@FishyS Oh totally agree and understand. That one baffles me more than others, though. Glad they liked it, and cool if anybody else does, but that game really didn’t work for me. Usually I can at least say “eh, not for me, but I get it”. Oh well.
You know, I like this site, and I certainly understand that people have different opinions and all that, but I really, really do not understand why they like Horace so much. I hated my time with that game.
Other than that, cool list. Good combination of games I enjoyed and games I’ve been wanting to check out!
I never really played Pokémon before the Switch. I loved Let’s Go Pikachu and thought Sword was boring, so I didn’t really know what to expect with this one, but man, 8 or so hours in, I’m loving it. I guess lots of people are complaining about it for some reason? Whatever, I think it’s great.
@Flangela All he said was people may be more interested in a sequel to the original after enjoying the 2D game. I feel like the issue was more that you didn’t read the comment than he didn’t read the article.
Started Brilliant Diamond last night. Really enjoying it a couple hours in.
I’ve been a gamer since the NES but never really played Pokémon until the Switch. I loved Let’s Go Pikachu and I thought Sword was kinda boring…so far I’d say this is more in line with LGP. So that’s good. We’ll see if it stays that way, though.
@Not_Soos I’m not a WayForward fan either and I’ve been wondering the same thing. This game sure looks good, and it’s a remake of a game they didn’t make so maybe that helps…I just can’t get excited when people talk about WF games being good. Those guys know how to make games that look and sound great, but I don’t think they understand a thing about level design or enemy placement.
I realized I was old when my reaction to articles/posts that are meant to make you feel old started to be “yeah, this isn’t surprising at all, I know I’m old.”
@larryisanassman I agree that there are other issues. To be honest, I misunderstood your comment-I thought you were suggesting it should only be $10 (wrong currency, I know) because it’s only something you’d play for a week or a month. Now I see that you were talking about an actual short-term rental system, which I am in no way opposed to.
Having said that, I do think there’s a place for these cloud versions. If games are truly un-portable to Switch (i.e. not Kingdom Hearts), I think it’s a great option for Switch-only owners. Next gen systems can only be played at home/on a TV anyway, so no big loss there losing portability on Switch. And honestly, I’d rather buy like ten cloud games on a console I already own than spend that money on a console without even getting a game with it. Still, sure, better pricing would be welcome.
@larryisanassman I don’t really understand your point. It doesn’t go away in a few weeks after you beat it, you still have access until the server does down, which should be years from now (and you’ll have six months notice before it shuts down). The non-cloud version is no more replayable than the cloud version for the foreseeable future. I mean, I get that if you want to play it like 20 years from now that may be a problem, but is that really enough to make it worth 1/5 the price?
I decided to take a break from Great Ace Attorney 2 after beating case 3 the other night. I didn’t want to have to stop mid-case when Metroid came out. So I finally got around to poking around in New Pokémon Snap while I waited. Pretty fun! I think it’ll be my “wind down” game at the end of intense gaming sessions or something to pick up when I only have ten minutes for a while. I could see switching over to that after getting through some EMMI sections or bosses in Dread, this game kinda stresses me out (in a good way), ha.
I actually think cloud gaming is kinda cool. At least, it could be if used correctly. For example, as PS5 and Series X/S get more and more games made for that hardware, it’d be cool to see Switch get them through the cloud. I’d much rather buy like 10 cloud games than have to spend that money on a console just to be able to buy those games. Even better, what if they could have actual ports of games that are a bit watered down (think Doom, for example) but give us the option to pay a premium (maybe an extra $10) to have access to a cloud version when we are at home and connected to the internet. Great graphics and performance (if you have good internet) at home, and a slightly worse version on the go. I don’t know, I see potential, and I’d support it under the right circumstances.
