartfelt story. But the bugs and glitches I frequently dealt with really tried my patience. This doesn’t feel like a case of solid gameplay having great visuals; this instead feels like they created amazing animation and realized they had to tack on lacking gameplay, and I say this as a Clock Tower fan.
With all of that having been said, and despite the fact that I would personally give this game a 6 out of 10, the story and visuals made it worth it for me. I may be disappointed with Bye Sweet Carole, but I’m glad I got to meet Mr. Baesie!
If Nintendo wants to flex their CG animation, then by gum, let them flex! It’s a very cute and sweet short, but if I was the mother, I’d wonder how the pacifier ended up there.
I do want to get the bundle eventually, but I can wait. I’d rather play some games I haven’t played before, currently. I mean, I played the Galaxy games and 100%’d them before!
Layton: "Now, Luke... A true gentleman doesn't throw a tantrum when something you desire is delayed." Luke: "I'm sorry, Professuh, but I guess I'm not a true gentleman! Aaarggh!"
Not surprising! I'd rather they take their time instead of rushing. The new trailer is stunning, and the rap is an unexpected choice. Still, I really hope the game has 2D cutscenes.
Adorable piece. :') I'm cold on the movie when I watch it with a 'film analysis class' mindset, but enjoy it if I take it as a 'Mario references buffet.'
I was babysitting a friend's kid, who loves the movie dearly. I let her play with my Mario toys, and was surprised when she had 'Bowser' say, "Mario!! You ruined everything! I was finally going to be happy!! Now you'll suffer, like MEEEEE!!"
I agree, the Emerald Rush mode is fun, for a while, but the way they handled DK Island is an abject disappointment. I bought the DLC, but I did something particularly obnoxious to my curious friends: I told them, "There are complete video games you could get right now for $20."
I played the original way back on DS, when I had downtime while traveling abroad. I have fond memories, and I'll always love one of the 'battle' music themes, so I think this Immortal Edition will finally convince me to replay it!
I'm excited! I always get excited with Partnership Showcase Directs when I really don't know what to expect at all, so I have no expectations! I just really want the Switch 2 to have good third-party support. If Metaphor comes to Switch 2, I can finally see what my friends have been gushing about. I've never played Metaphor, but I never met a phor I didn't like!
@Uncle_Franklin Yeah. "Professor Layton and the Elusive Release Date."
I will forever remember Tales of the Shire best as the game that was revealed in a Nintendo Direct, which I was "Meh" about, only to be followed by the surprise that was Ace Attorney Investigations Collection, which made me loudly whoop and holler. So, Shire will always live in my mind with that positive memory, at least!
Yeah, the trailer never grabbed me, and I didn't like how it looked. After reading the review and seeing that screenshot of Gandalf (yipes!), I think I'll just go back to whining about not having second breakfast.
@KociolekDoSyta A very brief "Aquatic Ambience" motif is in "68. New Donk City," but it's only for a few seconds. Otherwise, no, there's no full-blown standalone rendition of that masterpiece in Bananza.
In anticipation of Donkey Kong: Bananza, I've been taking a trip back to Super Mario Odyssey. I'm not doing a new playthrough, but I'm just having li'l brief visits from world to world for nostalgic trips. I even went back to the Dark + Darker Sides of the Moon.
Besides that, Cyberpunk is going to be a slow-burning candle for me. I'll take my time with it!
Cyberpunk is the game that's been knocking my socks off, yeah. It's what I've been showing to my friends when they ask me how Switch 2 compares to the predecessor.
I’m actually glad this doesn’t include the game. I would’ve been slightly annoyed if I had to pay for the game all over again, having already bought two copies of the Remastered Collection!
I’m now frantically (in a good way) looking around to see where I’ll hang up that cloth poster.
If this is another stepping stone that gets us closer to someday checking into Hotel Dusk, I'm all for it. I'm a long-time fan of Kanasaki, so I'll keep tabs on this.
I prefer movie credits format: “Composed by, Words by, Performed by…” So even old songs or melodies given new treatment make it clear who’s credited for what.
Yeah, I tested out Clock Tower: Rewind and it no longer looks like my TV’s possessed by a poltergeist! Very good! Oddly enough, even though Felix the Cat was long on that problematic list, it worked just fine when I booted it up on my Switch 2, launch night.
They finally added characters from my favorite film, Alice in Wonderland, so I’m happy as can be with the game (roster-wise). I play the game on PC, though.
