Re: Nintendo Sends Out Second Game-Key Card & Physical Game Survey

@Theghostofkeithmoon yeah it's exactly this. MicroSD Express cards are insanely expensive and it's dependent on us to ensure we can fit games we play which means having multiple or shelling out more for a bigger card. I enjoy the physical product and being able to revisit it without the internet. I also really miss having game manuals, like many people under the age of 25 would have had limited exposure to even 360 and PS3 games which had manuals and maps and all sorts of cool stuff in them. Now it's maybe a QR code to a soulless manual. I was in GameStop recently and going through their older game boxes was awesome because they still have the originals in some of these. It's cost cutting galore first the manuals, then the game data next the plastic and case.

I really like kart racers, I hope this one has a little bit more speed and agility than the last Sonic racing game that came out. It was a lot of fun and a I played it a lot but couldn't come back to it since it felt kind of "heavy"

I was able to just walk in and buy one at my local game shop during my lunch break on launch day, no stress. I did have to drive somewhere else to get the Pro Controller but ample stock of things around the city. The Switch 2 cases are oddly hard to find though. I wanted to buy it now before the costs go up on it like PS5 and Xbox have had, inflation might force them to raise it or bundle something to justify a higher price 🥲

Is it just me or do other people think Doug Bowser is too corporate? It's impossible to replace Reggie Fils-Aime too so not quite sure. I certainly felt like Reggie pushed more for the gamer than just listening to HQ. Happy virtual cards FINALLY came out having owned a Lite and standard Switch only to find out on my vacation I needed an Internet connection to play my games which I didn't have 😭

The Switch was really one of the greatest consoles of all time. I own a few of them but even since getting the Series X and ability to game on a proper TV it has been seeing far less usage. I poured hundreds of hours into so many good games. I even nearly cleared a backlog during COVID. Animal Crossing was amazing and I have several characters at the Smash Elite level but pretty sure the ergonomics also led me to have many times with sore hands after some minor gaming sessions. Pro Controller for the win on comfort! Will miss the Switch but given it's massive install base I think we will see games coming for another 3-4 years pretty easily. In no rush for the Switch 2 given the price point and many caveats to owning it. Eventually, some day might get it. I do love owning Nintendo consoles.

Tbh I might wait for a Pro version or Switch 3. The specs are pretty disappointing as it's just fishing out 2 Teraflops at most compared to 10-12 for consoles Sony and Microsoft dropped 5 years ago. Nintendo now has a niche were they're releasing previous gen games during the next gen for it's competitors. For most gamers around the world the output is excellent for a handheld device but I guess I'm just wanting more given how many PC handhelds are out there. I love the convenience of the Switch and how everything is optimized so I'll get a Switch 2 Pro someday

This launch will be remembered for being poor due to messaging and global trade. Maybe it is a controversial opinion but I think they should outright delay the launch of the console, see what tariffs have in store and change some of their decisions on the caveats people have to deal with. We will still buy it. This feels so old school and rule specific ,it's not very Nintendo friendly for casuals
