From what we've seen about the system proper, I think it has potential, but Nintendo tends to err on the side of caution a little too much and will play it too safe and not play off the potential success. Get some bravado, Nintendo.
I feel like I really don't care to hear any more about Zelda. We saw so much of it at e3 and it was just on repeat for a long time. They could tease something Switch related and it would be a bombshell. Wait... what if Zelda's presence IS Switch-related?
Missed opportunity to make a new entry. I just hope that this isn't a recurring trend where most of the releases are just rehashes and re-releases. It's trending to be that way though. Yeah, I get that people didn't play the Wii U all that much, but for the 13 million people who owned the console, a lot of these experiences are years old.
Wow... there really aren't a whole lot of new things on that list. Hopefully this is either straight up wrong or that there are a lot of missing items. Hope you all didn't already buy all of those Wii U titles!
I can't believe anyone actually legitimately thought it was real. How would some tool of a youtuber get their hands on one anyway? There's no way that anyone outside of Nintendo or maybe a couple of select 3rd party developers would ever touch them.
He's only doing it for the attention, and you all you gave it in spades.
As long as it's not a year old port for full price yet again, I'm fine with whatever they give us. More than likely though, it's not gonna be a comparable release. EA hasn't been gracious in like... the pass decade
Emily has just as many instances of being wrong as she does being right, so I don't trust a damn thing she says. I remember several instances where she was flat out wrong. No Mother 3, despite what... 2 years of saying that its coming? Plus she was all over the place on Wii U rumors back when. Where is that Rockstar game and Soul Caliber 4?
Well, even if it was a turd, they sure as hell wouldn't say as such. They want it to sell, regardless. Of course they would talk it up as the next big thing. That being said, I'm excited for it, so...
Kinda sucks, but it's because people are so desperate that it gives scalpers an avenue to do this stuff. I don't understand why people just can't wait until next month when the resupply comes around. I managed to get one today because I was in the right place at the right time to snag a spot in line, but I would not pay upwards to 3-5x the price. It's ludicrous to waste your money on that.
@LuigiMan123 Pretty sure there was a Legend of Zelda Collectors Disk that had the NES/N64 games. I believe it was the Platinum GCN that came with it because I know I had it.
I work at a retail store that only got 6 in the freight so my chances are slim. I'm not terribly torn up if I can't get one. My buddy manager at local Gamestop could hook me up if I need it.
Part of me would rather just have one of the genuine Ys games. Those games put practically all of their copycats to shame. Plus Falcom's sound team is practically unrivaled.
I still have yet to beat Echoes, but I did finish both Prime and Corruption. Great games! I hope that I can eventually go back and play the Trilogy... assuming I ever have the free time.
However, I REALLY hate that DF encourages people to use emulation in this case. You should never encourage piracy, especially when the official game is still able to be purchased on an official platform. No, I don't need your explanations about "if you own the game, it's not illegal" and all that, because thats not the case. At least with PS2 emulation, you can play your physical disc. In fact I did just that for a while when my PS3 was busted and before I could get a PS2 to replace it. Dolphin is 100% emulated. Most people who use emulators aren't gonna be those kind citizens who own all of the games they are playing. That's just not how it works.
Yuuuuup, once again I own all of the offerings. Even both Xenoblade discounts >_>
I still fail to see why they can't just offer a static reward like DDP did and give us the option to just get straight eshop credit. 1000 platinum coins could just be something small like 5 bucks. Give a comparable credit for gold coins as well. Hell, they could just decrease the discount costs a little bit to make them more appealing to pick up or give steeper discounts. 15% is not that intriguing (IMO at least).
It's amazing that whenever I see this rumor posted, people comment on it immediately saying something about how its not enough, and yet glossing over the fact that NL themselves mentioned. RAM is not as simple as people think and the type, as well as how easily accessed it is, can changed everything. 4gb could be just fine. It just depends on how its implemented. Just because "it's not 8gb" doesn't mean much at all.
On top of everything else, this is a handheld. You can't go expecting a handheld to be on par with the modern PC and console. It's completely unreasonable to think that a tablet can essentially be a fully functioning PS4.
I can't see this being true in any capacity. I mean, they showed Skyrim, and if they showed that, then they have to have some intent on having higher capacity carts. Why would they barely improve over the 3DS 8gb?
