Just spent some time with it. The NES game doesn’t seem very good, as expected. But I do really like the Game Boy game! Worth a look.

I’m sure I’ve seen other good reviews too. I think I may have even seen it pop up on some “best Game Boy game” lists. Or at least like, a hidden gem list or something.

@Sisilly_G the Bill & Ted movies are very good. Probably much better than you think.

Makes sense to me. Three Houses is my favorite game on Switch and I'm skipping this one. I'm sure it's a good game, especially for longtime fans, but seems like they cut down on most of what I (along with many others) liked about Three Houses. Maybe I'll pick it up some day, but no rush.

@johnvboy only if you wanted the Wii U version. The transfer of digital Wii games in the Wii U’s Wii mode was free.

@johnvboy you absolutely did not have to pay a fee to download them on Wii U-only to “upgrade” to the Wii U version with remappable controls and save states (and slightly easier access since you didn’t have to switch to Wii mode).

@johnvboy we didn’t lose games though? They transferred to the new system.

@Enriesto Eh, I don't have much interest in buying physical 3DS games, though I appreciate the tip. I do think Awakening seems more up my alley than Engage. I think I'll do it!

The one con completely killed my interest. Oh well, back to Three Houses. Or hey, maybe I'll finally pick up Awakening before the eshop closes down instead. That has some social stuff, right?

Man, I'm excited for this one.

Just last night I was saying that even though Three Houses is my favorite Switch game, I hadn’t seen anything that got me excited for Engage yet.

@msvt I contacted Nintendo through their (very convenient) text message customer support, and very nicely said that I've never done this before, but I'm requesting a refund because this game is clearly unfinished and gave a few quick examples. Pointed out that I buy a ton of games. They said their policy is to not give refunds but they'd pass my request on to another team. I got an email within about 4 minutes saying it was approved, ha.

Unless the game gets better after the first couple of hours, a 6 is very generous. This is the only game I've ever been so unhappy with that I asked for (and got) a refund. Clearly unfinished, and honestly, even if it ran well/was polished, it still wouldn't be fun. Golf Story was a real gem. This is a bad game.

It's fine, it's just a box...but why not like, not make them ugly?

@nocdaes you’re not buying it now because they chose a release date that you believe will hurt sales? That’ll show ‘em.

@nocdaes What’s wrong with releasing a game when people have time off work/school and potentially holiday money/eShop credit/new Switches?

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika I've never really been a fan, but I do think my son will enjoy 'em. They're fine. Certainly well made/high quality games for kids.

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika I have a young kid who loves DC superheroes and is just starting to get into video games. I know enough to know that this isn't exactly a Nintendo-quality game, but I also know how much of a kick he'd get out of it. That's what matters.

Having said that, this is definitely more of a "borrow it from the library" game than something I'll actually pay for.

@Mdhoover you also have to consider that things are being rated for what they are, it’s not always one game vs. another. If you want an Atari collection, this is a darn good one. If you want a modern action/adventure game, this one has issues. Sonic is not as good at being what it wants to be as the Atari collection is. Simple as that. Some people still may prefer/have more interest in/be more impressed by Sonic and that’s fine.

@Mdhoover I don't see the problem. A game that the reviewer didn't enjoy and had problems with vs. a collection from one of the biggest names in video game history made with more care and love than we've ever seen in a retro collection.

This, along with other reviews I've read, make it sound amazing. I'll buy it as soon as I decide if I want to get it digitally like most of my games (especially pick up and play stuff) or physically because it sounds so darn awesome. Hopefully it'll be on sale by then as a bonus, ha.

Add an option to pay a few bucks each to own games that are on the service and I’m cool with it. I like having access to everything they give us-fun trying out games I’ve never played before and all that, and I don’t think the price is too bad, but I’d really like to know that I’ll have my favorite games after the service ends-especially since they sold us these expensive controllers that don’t really have any other use.

I’ll get this eventually for sure. Pretty happy with my Atari collections for my Evercade, but this is a nice package, and I’d love to have it on my Switch.

An HD 2D version of Super Mario Kart was maybe the best idea I've ever heard until you mentioned changing the controls. Yuck.

@NeonPizza I don’t totally agree with what you’re saying about indie Metroidvanias I’ve played some really excellent ones (including Monster Boy). But yeah, there sure are a lot of them, and presumably, many that I skipped are kinda bogus. Don’t write them all off though!

First one was fun enough but kinda mediocre. I think I can skip this one.

Mainly XC3. I’m an hour or two into chapter 3, and man…it’s good.

Also, I picked up those Namco Museum Archives games for $5 each a week or so ago, so I’m having fun of those when I need a Xenoblade break. Just discovered Dragon Spirit last night. Whoa, that game kinda rules.

@Friendly This is what I'm hoping for too. I played a ton of Rabbit Rampage, Marvin Missions and especially Death Valley Rally as a kid. Would love to get them all back on Switch!

If it was any other sport, I'd check it out.

All three games are great, but the first Ouendan game is one of my favorite games of all time. A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
