Re: Nintendo Shares Drop Following Latest Reports Of Switch 2 'Delay'

Logicfire

Are the investors who sold their shares of Nintendo the same ones investing in Sony? Maybe that’s why Sony is already hinting at a PS6 dropping sooner than later.

Sad that the industry is turning into such a mess. Feels to me like this unraveling isn’t even over yet. Just look at what harm a rumor can do.

Re: Xbox Game Pass Really Isn't Coming To Nintendo Switch

IMO, Microsoft changed their mind after rumor speculation painted a non-exclusive Game Pass negatively. Did they really need a podcast episode just to not name 4 games and hint at new hardware? Idk maybe they did but the presentation felt more like damage control than anything else.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Metroid

Nostalgia carries this one for me all the way. North America/UK. It’s the box with the Adventure Series logo and was the very very first video game I owned when I got my NES for Christmas way back in the dark ages of 1987.

@dartmonkey I really, and really, and really wanted to like that book. As a gamer who grew up in the NES/Oregon Trail era, and remembers Magic Eye posters out in the wild, there was something a bit off about Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow’s history being firmly, and correctly, rooted in that timeframe. As a result I couldn’t dive in. A good story no question, maybe even a great story, but of the 50+ books I read this year, it’s not in my top 10.

Re: Pokémon's COO Wants To Keep Franchise Going For "Hundreds Of Years"

Know when a band gets a new member and their sound just goes in a different direction? Like when Dave Navarro joined the Chili Peppers on “One Hot Minute.” Yea, something like this in a Pokémon game, I think, mostly, would be a different game developer.. It would branch out with brand new ideas, and if done right, could add years or even decades to the IP’s relevance.

Re: Talking Point: Which Version Of Super Mario Bros. 3 Do You Prefer?

Logicfire

For an added challenge, I do like the Japanese Famicom version. Visually it’s the same as the NES so maybe why it’s not differentiated here. Taking damage as Fire or Raccoon Mario (or any other type power up) reduces you back to Mario rather than Super Mario. It’s significantly harder especially later in the game.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct Showcase?

Logicfire

Still can’t wait for Wonder to be released! Great presentation and use of time to show off the game. As for the Direct Showcase itself, well I would have preferred an introduction to Mario’s new VA rather than the introduction of yet another OLED variant.

Edit: Never mind. I just remembered we get to learn about the VA in the credits of the game.

@RobynAlecksys I’ve been following the drama with BG3 and feature parity between XSX and XSS. Seems MS did a 180 on their stance and now the S could/should be considered somewhat less than current generation hardware. (Assuming precedent is set here which admittedly could go either way.)
I see MS and its hardware as trying real hard to compete. And it does have its hardcore followers, especially here in the US. I’m not one of them but if nothing else as a non XBox/MS fan, they provided some good entertainment this year with the acquisition of ABZ trials and now the decision to drop feature parity on XSS simply because one game may prove to be worth this short-term win.
