Re: Star Wars Video Games Join Forces Under Lucasfilm Games

Krambo42

@Elvie The way Lucas was supposedly treated/misled does seem kinda questionable...but eh, who knows what really happened/was said. All I know is, there has been a ridiculous amount of what is in my opinion very solid content ever since Disney bought Star Wars, and it’s only gonna get better. I’ll take Rebels,
Mandalorian, 5 films, a bunch of great books/comics, Fallen Order, Squadrons, and I guess Galaxy’s Edge even though it isn’t really my thing, not to mention all the other announced stuff over whatever the heck we got between Revenge of the Sith and the Disney purchase. Clone Wars (which is great) and what, Angry Birds Star Wars? I know it was a bit more than that...but man, nothing like this. I couldn’t be happier with the Disney era so far.

Re: Poll: DOOM Eternal Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?

Krambo42

As a big fan of Doom 2016 (which surprised me-I’m not much of a shooter guy), I was pretty pumped to play this, and I was planning on getting it on Switch...but then I tried it on Gamepass. I stopped playing before I even beat the first level. I could already tell I wouldn’t like it. Oh well. Hope it’s a good port and that everybody who gets it has fun with it!

Re: Feature: Best Visual Novels For Nintendo Switch

Krambo42

Ace Attorney has been one of my favorite series since the DS. I really hope more games (new and old) are coming to Switch. The original trilogy is the best, but man, I love them all.

Somebody from Nintendo Life should just play Florence, by the way. It takes like 45 minutes. Absolutely belongs on this list.

Re: Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron Is Back Launches This Month, Both As An Update And A New Release

Krambo42

I don’t normally complain about price, and I don’t normally care about online gaming, but the only way I’d consider paying $40 for this is if I could play online with my buddy I played the original Bubble Bobble with as a kid. I don’t doubt that it’s worth it, I’m sure it’s a great game...it’s just not what I personally need it to be. Nice update, though!

Re: Every Switch Star Wars Game Is Currently On Sale, But You'll Have To Be Quick

Krambo42

@NathanTheAsian I agree. What I meant is,
I don’t really care that we’re not getting them myself. FO was boring and Squadrons doesn’t appeal to me. Battlefront isn’t my thing either. I’m actually way happier with SW Pinball, Lego SW and older games than I’d be with the EA stuff. I mean, it’d be nice to get more new games, but I don’t really feel that Switch is missing out based on what’s going on out there. As long as EA has the license for “games for the core audience” or whatever the deal is, eh.

Re: Every Switch Star Wars Game Is Currently On Sale, But You'll Have To Be Quick

Already have all of these except Jedi Academy, but I’m also getting Academy, Outcast and Racer from LRG for some reason, so I guess I’ll hold off, temping as it is to get it for $10. No clue why I bought those, I don’t even care about physical games. I guess it was more the Star Wars collector in me than the gamer!

Anyway, as others have said, I really hope more classic Star Wars games are coming to Switch. I’d love the Super Star Wars trilogy, Shadows of the Empire, the Rogue Squadron trilogy (and Battle for Naboo) and Clone Wars. The NES games and Bounty Hunter? Eh, I’d buy them, but I’m not as into them. And those are just games from Nintendo consoles! KOTOR would be pretty rad. Keep ‘em coming!

Hmm, maybe I should pick up Academy...help show that there’s interest in these games on Switch...

Re: Control's eShop Page Reminds Us About Harsh Realities Of A Cloud-Based Future

Krambo42

Doesn’t bother me. I don’t need to own every game I ever play until the end of time. I honestly think it’s kinda weird that so many people make such a big deal out of it. No, it’s not ideal, but how is it different than going to a movie, concert or sporting event? Actually, cloud games last way longer. How is it different than getting an online multiplayer game that goes away when the server goes down? I wouldn’t want every game to be a cloud game, and I hope this is reserved for only games that truly would not be port-able, but I don’t think it’s so bad getting some of the more demanding games this way.

I don’t know, this game ownership thing...I don’t quite get it. I replay a bunch of old games, but if I no longer have access to one, I repurchase it, get it on new hardware or forget about it. Far from the end of the world. We’re talking about $50 or so video games, not $100k houses. It’s ok if you only have several years to play some of your games. I really don’t see why this is taken so seriously.

I’m on board, especially as the other consoles move in to the next generation. I’d certainly rather spend $500 on ten next gen games on the cloud than on a PS5 without any games. But that’s me-I don’t care about Sony/MS exclusives, and clearly I care less about game ownership than others.

Re: Talking Point: Cloud Gaming On Switch – The Pros And Cons Of The Cloud

Krambo42

I don’t mind the concept at all. If we can get more games on Switch, especially big AAA stuff as we move into the next generation of the other consoles, that’s fantastic. Also, they take up like no memory, which is good.

I do hope, though, that developers don’t get lazy and start doing this for EVERY game. It should be reserved for only the games that are the hardest to port.

As far as these being “rentals” goes? Bah. I don’t need to own every game I ever play until the end of time. Plus, lots of games “go away”’ when the server goes down (like, online multiplayer games), this is no different.

I do have some concerns. Pricing doesn’t feel quite right. The internet requirement does make this kinda pointless for people who own other consoles, if you’re gonna be tied to your home connection anyway (unless you really like playing in bed or something)-some sort of data package for Switch would be nice. And like I said, I wouldn’t want this to take the place of actual ports when it doesn’t have to. But yeah, I’m on board.

I wonder if there’s a way that this could go along with some ports. Like what if you bought a port of say, Doom Eternal to play on the go, but could pull up the cloud version to play when you’re docked? That could be neat.

Also, forgive my ignorance, I have no idea how stuff works. Is there any reason online games couldn’t be handled this way? I’d be so down for playing a cloud version of Star Wars Squadrons on my Switch, since that’s where I have my online subscription. Plus, that game will be pretty much worthless when the server goes down anyway, so why not?
