Re: Soapbox: An Anniversary Ode To Okami, The Best Zelda Game That Isn't

Kilamanjaro

Like the game but never really got the Zelda comparisons. Just because every games journalist says it still hasn't made it feel that way to me. It's like looking at those photos where one person sees a gold dress and someone else sees a blue one, it just never looks the color people say! I still like Okami, but I agree with people here that it can be slow so therefore I haven't beaten the game either

Re: Mario Kart 8 Becomes The "Best-Selling" Racing Game In US History

Kilamanjaro

Can't wait for Mario Kart 9! Sold Mario kart 8 deluxe after a year, had played it a bunch on the Wii U and anytime I raced anyone on Switch it was an absolute bloodbath for them sooo yeah, in the spirit of fair competition I had to sell it so that some day when I race someone it will be a fair, fun match for them.

Re: Soapbox: 'I'll Play It On Game Pass' Is Becoming Common, But Does That Affect Switch eShop?

Kilamanjaro

Glad you wrote this article, Gamepass is an amazing offering and has really let me try games I wouldn't otherwise be able to afford or that I've been nervous to purchase. Some might be because the games take up a ton of memory on my microSD (400GB & 200GB) & the other is that they will not run very well on the Switch. Portability is a good selling point for a while, but I own some 80+ games on Switch so pretty sure I have thousands of hours of content on there. But also, I have spent a TON of money the last 4 years on both great games but also games I regret spending the full amount of cash on. I really love Gamepass and have been playing a ton of indie games, AAA titles and some other games that have flown under the radar. It's not to say I won't keep playing my Switch, I just think as a gamer that every gamer would be able to benefit from services like Gamepass Ultimate. Best of both worlds.

Re: Japanese Charts: Monster Hunter Rise Stays Top In A Nintendo-Dominated Top Ten

Kilamanjaro

Outriders is excellent, really enjoying the game. Shame more people are not hopping onto Gamepass, as a long time Nintendo fan & day one owner of a Switch have to say I'm honestly blown away by the Xbox Series X and Gamepass. They have a ton of indies, sports games, shooters, AAA games, etc I held out on getting for the Switch and it paid off. Perfect pair for me (don't have to spend $25 on Narita Boy for example), will get a PS5 Digital some time down the road at a lower price / smaller size for the Sony exclusives but keep cross-platform on the XSX. Absolutely fantastic time to be a gamer! Wish Xbox had more penetration in that market but it's doing well in others. Totally fine, poor MSFT 😂

Re: Retro-Bit's Next Tribute64 Controller Offers Wireless N64 Play, And Pre-Orders Open Today

Kilamanjaro

Ay I got way too many controllers at this point 😂 I'm in control already NL! Switch Pro launch controller, base joycons, red blue first gen (hyper drift) joycons, gamecube wireless, NES add ons, SNES controller EU version, SplitPad Pro attachment and the new MH Rise Pro Controller (since the joycons constantly drift / to have a level playing field for fighting games). I'll mayyyybe get an N64 controller if Hori or Nintendo releases a full reprint with bluetooth. But please, I have enough controllers haha a PS5s worth of them

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 3rd)

Kilamanjaro

This weekend I am playing some Super Mario 64, Star Wars Squadrons and ACNH.. plus started Octopath Traveler on the Xbox series x. Poured 90 hours into the Switch version & happy to start it again and get some achievements this time around. Played a bit on xCloud and Remote Play, was a bit choppy on 2.4GHZ but will switch to 5GHZ to keep it smooth

Re: Dev Explains Why Nintendo Made Mario's Anniversary Games Limited-Time

Kilamanjaro

@streetzman ooo insult guy over here everyone! Ever heard of the Nintendo eShop? For Wii? 3DS? Wii U? Where many of those older gen titles are held? Lots of us have purchased on those digital eshops as recently as the last few months and definitely over the past 15 years. Not everyone holds onto those consoles & digital purchases aren't tied across the ecosystem. So why don't you use the energy you have to insult other people to use your brain to think about & understand the limitations of the Nintendo eShop and online ecosystem from this century.

Re: Care For A Variety Of Furry Friends In Animal Doctor, Out Today On Switch

Kilamanjaro

Those lifeless models are terrifying. Now comes a little confession, I played a similar CD game back on PC in the late 90s / early 00s called "I can be am Animal Doctor" which was an awesome game for my childhood mind. Actually had wanted to be a vet or work in a zoo after getting into it. Here's a link to the game https://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/i-can-be-an-animal-doctor Anyway, that original game reminded me of this, but after watching the absolutely horrific trailer of this dumpster fire of a game I can happily say my childhood game is probably 1000x better than this trash & that sense of nostalgia remains intact behind a 20 year old wall of time. Guess it'll never get a true successor & will always remain happily dead in our collective memories. But hey, more time for some REAL games now

Re: New 4K Switch Model Could Launch For $399, Analysts Suggest

Kilamanjaro

@Darkyoshi98 I easily plug in hundreds of hours a year into the Switch. I don't think I would get hundreds more hours of value with a broader selection of games if I got another Switch (I also own a Lite). At this point its diminishing returns with more Switches. Here's my example. Recently Ipicked up a Series X with Game Pass & the value there is ridiculous! I get hundreds of games, from indies to AAA, and can play in bed or on the couch with either cloud or remote play active on my phone (I have a clip to my controller). So I have more games & the ability to play on a 1440p OLED display right now. So if you like Dead Cells, Undertale, Octopath Traveler, DOOM Eternal, Star Wars, Nier Automata, etc etc you can play all of those for a super low cost to access all those games with higher quality graphics / better accessibility than what a 4K Switch can offer. Would it make more sense, if you want 4K and 4K gaming to stick with Switch or get a PS5 or Series X? Well next gen is optimized for 4K with the SSDs and Switch might still stick with microSD cards. In the Fall, both PS5 and Xbox will have stronger libraries when / if a Switch Pro launches, so I think you would really miss out on other excellent games in the broader ecosystem if you just get another Switch. It's not like I can't just pick up my Switch if I own a Series X, it just means I have more choice to pay for games at lower prices & higher fidelity on Xbox sales or Switch sales and can access more libraries and exclusives with more consoles.

Re: Octopath Traveler Is No Longer A Nintendo Switch Console Exclusive

Kilamanjaro

So happy for this, it's such a great game. Really impressed with Game Pass. Would recommend it to ANY gamer. Incredible value for the price. No need to be a hater with exclusive this or exclusive that. It's an awesome service which has saved me a TON of money and I've only had it for two weeks! When the service launched back in 2018, it sucked but man is it totally worth it now

Re: Soapbox: It's Time To Normalise Giving Up On Games Early

Kilamanjaro

Bravo Kate! Now I admit I will probably not finish the FF7 port on the Switch, DBZ Fighterz storyline (only like multiplayer), and a bunch of others. I'm currently stuck on a second replay of Curse of the Moon 2 because of the difficulty level to get the true ending, but it's easily one of my favorite action platformers of 2020. Anyway, totally agree with your points here. Just have fun or stop playing depending on the game's vibe! (Althougj sometimes you gotta force a playthrough for whatever reasons)
