Pretty expensive for what it is, but the NES cart alone goes for over $100, so I guess it's a good deal? Personally, I'm not curious enough to buy it until it goes on sale, though. I don't see spending more than $15 on this thing.

@KoopaTheGamer same. Micro Mages is fun for sure, but I kinda think it’s the weakest game on the cart. Weird to me that they push that one as the “big deal” game.

Great article. I have the Morphcat Evercade cart, and it’s one of my favorites. I typically prefer the real retro games over indie games when it comes to Evercade, but man, a good collection is a good collection. Bobl in particular is a favorite.

Definitely a “must own” game.

I’m a huge SteamWorld fan, and I will never buy it. Not my kind of game.

I've been really looking forward to this since it was first announced (and I thought it had a release date then, too?). Really looks like my kind of game. I picked up qomp 1 on Steam a few weeks ago to prepare, and man...it's a fun little game. I think I'm gonna love this.

I'm not a physical guy, but man...these are excellent games. I'm glad more people are going to get to play them! This is great news.

I’ve sold/traded in a ton…mainly because I decided to go almost all-digital after I already bought a bunch of physical games. Many of them were replaced with digital versions, but not all.

@BoilerBroJoe Agreed! I like the service. I think it's reasonably priced, I like being able to play things that I otherwise wouldn't have tried, all that...but if I could pay a few extra bucks to be able to keep individual games "forever", that'd be way better. Who knows, maybe they'll give us the option down the road. Makes sense that they'd prefer to just keep the subscriptions going for now.

The demo was great, and I’m really excited to play it! Just not excited enough to play start it before playing through Another Code and at least one Apollo Justice game. But hey-maybe it will have gone on sale by the time I’m ready for it.

I'm a big fan of this series. Yars, Black Widow and Quantum are my favorites, but they're all worth playing.

And hey, how about Mr. Run and Jump? It's my favorite game of 2023. Of course, nobody else in the world would say that, but darn it, I like it. Best platformer I've played in years. The 2600 version is really good too!

I have absolutely no interest in this genre, but I love the SteamWorld games.

Absolutely. I'm all in on digital. I've even been selling a bunch of my physical games to get digital versions instead. I'm honestly just not that worried about all that "doomsday" stuff. Seems like something that won't be a problem for a LONG time, and even then, only if my console breaks AND I still care about playing the games at that point.

Digital is more convenient, takes up less physical space, and is just a click away (until it isn't, of course). I like those benefits.

Man, I'm excited about this. I loved Trace Memory (though I don't remember a thing about it), and I always wanted to play the Wii game, but it never came to NA. This is awesome. Probably my favorite announcement of the Direct.

I have no issue with the price, I just don’t care about the game. Would gladly pay $50 for a game in a similar situation if it appealed to me.

I've tried a bunch of times over the last 3 decades+, but I could never get it to work. Doesn't really sound interesting enough to put any more effort in, to be honest. I'm content just being aware of it.

I was very excited to check this out when it was first announced, but then they announced that Sunsoft collection for Evercade. Gonna play it there instead. Anyway, nice review! Looking forward to it.

I'm sure the game is fun enough. Like the last one, though, I feel like the biggest problem is there are way better multiplayer/party games on the system. I actually played a lot of 1-2-Switch until Mario Kart, Splatoon, etc. came out. It was silly fun, and I loved that even non-gamers could get in on it.

Anyway, I'll pass for now. Maybe I'll buy it if I have the right people coming over some night, but eh. We'd probably just play Jackbox.

Always wanted to play this game. I had a pretty darn good time with the demo and went ahead and preordered a physical copy from Play-Asia (and I don't really care about physical copies most of the time). Pretty much assuming I'll love it as a huge Ace Attorney fan. Great to see such a positive review.

@skeets agreed! I was going to say the same thing. I played Galaxy on both Wii and Switch (motion controls) recently and it’s not even close for me-Switch is way better. Very surprising to see so many people disagree.

I mean, I don't expect anything TOO crazy, but I definitely expect some decent stuff. I see no reason why they would have released Advance Wars and the XC3 DLC right before Zelda if they didn't have much for the second half of the year.

I think a new 2D Mario is just about a sure thing. Really surprising to me that they didn't announce one right around the launch of the movie. Other than that, who knows. It'd be nice to see Metroid Prime 4 and a new F-Zero, but that may be asking a lot.

I'm like 40 hours in and not even close to beating it. It's still the main game I'm working on, but I'm starting to take breaks every few days to play other stuff (nothing major, just like, pick up and play games). It'll probably be months before I'm done.

I agree with you. TOTK is a fantastic game. Mind-blowing, really. My only complaint, really, is that it’s not clicking with me quite like BOTW did, and this is a big reason for that. It’s definitely a personal preference.

First one was fun enough. Biggest issues were a) the price and b) better multiplayer games came out not long after it was released. In a total vacuum, it's pretty fun-especially since it's good for people who typically wouldn't play video games too.

I'm intrigued by the smart device thing, too. Are they trying to go more Jackbox style?

I don't know. I could see picking it up if reviews are decent. Probably not, though.

I’m in for 1, 4 and 6 when they go on sale. As a guy who rarely plays JRPGs, I attempted all 3 as a kid but gave up really early on. Unfinished business with those 3. Maybe the QoL improvements will help me get through them.

I’m certainly not trying to say it’s a GOOD thing when releases like this come out, but I’ll admit that if I were interested in the game I’d buy this instead of going to the eShop. Might as well get a free backup case that I could use for something else. Some of mine are kinda dinged up.

Switch Online. I know there are purists out there, but personally, I will always take the version with save states and other conveniences over original hardware. Plus, I mean, my Switch is always hooked up (unlike my NES Classic and Wii U), the portability, and the wireless NES controllers, and yeah-that’s the best way.

I do really like the Game & Watch, but I can’t choose a version that doesn’t connect to a TV. I’m more of a console gamer.

I loved this game. Played through it on my phone (and I NEVER play mobile games...but I wanted to check it out after loving Guacamelee) and again on Switch. Highly recommended!

@Serpenterror I get why they are listing them that high, I don’t get why anybody would pay it. It makes no sense, you could save money and get more in the end, while still being able to play now and own a physical copy.

I’m struggling to understand why anybody would pay a scalper $80 or more. Even if you MUST play it now, and you MUST own it physically, just download it now then buy a physical copy when it’s back in stock. Are they really selling at these prices?
