The Game Awards 2016 take place tonight and host Geoff Keighley has confirmed that Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime will be appearing on-stage at some point during the event.
From Keighley's comments it sounds like Reggie is going to be presenting on-stage. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be shown during the pre-show at 8:30 PM ET, so there's a chance Reggie will talk a little more about the game when he's in front of the cameras.

Why does Reggie have such a following? I find him awkward, bumbling and downright boring. He is possibly the complete opposite of what you want when announcing products...

The fact A Breath of the Wild is showing will surely eclipse anybody or anything appearing next to it.
I like Reggie but the hype is dead for me currently. I spent my money on a new PS4 and games this holiday so it will be summer before I can consider the Switch. They missed a huge window and without Zeld launching along side it I am just not interested. Plus I want to see their account system, if it is the same as WiiU then I am 100% out. I will keep my 3DS as I adore it but nothing new until that is fixed.

@alasdair91 he is a good leap better than other CEO's announcing things, like he hasn't got a droning nasal voice like the XBOX dude.

If it is a Reggie Amiibo it will have absolutely no function besides kicking ass and taking names, then it will do neither of those and will be recalled.

He's very well spoken, cheerful and has a cartoonish appearance that makes him quike likeable and fits with Nintendo perfectly.

Why are they showing Zelda during the pre-show when probably only half as many people will be watching? You don't advertise your next big product during the Superbowl pre-show, you do it during the game. Cheap losers.
Reggie will announce either
1. the new Miitomo update
2. the new My Nintendo update
3. he has 3 NES Mini in the trunk of his car he's selling for half price, only $100 each, half the price they are going for on eBay

I like Reggie and his personality a deal more than other CEOs. That said, he's still a CEO, so everything that comes out his mouth is soulless marketing babble. It's just the way it is.

I feel like I really don't care to hear any more about Zelda. We saw so much of it at e3 and it was just on repeat for a long time. They could tease something Switch related and it would be a bombshell. Wait... what if Zelda's presence IS Switch-related?

@alasdair91 I'm sure you mean well, but personally I have not seen any appearances from Reggie that would be described as awkward, bumbling or downright boring. He is a P.R. man first and foremost, meaning his presence is a little unusual these days as a lot of big companies now train multiple staff members in this field.
If you want to see presentations in the way you describe, look no further than Microsoft's keynotes.
There is a chance he could just be accepting an award. Who knows. Personally I'm tired of his crap. He's lied to our faces on a bunch of occasions. Not to mention he was the president of NOA while the wii u floundered. I'm sure he had to have had the power to bring in more advertising for the system from the get go, yet he did nothing. I don't hate the guy but we really need a new face for NOA.

Reggie isn't and never was a CEO for Nintendo. His current position with Nintendo is the ambiguous title of 'executive officer' for Nintendo of America, a job that he is annually reappointed to, which means he's expendable.

That's today. By inauguration day all of that color will wash off and he'll practically look like an albino. He's preparing for his portrait for the lobby of the "Trump Presidential Library and Hotel" where rooms will go for $1,200 a night.

@8bitforever Well you can always wait until the holidays anyway. It's not like you HAVE to buy it at launch. Matter of fact, I usually encourage waiting if you're not sure.

@alasdair91 While you're not wrong that he's clownish, I think that's right in line with Nintendo's brand. Sony, Microsoft, and EA are really bad for bringing in presenters that approach every event as if it's a shareholder event.
