Yeah, I’m one of the 3.2 million. This game is...fine? I guess. Not too fun, really, but a decent enough thing to play with other people who aren’t really big gamers during the pandemic. Personally I’d rather just stick to Jackbox for that, though.
I am not anti-cloud gaming at all, but once again, I couldn’t be less interested in the game being offered. Maybe something appealing will be put up one day.
I’m glad it’s doing well and I’m glad so many people who wanted it are getting it, but man, I’m missing something with this game. I bought it for PS3 as a gamer who loves the movie and the comics, and I just thought it was boring. I wish I liked it, it’d be fun to get in on this excitement. Oh well.
@Elvie The way Lucas was supposedly treated/misled does seem kinda questionable...but eh, who knows what really happened/was said. All I know is, there has been a ridiculous amount of what is in my opinion very solid content ever since Disney bought Star Wars, and it’s only gonna get better. I’ll take Rebels, Mandalorian, 5 films, a bunch of great books/comics, Fallen Order, Squadrons, and I guess Galaxy’s Edge even though it isn’t really my thing, not to mention all the other announced stuff over whatever the heck we got between Revenge of the Sith and the Disney purchase. Clone Wars (which is great) and what, Angry Birds Star Wars? I know it was a bit more than that...but man, nothing like this. I couldn’t be happier with the Disney era so far.
@Retro_Player_77 What about all the people who complain that all the NSMB games are the same, though? You run into that problem too. At least Run is different.
Origami King and Hades are both excellent. Hard for me to choose between the two. I had fun with other stuff, but nothing else is really in contention for me.
As a big fan of Doom 2016 (which surprised me-I’m not much of a shooter guy), I was pretty pumped to play this, and I was planning on getting it on Switch...but then I tried it on Gamepass. I stopped playing before I even beat the first level. I could already tell I wouldn’t like it. Oh well. Hope it’s a good port and that everybody who gets it has fun with it!
@Yrreiht As I said above, Crayola Scoot is pretty decent. Which is not necessarily me saying you absolutely should buy it, but you could do much worse for a few bucks.
@0blivion Dalton is my favorite. Brosnan is fun. I hate Craig’s films. Not crazy about him in the role, but it’s more just that the films are boring and no fun.
Ace Attorney has been one of my favorite series since the DS. I really hope more games (new and old) are coming to Switch. The original trilogy is the best, but man, I love them all.
Somebody from Nintendo Life should just play Florence, by the way. It takes like 45 minutes. Absolutely belongs on this list.
I have absolutely no interest in either. I bought a PS3 because I wanted a 3D Blu-ray player and an XB1 because I wanted a 4K Blu-ray player. I’ve barely played any games on either. I’m just a Nintendo guy. Switch and my other Nintendo consoles is enough for me.
This is my favorite game on Switch. Didn’t really expect that going in, as prior to Three Houses I had only played a few hours of the first GBA game and a bit of the Awakening demo and neither really clicked with me. But man, I loved this game.
I don’t normally complain about price, and I don’t normally care about online gaming, but the only way I’d consider paying $40 for this is if I could play online with my buddy I played the original Bubble Bobble with as a kid. I don’t doubt that it’s worth it, I’m sure it’s a great game...it’s just not what I personally need it to be. Nice update, though!
I’m all for cloud gaming on Switch if it’s only used for games that would be very difficult to port (which is sure to happen more and more as PS and XB head into the next generation). But I have no interest in Control. Too bad, I’d love to support this.
@NathanTheAsian I agree. What I meant is, I don’t really care that we’re not getting them myself. FO was boring and Squadrons doesn’t appeal to me. Battlefront isn’t my thing either. I’m actually way happier with SW Pinball, Lego SW and older games than I’d be with the EA stuff. I mean, it’d be nice to get more new games, but I don’t really feel that Switch is missing out based on what’s going on out there. As long as EA has the license for “games for the core audience” or whatever the deal is, eh.
@mariomaster96 Well, not necessarily saying my situation is a common one, but I sold my 3DS and my games when Switch was announced, picked up a cheap 2DS a couple years later for various reasons, and started to build a digital library. Personally, I appreciate these discounts. Though sure, free would be cool too, ha.
@Beaucine I would say that Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy could both be described as “like Dark Forces”. But yeah, I’d like to see DF and Jedi Knight too.
Already have all of these except Jedi Academy, but I’m also getting Academy, Outcast and Racer from LRG for some reason, so I guess I’ll hold off, temping as it is to get it for $10. No clue why I bought those, I don’t even care about physical games. I guess it was more the Star Wars collector in me than the gamer!
Anyway, as others have said, I really hope more classic Star Wars games are coming to Switch. I’d love the Super Star Wars trilogy, Shadows of the Empire, the Rogue Squadron trilogy (and Battle for Naboo) and Clone Wars. The NES games and Bounty Hunter? Eh, I’d buy them, but I’m not as into them. And those are just games from Nintendo consoles! KOTOR would be pretty rad. Keep ‘em coming!
Hmm, maybe I should pick up Academy...help show that there’s interest in these games on Switch...
Also, 6 months’ notice is way better than I expected. Out of curiosity, what happens if things go south for the company fast and we don’t get 6 months?
Doesn’t bother me. I don’t need to own every game I ever play until the end of time. I honestly think it’s kinda weird that so many people make such a big deal out of it. No, it’s not ideal, but how is it different than going to a movie, concert or sporting event? Actually, cloud games last way longer. How is it different than getting an online multiplayer game that goes away when the server goes down? I wouldn’t want every game to be a cloud game, and I hope this is reserved for only games that truly would not be port-able, but I don’t think it’s so bad getting some of the more demanding games this way.
I don’t know, this game ownership thing...I don’t quite get it. I replay a bunch of old games, but if I no longer have access to one, I repurchase it, get it on new hardware or forget about it. Far from the end of the world. We’re talking about $50 or so video games, not $100k houses. It’s ok if you only have several years to play some of your games. I really don’t see why this is taken so seriously.
I’m on board, especially as the other consoles move in to the next generation. I’d certainly rather spend $500 on ten next gen games on the cloud than on a PS5 without any games. But that’s me-I don’t care about Sony/MS exclusives, and clearly I care less about game ownership than others.
I don’t mind the concept at all. If we can get more games on Switch, especially big AAA stuff as we move into the next generation of the other consoles, that’s fantastic. Also, they take up like no memory, which is good.
I do hope, though, that developers don’t get lazy and start doing this for EVERY game. It should be reserved for only the games that are the hardest to port.
As far as these being “rentals” goes? Bah. I don’t need to own every game I ever play until the end of time. Plus, lots of games “go away”’ when the server goes down (like, online multiplayer games), this is no different.
I do have some concerns. Pricing doesn’t feel quite right. The internet requirement does make this kinda pointless for people who own other consoles, if you’re gonna be tied to your home connection anyway (unless you really like playing in bed or something)-some sort of data package for Switch would be nice. And like I said, I wouldn’t want this to take the place of actual ports when it doesn’t have to. But yeah, I’m on board.
I wonder if there’s a way that this could go along with some ports. Like what if you bought a port of say, Doom Eternal to play on the go, but could pull up the cloud version to play when you’re docked? That could be neat.
Also, forgive my ignorance, I have no idea how stuff works. Is there any reason online games couldn’t be handled this way? I’d be so down for playing a cloud version of Star Wars Squadrons on my Switch, since that’s where I have my online subscription. Plus, that game will be pretty much worthless when the server goes down anyway, so why not?