But I don’t think I can support cloud games that are the result of laziness/a total lack of effort. I see no reason why KH 1 and 2 couldn’t have been ported. This is the scary side of cloud gaming.
Game looks cool (I think, anyway-they didn’t show much), but man, that is one of the most irritating trailers I’ve ever seen. Talking over music that is way too loud is…ugh.
@twztid13 6 Rocky movies, with the most recent one coming out in 2006. Also, Rocky is a huge part of the Creed films, with Creed 2 being closely tied to Rocky 4. And like, who doesn’t know Rocky?
Not sure! I wrapped up the first Great Ace Attorney game last night (absolutely loved it), and I want to take a little break before starting the second one. My plan was to play Axiom Verge 2 between the two, but I started it last night, and ehhh…I don’t know. I kinda don’t want to continue. I’ll probably just do stuff like Picross and Mario Golf for a bit. Oh! Maybe I’ll go back to Skyward Sword.
@SeaFishelle I’d honestly buy any SW game, ha. But yeah, those would be cool. I’ve never played the classic Battlefronts! Shadows of the Empire is the one I REALLY want…
Already bought all of the games from LRG, so no interest in these. If they want to release any more old Star Wars games on Switch, though, yeah-I’ll buy ‘em.
@Warioware I’ve heard the rumors, and I don’t buy them at all. They’re not going to upset fans of the new stuff (as loud as the haters are, I’m certain that more people enjoy it), confuse more casual fans, upset the filmmakers/scare potential future filmmakers out of working for them in the future by making it clear that anything that people get angry about will be made “unofficial”, destroy the entire canon (which consists of way more than just a few movies), start over without Carrie Fisher, acknowledge that they screwed up (which I’d argue they didn’t anyway)…it just doesn’t make sense. Much more likely that they’ll just try to improve the ST by fleshing out the stories/characters Clone Wars-style. Which, between Mandalorian and Bad Batch, it seems like they’re doing, by the way. Anyway, there really just isn’t any reason to do it. At worst, the movies are unnecessary additions to the saga that have their ups and downs (personally, I loved them, but it’s cool if others aren’t as enthusiastic about them as I am). I get why people who LOVED the old EU were let down by them, but outside of that, anybody who says they’re so offensive that they need to be wiped from existence is kidding themselves. They’re fine, just move on and hope you like the next thing better.
That last part’s not really directed at you specifically, by the way.
Great Ace Attorney! Gonna knock out Axiom Verge 2 when I’m done before starting GAA2. I doubt I’ll get there this weekend-not quite done with case 4 yet…but we’ll see.
“High random encounter rate” is all I had to see to know that this game isn’t for me. Nothing frustrates me more. Too bad, looks pretty cool other than that. Hope people who can deal with the encounters enjoy it!
@dBackLash I absolutely loved this game, and it really stuck with me after I beat it, but I agree. I didn’t really think it was too disturbing or horrifying or anything. Just a neat, unpredictable game.
Probably would have felt differently if I knew absolutely nothing going in (not even the warning), but even then, I don’t think it would have been THAT disturbing.
@Snatcher Yeah. I’ve thought about stuff like this before. It’s easy to say “eh, I already own it, that stinks, I would have gotten this instead”, but if you really think about it, it’s just $5 you spent months ago. Don’t let it stop you from getting what you want!

I didn’t like Kaze at all. Big 2D platformer fan, but eh. It was pretty boring.

I used to have a C64. Two of them, in fact.
Can’t say as though I have any interest in this. Cool, though. I guess.

@Audiogore0733 I’m sayin’!
Re: Star Wars: Hunters Shows The Force In Flashy New Trailer
A lot of negativity in the comments so far, so I’ll try something different.
Star Wars? And I can try it without spending any money? Yeah, I’ll give it a chance. I’m down for anything Star Wars.
May not like it, but if that’s the case, I’ll just delete it. But yeah, I’m looking forward to checking it out.

Still working on Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. Pretty sure I’m almost done with case 2 in the second game…
Picked up New Pokémon Snap the other day. I’d love to check it out, but I don’t want to take my focus away from GAA.
Man, that Cruisin Blast game looks great. I really want to get it/check it out. But now is not the time…

Well, I mean, I like the Rocky/Creed movies, and this seems decent enough. Maybe during Target’s next B2G1 sale or something.
