Having just finished a game, I find myself at a game crossroads. “Take any road you want” And like the old man offering Link three staircases, my choices are three as well: DK Bananza, Majora’s Mask 3D, Metroid II Return of Samus.
I want a list of 50 of the worst SNES games from an established game site like NL. The games on this list have been discussed for years, I wanna talk about games like Liberty or Death, Ka-blooey, and Super Caesar's Palace.
@maxz I agree, "It releases" isn't great. But I'll take it any day over "ask" being used as a noun, as in "that's a big ask from Game Freak" or the up and coming phrase "on accident" instead of the more traditional "by accident".
I just wish it all felt more exciting. There's a blah-ness to Switch 2 so far, but I can't really put my finger on why. It's obviously not sales numbers, or the games' positive receptions, but something is ever so slightly off.
Disney Illusion Island is currently free to play until 11/4 with NSO. So far, I’m liking it. It’s much more Disney than I was expecting which further sets it apart from other Metroidvanias.
Now in the post game, I’m hoping to find the remaining few Battle and Thing stickers left to complete what I’ve been calling my “Sticker Dex” in Paper Mario Sticker Star. Filling the Sticker Museum with 150 unique stickers, some of which can even be evolved, kinda feels like another well-known game series…
I’m near the end game of Paper Mario Sticker Star so I’ll most likely “stick” with it until the credits roll.
Elsewhere it’s kind of a hodgepodge this weekend: a little Metroid II via Crankboy, some Newer Super Mario Bros Wii, and I’ve been wanting to jump back into Breath of the Wild and finally finish the last few Shrine side quests.
I had to remind myself that this was a Partner and not an Indie showcase; especially by the time we made it to the "Chillin' by the Fire"... but the last two games from SE bumped the entire presentation up in my mind.
Paper Mario Sticker Star continues to hold my interest now for a second weekend. If this weren't a PM game, I think it would have done much better. With so little Paper Mario DNA, I can see why it was (and maybe still is) such a despised entry. But, as a quirky puzzler with more depth than I expected, I'm rather enjoying my time with it.
New(er) Super Mario Bros. Wii - It does get better after the first world. For me the draw of playing this was different levels which so far, that's exactly what it is.
Our household has three Switches: the OG we bought in 2017 and two Lites purchased for various journeys, side quests, and other games that didn’t need the large screen setup. I suspect all of this will remain in place for a while. Personally, I still have plenty of backlog content to keep me happy. But, I’ve already decided that one game on that list shall be experienced with a shiny new Switch 2. And…maybe that will be the push to upgrade.
Metroid. But it’ll be a coin toss will decide which system (and subsequently which Metroid) I travel with this weekend. Heads is Switch Lite. Tails is 3DS XL.
Exciting to hear but... I don't just want Super Mario Odyssey 2 for the Nintendo Switch 2. Instead, I want [insert new Mario 3D game I know nothing about] for the NS2!
With the news of Switch 2 this week, I’ve decided to honor the Wii with an unofficial Wii Weekend. Which will translate into my playing: NSMB Wii, Cave Story, and a puzzle or two in Toki Tori.
7/10 - would have been an 8 for me, but there were too many technical issues with the presentation. The audio was off and during the 2nd partner showcase, the video froze. It distracted and took away from the announcements. I am, however, super excited for the new DK!
It started strong and felt like it had somewhere to go. But after MP4, it wandered, overstayed its welcome, and caused any excitement that might have been building to falter. We should have been grinning ear to ear when Miyamoto popped in, instead it was confusing and just plain random.
I'm excited for next week and Switch 2, but was slightly more excited yesterday before this presentation.
It’ll be a Nintendo DS weekend to celebrate its 20. Gunna pick only from one of these three: n+, Prince of Persia: The Fallen King, or Professor Layton and the Curious Village.
A few months ago, during a rainstorm, I found a 1993 21" Zenith CRT on the side of the road. I let it dry out for 3 weeks! When I finally plugged it in and turned it on, I found it to be in perfect working condition. I hooked my Atari 5200 to it. And now, my quest continues to buy more games for the 5200. Currently at 7/69...
I’m about 15 hours into BotW for the first time. I just finished climbing a tower with thorns to unlock some of the map, and now I’m in a shrine freezing time to get a ball to fall off a conveyor belt and into a hole.
Castlevania III sounds great on the Famicom, but I can't agree about Castlevania II. There's just too much nostalgia with the NES version clouding my perception. Maybe I'll play that this weekend!
Maybe - because something like this, once the Switch successor is on the market, might help drive late sales of the Switch itself. And those sales might be important in finally toppling the PS2 as the best selling console of all time. Nintendo Select discounts on really popular games may convince people who don't yet own a Switch to buy one instead of the shiny new successor.
The Phantom Hourglass. I’m slowly making my way through it. And it’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just I don’t feel like the world has drawn me into it yet. So it’s easy to do some little piece and then walk away from it.
Been taking my time on the main story. Two weeks in and I just defeated the pirate robot to get the bow and arrows in Skyward Sword HD. I kinda like how a staple of the Zelda series like the bow is gotten later in the game and the cool new items like the beetle were up first. Hope to play more this weekend. I do have that cross country flight tomorrow morning…
Yesterday I woke the Wind Fish and I’m wanting more Zelda. So I just now started a new save file in Skyward Sword HD. I never finished it and while I could pick up where I left off, it’s been long enough where I want to experience it all from go.

Re: Poll: What Do You Make Of Link And Zelda's Live-Action Looks?
I just want an Easter egg reference to Link with pink hair. Even if it’s as quick as the Luigi’s Mansion music cue in the Super Mario Bros. Movie.

short and sweet! (and better than the Partner's showcase)

I’ll be alternating between the last of the mini games (mangoes and horses) on Echoes of Wisdom, and Paper Mario Sticker Star.

Toki Tori 2+. Quite the underrated and hidden gem of a Metroidvania.

Just started Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon.

@gamergirl4 - I said the exact same thing last night about my switch and the backlog of games I still have.
Re: Nintendo Is Developing New Mobile Game Apps, Unsurprisingly
Sure! Gimme more options… I’ll at least give them a try. But don’t blame an iOS game on why that new Switch 2 game has to be delayed 😜
Re: Nintendo Music Adds Classic Super Mario SNES Soundtrack, Here's Every Song Included
Special World (Map Screen) @ 1:57 - I still remember discovering this purely by accident back on my SNES. Would have been Summer of ‘92. ☺️😌
Re: Poll: So, What Did You Think Of The Switch 2 Reveal?
I do appreciate the updated (upgraded?) sound for Switch2. Now it’s more click than snap.

I've played the original Dragon Warrior on the NES. Should I play Dragon Warrior (Dragon Quest) 2 before this one?

Phantom Hourglass on my 2DS-XL. First time playing it and I'm liking it so far but it's still early - my hourglass only has 12:00.