Re: There Are No Plans Right Now For A Cyber Shadow Physical Release
I’m not the kind of guy who cares, I’m totally fine with digital...but this is obviously going to get a physical release someday.

Well, I guess I’ll finally get the Contra collection.
Re: Nintendo Download: 14th January (North America)
@Capt_N Star Wars Pinball is so great. Maybe I’ll play a few rounds later now that the idea is in my head. Have fun!
Re: Star Wars Video Games Join Forces Under Lucasfilm Games
@brunojenso Right there with you.
Re: Star Wars Video Games Join Forces Under Lucasfilm Games
@brunojenso I’m hoping that the announcement of the Rogue Squadron movie means these games will come back.

Re: Star Wars Video Games Join Forces Under Lucasfilm Games
Hey, if it means more Star Wars games on Switch, they can call themselves whatever they want.
Re: Feature: Remembering Super Mario 3D Land, 3D World’s Oft-Forgotten Predecessor
I loved this game. Prefer it to 3DW. The smaller levels are great for this style.
Re: Mini Review: Florence - The Very Definition Of 'Short But Sweet'
Glad you’re finally reviewing this. Hope it gets more people to play the game. The developer deserves it and gamers will love it. Win win!
Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2021
All the remaining Ace Attorney games, a bunch of old Star Wars games and the Metroid Prime trilogy and I’ll be happy!

Re: Review: Super Meat Boy Forever - A New Formula That Takes Away More Than It Adds
Actually sounds a bit better than I expected. May be more of a “pick it up on sale” game than a “skip it” game, like I assumed it would be.
Re: Super Meat Boy Forever Finally Slices Up A Nintendo Switch Release Date
I really want this game to be good, but I have a feeling it won’t be. Man, I hope I’m wrong.
Re: Poll: What's The Best Switch Game Of 2020? It's Time To Rate Your Favourites

If I have to choose one, I’m going OK.

@Munchlax Extension cords for the NES Classic are pretty cheap and work really well.
Make for a much nicer experience.

Re: Black Friday Switch Sale Discounts Ice Age, Jumanji And More Family-Friendly Games (US)
Crayola Scoot is pretty decent, actually. I’d recommend it to anybody looking to scratch that Tony Hawk itch on Switch, especially at that price.
I haven’t played the others, nor do I care to.

Re: Watch Out, GoldenEye 007 – Hitman Studio IOI Is Working On A James Bond Game
@0blivion I am aware, but man...those aren’t Bond films as far as I’m concerned. They stopped being enjoyable and special for me after DAD.
Re: Watch Out, GoldenEye 007 – Hitman Studio IOI Is Working On A James Bond Game
@TheFrenchiestFry Man...I’ll never understand that.
Re: Watch Out, GoldenEye 007 – Hitman Studio IOI Is Working On A James Bond Game
@WhiteTrashGuy Makes sense, there hasn’t been a real Bond film in 18 years.

@NathanTheAsian Well, the new Lego Star Wars game is new. Fallen Order wasn’t very fun anyway. I haven’t played Squadrons yet, though.

Re: Random: Not Everyone Is Happy With Cadence Of Hyrule's Interior Artwork
I would have chosen “some people care about weird things” as a headline.
How often are people looking at the art inside their video game cases?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 24th)
Don’t ask me why, but I’ve been revisiting some Wii games lately. Just wrapped up DKCR this morning. Up next: Kirby’s Epic Yarn.
Re: Poll: Rate Your Favourite Wii Games
Perfect timing for me-I’ve just been revisiting my Wii for some reason. Great stuff-I can’t wait to see how the list turns out.