Considering they've released next to nothing, and have the Switch production/R&D costs to deal with, it's not surprising. Nintendo is just gonna have to eat this up and wait until March.
@Elanczewski Uhh... in a Nintendo Direct? Did you put any thought into this?
I expect MonHun 5 seeing as they said they were working on it at the same time as Cross/Generations. My only for is that it is for the Switch. I just pray they don't do a dual release on 3DS. This series is just one of a couple that could convince Japan to buy the console. If they release it on 3DS, then a lot of consumers will just shrug the Switch version off, just like they did with the Wii U version of MonHun3U. Yeah, I get that less people might ultimately buy it, but Nintendo needs to make the console lucrative, and this is one way to do it.
Amusing that something as low-key as the Switch is considered gimmicky while PS VR, Move, Kinect, Smart Glass (notice how many of those aren't really around anymore?) were not once called gimmicks, but "innovations". Double standard for Nintendo every, damn, day.
The demographic Nintendo has struggled with is the "millennials". 20s and 30s who lapsed from Nintendo in their teen years. Casting exclusively that age group was REALLY smart. A lot of press coverage I saw specifically called that out as a positive as it shows focus toward that group that they've neglected. It's not about kids and grandmas any more.
The irony of that confirmed game list is that both 2K and Bethesda said that they have no active projects as of yet despite showing it during that trailer.
The demo is ok. It's functional, and it gets the point across, but I just wish there was one legit tough fight or just some string of endless stuff to do like ORAS.
I picked this up, mostly due to it being a Falcom game, and my god, the VAs are genuinely horrible, even for an early 00s game. Also controls feel just really... off? Dunno how to explain it. I've only just started playing but first impressions aren't too good.
People just need to relax and step away from their keyboards for a while if they are going to so many lengths to glean information from people and places that clearly have nothing to do with Nintendo.
I don't really get bothered by 30fps. Some games really benefit from 60fps like Smash, but nearly everything else is perfectly fine in 30fps. Even my favorite series, Tales of, has bounced between 30 and 60 and while it catches me off guard at first, you adapt and nothing else changes. Hell, even competitors hit sub 1080p and 30fps on a regular basis. It's not as big of a deal as people think it is. I'd rather them focus on maintaining 1080p and making the games expansive and beautiful.
Considering I never played the remakes, the whole "Silver is Giovanni's son" thing was completely unknown to me. I am actually quite surprised they put something from an event as one of their key moments in the franchise.
I think the series is fine, but I think that it's still just too "Japanese" for the Western audience. Unlike Pokemon which draws inspiration from literally every culture, Yokai are strictly Japanese. It's no wonder Japan eats it up while everyone else just kinda shrugs at it.
I really get horrible flashbacks to literally every Nintendo launch where people say the same things and nothing pans out the way it was said. I really do hope Nintendo can at least get back to GCN levels, even if it results in the 'meh' sales that the GCN achieved.
@Galactus_33 Why would they wait for Paper Mario? They are unrelated events. Just because they talk about NX, it doesn't mean that people are just not gonna buy a game anymore.
@MowMow789 Despite the conditions, don't almost EVERY major electronics company use them? Pretty sure Sony, Microsoft, Apple, Nintendo... they all use them. Yeah, they really shouldn't give business to them but money speaks volumes and if they savings is significant enough, they'll just look the other way.
It doesn't look that bad if you actually watch the clip. However, the anime creators basically have made it a point to make Ash seem younger and younger each new arc. This is just the culmination of it all. I mean... he's JUST NOW going to school >_>
And really, I don't think grown men and women really should have any right to judge a show clearly intended for children. It's obviously not made for you.
@LegendOfPokemon Yeah, this has nothing to do with power. Lego games are exactly technical beasts of software engineering. It's just due to lack of optimization and different architecture.
@Oubie I don't that Color Splash has any effect on the NX. The game will be out nearly 6 months before the NX and the mere announcement of the NX won't sway any people who are already interested. And let's be honest, Color Splash isn't the game that will convince people to buy a Wii U, and therefore would end up being disappointed by a concurrent reveal of the NX around the same time.
Just started playing this and my god, the first 2 hours is one of the worst and slowest intros of RPGs I can remember. I'm powering through it because I've heard such great things about the rest of the game, but damn. I honestly wouldn't blame someone for giving up on it just because of how bad it is that early.
